Years after escaping Hawkins Lab, two of Dr. Brenner's former subjects seek to live normal lives. ''I can say with certainty this book is well worth reading — it adds to the TV show in surprising and satisfying ways.'' -AiPT! A pyrokinetic Hawkins Lab subject! See the true effects of Dr. Brenner's meddling experiments.
I haven't seen Stranger Things (although it's a show that I've been meaning to watch) but I couldn't pass up an opportunity to read something written by Houser. She wrote Amazing Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows, and it's one of my all-time favorites!
I really liked the setup for this story, but more background information would've been helpful in this first issue. Maybe more flashbacks to give me a better understanding of the characters? Honestly, I can't recall their names and I read it a few hours ago. I know one of the main characters is a twin, and she escaped a really bad experimental facility with someone else. I'm definitely interested, but it didn't grab me from the start. If you've watched the show, this issue might make more sense! (★★★☆☆)
"STRANGER THINGS: INTO THE FIRE #1, out January 8th from Dark Horse comics, is a dramatic start to yet another tale from the Stranger Things universe. If you felt like the story of the original test subjects wasn’t over, you won’t be disappointed with what is about to begin here.
Stranger Things: Into the Fire is the perfect series for fans who enjoyed the last series (Stranger Things: SIX). Set several years after those events, we’re following the lives of the text subjects that were around before Eleven was born.
After the conclusion of SIX fans might have found themselves wondering what happened to the two subjects who escaped: Ricky and Marcie. Well, you need not wonder anymore, for Into the Fire is about to explore their ensuing adventures."

Great start and it's nice to have a continuation to the "Stranger Things: Six" comics. So far this one looks like it has a lot more interesting potential to actually act upon events than the last two volumes.
Ooh, an interesting start, tying together the previous comic series and season... two (I think?) of the show. That's the best part of these comics - finding out more about the other kids from the lab.
Feel like I was missing a few pages didn’t seem to make much sense, have the next one preordered for next month so I’ll see what that’s like when it’s out.
