I finally finished the whole series and holy crap what a roller coaster. I’ll admit I only finished the series because I just had to know what happened. Wasn’t a terrible series overall.
First I would like to explain that I am using a Google voice to text service because I have MS and my phone has tiny little buttons that I cannot press because of the whole touch screen and shaking thing lol. So if there are grammar issues, or mistakes on spellings of names this is the reason.
Okay so now is the time for a full honest review. Let us start with the positive. I find that authors and readers enjoy the positives more than the negatives so I will start with the positives.
First up, I enjoyed the overall story. Meaning I enjoyed the idea of the story. There were a few things that got me hung up but we will address those in a few minutes. I also enjoyed the idea of the big scary guy and the small girl ratio kind of thing as a couple. I've always loved the whole opposites attract. So the idea was great. The story idea overall was great. Now I'm going to move on to the less positives.
I don't know if it was an editing issue, actually if that's the only thing I can think of because I don't think the author herself would have made these mistakes. There was the Shayla versus Shelby issue. Several times throughout the entire series they used two different names to talk about the same girl. It's thrown the story off. It ticked me off. I would be following along and finally getting into the book and then someone screwed up.
Next is the blaring Spotlight on the fact that it's very beginning of the book they said that the kids didn't even know that the cousin existed. That they didn't know until a few weeks beforehand. And then at the end of the book series, within the last I'd say five chapters, Tristan tells his now known as sister that his uncle used to brag about her when they were kids. How is that even possible? If they didn't know that she existed? According to the beginning of the book they had no idea that they had a cousin. So how could he have been jealous of her growing up if they didn't know she existed? So that is all on the author. It was poor planning. You could have easily have said that the uncle had a kid that he had never met but had heard about. Instead of saying at the very beginning that no one had heard of her.
Next up we have axle. That last meeting with him, toward the end of the book series, he across her close to her back. And there was no explanation of what he was doing there. I thought that maybe a photo of them was going to appear online or something. I had no idea what he was doing there. Clearly she didn't. There was no explanation. Just all the sudden he's in this ritzy area and he doesn't fit in, and she's thinking about how horrible he looks and blah blah blah. None of it made sense. There was no connection. It didn't flow the story. It was like an afterthought that she just kind of threw in and it was like word regurgitation. It didn't connect.
Also there didn't seem to be a love connection between Jackson and are heroin. I read that he loved her. I read that he was trying to stick by her. But what I saw more was him pushing her away and saying I don't want you go find another life. And that was more believable than their love. I think that in the future the author needs to work on that connection. It's emotional connection. I've read other books by this author and I know that she can have that connection. It just seemed to fall flat in this series.
And another complaint I have, I realized that it seems that I have more complaints than I have positive and I'm sorry about that, is the fact that she wanted this relationship so badly with her father AKA uncle Devin however when she had the ability to see him, basically when he was pegged down in jail and she could go see him whenever she wanted to all of a sudden she doesn't want to see him? He did what she asked him to do. People around her would pay for their crimes. And she thanks him by deciding she doesn't want to see him in jail? That doesn't make any sense. Anyone that has an absentee father understands that that whole scenario at the end of the book made absolutely no sense.
I really wish there was an extra book to this series. Something to wrap it all up. Because honestly I think we all deserve to see something other. Some other ending. Because the ending that they had this time sucked. I want to know what happened when Jackson went back to school. I want to know what happened at graduation. I want to know if they played football in the next semester. I want to know what comes next. There were too many cliffhangers. Too many unanswered questions. I think that the series needs another book.
So again I enjoyed the series story. The idea was there. But I wasn't happy with the series in total. Anyway I'd be interested in seeing what other people think.

Awesome conclusion to the Twisted Pine Academy series. What I loved? How everything came together and we got a fitting conclusion for most things. I kind of wish that we could have seen Andrea get her justice but overall I think the story was wrapped up well. There was an inconsistency with Devon telling Trystan about Rumor in this book. The very first book Trystan said he never heard a word about her, that she was a complete surprise. Then in this book Trystan tells her Devon was proud of her and he always wished his Dad would have been proud of him. Maybe the author forgot that? Idk. I do know that I Binger the whole series in two days. It is worth reading, has a complicated plot with a lot of mystery and romance. I recommend reading this series!
The series was very good with lots of suspense although quite predictable in parts. I also didn’t really like Jackson and Rumor all that much. I felt like they got together too quickly and were already with the “I love you’s” when Jackson still seemed hung up on Kristen and Rumor seemed too easily swayed by Jackson’s words. Rumor I thought could have a been a stronger FMC and Jackson a more likeable and believable MMC. I didn’t really sense real chemistry. Having said this, the story of the series itself was very entertaining and I’m glad I stuck through it to the 4th book. There were times I was ready to DNF the series but I felt like I’ve already invested too much and wanted to know how it ended.
The Story, The Multiple Murders, The Manipulations are All Uncovered
The final book in the Twisted Pines series.
Yep. This is where everything is resolved.
We find out what happened the night of Andrea’s death, and who was responsible for killing Kirsten, leaving her body on the beach in front of Jackson’s house.
We also find out more about the relationship between Brock, Sonia ( Rumors mother) and Devon (Rumors father ?)
Overall this was a satisfying conclusion to the drawn out murder mystery of Twisted Pine Academy.
Okay,to wards the end the murders weren’t THAT hard to figure out, but it was still enjoyable reading it all play out.
I really enjoyed this series, I couldn’t put it down. The main characters were great with in-depth backgrounds, it’s set in a cool little rich town. Loved the suspense and twist and turns, also the steamy scenes were great. Overall it was an awesome series and look forward to wading more books from Kai in the future.
Read the complete series in less than 3 days. I couldn’t put it down. The characters are well written and the plot is a bit unbelievable in certain parts but the only adds to the charm.
Solve the mystery and resolve your heartache. Who killed who and who would do it again in the end. Do Rumor and Jackson finally get their happily ever after, must read to find out.
There were somethings like the flash drive and video that were mentioned and never brought up again. Those kind of things drive me crazy when they are not explained.
