The Special Two: An Enchanting and Heart-Warming Tale of How a Precious Boy Came into the World

Rate this book
The Special Two is a beautiful short story that was written to explain and introduce the concept of being a donor-conceived child. It’s a simple but thoughtful explanation outlining the journey of a baby being created through IVF with the help of a generous stranger. This was written with mindfulness and a deep appreciation and connection for the amazing gift of life and is explained with an abundance of love, thought, and passion. Showing a child that they were born into this world uniquely and that they were deeply desired even before conception is so important. This is a story for all children to show how families are created in many ways and to provide an insight into the modern family. It is also a tribute to all the selfless people providing a way for so many precious children to be in this world.

About the author

Sarah Kissane is a writer, mother, and truth-teller creating work that challenges the stories we’ve inherited — and invites us to imagine something radically more human.

After writing The Special Two — a private tribute to her son — Obsolete: The Education Wake-Up Call became her first public release: a bold invitation to rethink the future we’re building in the age of AI.

She’s also the founder of Words With Heart Press and the author of The Truth Stack — a raw, unfiltered trilogy of survival guides for writers, thinkers, and creators navigating self-publishing and digital overwhelm.

Her writing is grounded, emotionally clear, and committed to protecting what must remain — even as the world rapidly changes around us.
