Food blogger Hope Early takes on a cold case that's heating up fast . . .

Building on her recipe for success with her food blog, Hope at Home, Hope is teaching her first blogging class at the local library in Jefferson, Connecticut. She's also learning about podcasts, including a true-crime one called Search for the Missing, hosted by Hope's childhood friend, Devon Markham. Twenty years ago on Valentine's Day, right here in Jefferson, Devon's mom disappeared and was never found. Finally Devon has returned to solve the mystery of what happened to her mother--and she asks Hope to help.

The next day Hope discovers Devon's apartment has been ransacked. Her laptop with the research on her mother's cold case is missing, and Devon is nowhere to be found. When her friend's body is later discovered in a car wreck, Hope is convinced it's no accident. Clearly, Devon was too close to the truth, and the cold-blooded killer is still at large in Jefferson. Now it's up to Hope to find the guilty party--before the food blogger herself becomes the next subject of another true-crime podcast . . .

Food blogger Hope Early has a full plate running her popular blog, Hope at Home; doing freelance work; and teaching a blog class at the local library. Living in the Northwest hills of Connecticut in the winter with her pets—Bigelow (dog), Princess (cat), and a couple of chickens; she also enjoys spending time with her boyfriend, Ethan, the chief of police.

Hope has a knack for solving mysteries, and when the daughter of a missing woman returns to town determined to find out what happened to her mother 20 years before; Hope’s mixed up in the middle of the old cold case.

A swift, tight plot keeps this cozy novel moving and grooving. Hope is a strong protagonist backed up with a variety of interesting secondary characters. The killer reveal and truth about the circumstances leading up to the murders is clever and I actually had my suspicions about this character, but didn’t know the motive until the end. A final yummy perk is the tasty recipes the author shares after the story. I highly recommend this fourth story in the Food Blogger series.

I honestly reviewed a digital ARC provided by NetGalley and Kensington Publishing. Thank you.

Having already adored this series since book one, I was truly over the top excited for, THE CORPSE WHO KNEW TOO MUCH. I have felt connected to lead character, Hope, from the beginning. It’s been fun to read about a fellow blogger, even if we do blog about different things.

This is perhaps my favorite book in the Food Blogger Mysteries so far. I’ve enjoyed watching, author Debra Sennefelder, flesh out and grow her cast of characters. Characters I both love, and love to not like. They are layered with wonderful, and not so perfect layers. She truly is a gifted writer.

Sennefelder’s gift of writing doesn’t stop at creating rich characters. She uses it to superbly pen mysteries that keep the reader both intrigued and engaged. That talent is doubled in, THE CORPSE WHO KNEW TO MUCH, which features murder both past and present.

Trying to follow along with everything that was going on in this story, both delighted me and made my head spin (in a good way). Seriously, for as many cozy mysteries as I have read, it’s rare for me to figure out whodunit. But with author Sennefelder at the helm, I didn’t even stand a fair chance. She has a way of sidetracking me every time I think I’m on to something. I’d get all excited because I just knew I had it all worked out, and she would pull the rug out from under me. LOL Well done, Debra. Brava!

Above, I mentioned this may be my favorite book in the series so far. Honestly, there’s no maybe about it. THE CORPSE WHO KNEW TOO MUCH win hands down.

Cold cases can come back to kill and Hope is about to find that out up close and personally! The plot of this book is simply outstanding! It is complicated with a few twists and turns to delight and entertain for hours on end. I found myself simply turning page after page as I could no more put the book down than the main character could stop asking questions. I love that the main character is an intelligent, independent woman who asks the right questions albeit often leading her into uncomfortable encounters with others. The realistic reactions of the characters around her make this book all that more compelling. I absolutely have fallen in love with this series!

Dollycas’s Thoughts

Twenty years ago on Valentine’s Day, a woman went missing. The mother of Hope’s friend Devon Markham. She was never found and now Devon is back in Jefferson, Connecticut to find out what happened to her mom and she asks Hope for her assistance. But the very next day, Devon is missing and all her notes about her mother’s case are gone too. Later, Devon is found dead after what appears to be a traffic accident but Hope knows better. Devon was onto the killer’s trail and had to be stopped. Now Hope has picked up the case and is determined to catch the killer even though she may die trying.

Hope Early’s blog is far more successful than my blog with corporate sponsors and a huge following. She is so busy she has hired an assistant to help her meet all her commitments. She also has a little help with her chickens and home projects. Teaching a class about starting a blog seems like a natural fit. She has a little spare time to spend with Boyfriend/Chief of Police Ethan Cahill but they both get busier when there is yet another murder investigation.

Hope is an interesting amateur sleuth and she is all in to find the person who killed her friend as well as solving a 20-year-old case. She receives some nice assists from friend Drew and her sister Claire. These core characters are all very well developed. I love the way they work together to a common goal. The bit of sibling rivalry between Claire and Hope is always spot-on.

This mystery really tugged on my heartstrings. How awful to lose your mother with no explanation. Did she walk away from her family? Was she kidnapped? Is she alive somewhere? or dead nearby? I totally understood Devon’s need to find the truth and was so upset when her body was found. I was so wrapped up in the story my suspect list was all over the place and I never honed in on anyone. I was intrigued by all the information Devon had gathered about her mom and that she had done other “Search for the Missing” podcasts before tackling the one closest to her heart. Ms. Sennefelder does an excellent job of blending some intense situations with some lighthearted moments to keep the story well in the cozy realm but some of Hope’s tactics made me a little nervous. All the clues were cleverly placed and the big reveal was a total surprise.

I love the food blogger theme of this series. I always seem to learn something from Hope even though our blogs are totally different. The recipes she posts had my tastebuds tingling. Yes, the recipes are included at the end of the book.

The Corpse Who Knew Too Much had a different feel than other books in this series. The characters are engaging, and the story really grabbed me but my heart really clung to Devon and her story. I really loved the ending and that Hope has now dipped into the idea of podcasts. I am excited to see how she may use them going forward.

Hope Early is a very busy person. Creating and cooking new recipes for her food blog, teaching a blogging class at the local library, and getting involved in yet another murder, she doesn’t have much time for herself.

Hope’s high school friend, Devon, is back in town, with her true-crime podcast, to investigate the disappearance of her mother twenty years prior. She plans to turn the town upside down and shake it until she gets her answers. When she turns up dead, it is up to Hope to find those answers. Someone in town has been keeping decades-old secrets and they don’t want them to come out.

This is another great mystery from this author. The clues add up bit by bit and lead in an interesting direction. She also does a fantastic job of letting the reader in on the nitty-gritty of blogging and social media presence. Those touches, along with mouth-watering descriptions of the various recipes and dishes Hope tries out on her friends and family make this a must read.

This is book four so there is a bit of history in the story and between the characters. I do think it reads well as a standalone, but it would be worth it to start at the beginning just to get the flair and of course the recipes, several of which are included at the end of the story.

Rating: 4 out of 5.

The Corpse Who Knew Too Much is the 4th book in the Food Blogger Mysteries series. I picked up this series with The Hidden Corpse (book 2), and I also thoroughly enjoyed book 3, Three Widows and a Corpse.

In this fabulous cosy mystery, Hope Early is looking forward to teaching her first blogging class at the local library in Jefferson, Connecticut, whilst continuing with her food blog, 'Hope at Home' as well as learning about Podcasts. An old school friend, Devon Markham, is hosting a true crime Podcast 'Search for the Missing' and Devon's own mother vanished without a trace twenty years ago. She has asked Hope for some help with the cold case and Hope readily agrees, but then Devon is found dead at the scene of a car crash...

Protagonist Hope had such a lot going on in this book, but still managed to spend time with her pets - adorable doggy, Bigelow, Princess, the cat, and a couple of chickens; she also enjoys her time with her boyfriend, Chief of Police, Ethan Cahill. Hope is a great character and she possesses the necessary attributes of any great sleuth: intelligence, curiosity and keenness, and she's never too busy to help others.

I was sold on this compulsive story from the very beginning, and Debra Sennefelder continued to impress me with her fluid writing. The details of the plot were very well-executed, the story was amusing and easy to follow, and every chapter left me with a compelling need to read on. The story was brimming with humour, scrumptious food, and lots of suspects and clues were scattered throughout. Debra Sennefelder's way of seamlessly fitting Hope's new recipes into the story was excellent, and some yummy recipes are included at the end of the book. The killer reveal was very clever, and although I had my suspicions, the motive eluded me until the very end.

This was a tremendously good novel and I am looking forward to reading book five. If you adore a fantastic cozy mystery, don't miss out on The Corpse Who Knew Too Much.

I received a complimentary copy of this novel at my request from Kensington Books via NetGalley. This review is my own unbiased opinion.

Hope has the perfect job for someone who likes to cook and write, a food blogger, and now she is adding teacher to her list of incredible talents. In the newest addition to the culinary "A Food Blogger Mystery" series, The Corpse Who Knew Too Much, Hope is busy solving a mystery and finding a killer while trying to keep herself out of trouble. But it isn't going to be easy, and she ends up doing precisely what she swore she wouldn't, investigating a homicide of an old school friend.

Characters in this series have endless traits that are endearing, and some that are irritating. Hope and her sister, Claire, always seem to be on opposite sides when it comes to sleuthing. Not because they don't want the crimes solved, they just have vastly different ways of being involved. As business people, Hope, a culinary blogger, and her sister, a home stager, both know what it takes to make things work, and even when they don't see eye-to-eye, they respect and love each other. Hope's boyfriend Ethan, the chief of police, doesn't play as big of a role in this book as he has in the past. I would have liked to have Ethan more involved. Readers will love Drew and want to have him in every story.

There are plenty of suspects and a good mystery which is well written, entertaining, and will keep readers guessing. Twists and turns are peppered throughout The Corpse Who Knew Too Much, and motives are easy to understand. This book could stand on its own, and anyone who has not read any of the other books in the series will have no problem figuring out the main character's roles. The recipes sound delicious and are easy to follow if you want to try your hand at cooking one of them or all of them. I love the blogger aspect of these books; it is very much in sync with today's world. I am happy to recommend this book and the entire series to anyone who enjoys great characters, delightful recipes, and a mystery you won't figure out on the first page.

I really enjoyed this cozy. There was a lot going on in this book. Even though this was my first book from this series, I didn’t feel lost at all. The mystery revolved around a woman who went missing years ago and her daughter runs a podcast, who is also friends with our heroine, Hope. Devon’s podcast basically talks about the events leading upto her mom’s disappearance. And I myself have been bingeing with the crime coven podcast the last couple of weeks,, so no doubt I enjoyed this story a lot. And of course, Devon is killed and Hope gets involved. The mystery was engaging and kept me guessing. There were a lot of Personal things happening in Hope’s personal life such as her blogging class at the library and her home renovation which adds a nice cozy touch.I think I might have to go and start at book 1 now 😁 My thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an opportunity to read this book.

The Corpse Who Knew Too Much earns 5/5 Cold Cases...Entertaining!

Debra Sennefelder has penned a delightful page turner with a food blogger perfecting her amateur detecting skills on a few murders plaguing Jefferson, Connecticut. Sennefelder’s well-written drama centers around Hope Early who seems to manage well her busy schedule running a successful blog, Hope at Home, and expanding to teaching blogging at the local library. She’s also remodeling her old farmhouse, navigating a romantic relationship with the local detective, and as circumstances have it she’s become interested in podcasting. She sure could use a few extra hours in the day or maybe an assistant. Devon Markham is a new resident in town with a popular podcast, Search for the Missing. Her main topic has been the twenty-year-old cold case of her own mother’s disappearance. Hope’s fascination turns serious when Devon is found murdered. Engaging! The drama is compelling, slowly revealing details of the cold case and connections to the recent murder. Using a third-person narrative, readers are kept engaged with a writing style filled with descriptive language and entertaining dialogue. Don’t think you’ll be able to figure out this one before the surprise conclusion...fun to try! Join right in with this fourth book’s drama since revisiting background and character connections from the three previous stories make it easy for newbies. Food Blog Treats! Hope Early shares her thoughts (a delightful addition) and easy-to-follow and varied recipes perfect for any stay-at-home meal: Three-Cheese Lasagna, Rustic Apple Pie, One-Bowl Brownies, Sunshine Corn Muffins, Sugar Cookies, and Double-Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies!

Disclosure: I received an ARC from Kensington Publishing thru NetGalley. My review is voluntary with honest insights and comments.

4th in Food Blogger Mysteries

Hope at Home is all set to teach her first blogging class at the library in Jefferson. She also is learning about podcasting from her childhood friend Devon Markham. Devon's mother went missing 20 years ago this Valentine's day and she's back to catch the killer. Hope is looking forward to a few days away with her boyfriend the chief of police. Devon has asked Hope for help in tracking down clues with her the night she visited Devon's apartment. The next day Claire, Hope's sister called her and said to come to her shop right away that she checked on Devon who had an apartment right above Claire 's shop. When she arrived what they walked into was a ransacked apartment. They reported to the detective that doesn't usually take them seriously for all the times they have interfered in his investigations.

Later that day she was with her friend Drew the reporter when he got a phone call saying that there was an accident, she tag alone with him to discover that it was Devon who went off the road into a ditch and was pronounced dead. Hope didn't believe it was an accident and told her boyfriend that the police chief.

So know she had 2 killer's to find one from 20 years ago and one form today because she believed that Devon found something out that got her killed.
With a New England blizzard on it's way to ruin her chance of a get away she puts all her engery in catching a killer. There where so many twist and turns in this story I couldn't figure out the killer or the reason, it came as a complete at in the end.

I love Hope at Home and all her helpful hints and recipes, it's like visting an old friend when I read one of her books. Can't wait for the next book in this series!!

This book just seemed to fly by for me. It was a one and a half day read and if I hadn't had some prior obligations on one of those days it would have been a one day read. I really enjoy the characters in this series. I especially enjoy the sibling relationship between Hope and Claire. Being a younger sister myself I can relate to some of the relationship issues that come with being younger. I love Drew, Hope's best friend. I love it whenever he gets the chance to show up Norrie. The one thing I think the characters go right in this book is Hope's penchant for accusing someone of a crime without all the information or evidence. It's a realization I think the characters came to in this book and perhaps there will be some growth in that area. I'm still out on how I feel about Hope and Ethan as a couple given he is the Chief of Police and she is such a busybody.

The mystery was well done and kept me guessing through the entire book. There is a murder that occurred 20 years ago that lead to the current murder of an old high school friend of Hope's. The murder involved this friend's mother and was complicated not only by the passage of time but the secrets that were being kept by some of the people in town. I was surprised by the identity of the killer. I thought I was on the right track with my guess but I was off (as usual).

This is a fun series and I enjoy catching up with Hope, Claire, Drew, and the rest of the cast. I voluntarily read a digital advanced reader copy provided to me by the publisher, Kensington, through Netgalley.

The Corpse Who Knew Too Much by Debra Sennefelder is the second book that I’ve read in the Food Blogger Mysteries and it was wonderful catching up with Hope, Jane, Drew, Claire, and the rest of the gang. This is book number four in the series and if you haven’t read any of the other books, Sennefelder gives you enough background and references to previous cases that you won’t be lost. Although with any series, starting from the first book is always a great idea so you can watch the characters grow and be privy to insider information. The Uninvited Corpse is book one in the series in case this is a new series to you.

Hope is going non-stop all of the time and is dealing with a lot; creating new recipes for her blog and all the things that come along with maintaining a blog, running a class at the local library, learning to do podcasts, remodeling/decorating her older farmhouse, working on her relationship with the town sheriff and his daughters, and solving not one, but three murders! It’s no wonder she’s finally hired an assistant to help with the administrative parts of her blogging business and someone to help around the house and with her chickens. And besides solving three murders she also figures out who’s been stealing small objects around her house. I’m tired just thinking of having to handle all of that.

But with giving Hope so many responsibilities, Sennefelder uses it to write a great cozy since there is always something happening. And while everything is going on, Sennefelder is continuing to have her main characters grow and make sure the new ones are well developed. And I feel like Sennefelder has really stepped up her game when it comes to including Hope making new recipes fitting seamlessly into the story, as well as all the yummy recipes at the end of the book. There’s a couple of cookie recipes that I know I will be trying out soon.

As far as the mystery went I was guessing for quite a bit of the book. Towards the end, one of the characters makes a comment that stuck out so I knew they were involved, but I wasn’t exactly sure as to the why. And I really enjoyed how Sennefelder incorporated a true crime podcast into the book since they are so popular and it seemed to give the cozy a bit of a darker feel. Not that it isn’t a true cozy, it just has a bit more menacing creepiness behind it.

Another excellent addition to the Food Blogger Mysteries and the cozy genre!

A pleasantly-paced, enjoyable cozy mystery . . .

Food blogger and amateur sleuth, Hope Early, lives in small-town Jefferson, Connecticut. Along with creating new recipes for her blog, Hope is teaching a beginning blogging class at the local public library. It is evident from her success as a blogger that she has a knack for reaching her audience, and she wants to share her expertise and experience with interested community members.

Some members of the local police force and community are irritated with Hope's amateur sleuthing. They feel she should stay out of the homicide investigation business since she's not trained. But when one of Hope's high school friends comes back to town to try to solve the disappearance of her own mother twenty years ago, Hope hesitantly gets on board to help.

Filled with agitated, defensive characters—male and female—and red herrings, this story leads the reader on a meandering path as Hope follows one clue after another in the search for the truth about what happened to her friend's mother twenty years ago. Along the way, the town is forced to deal with more foul play which results in more tragedy and heartache for Hope and the citizens of Jefferson.

There are some humorous side plots revolving around the antics of Hope's pets—Princess the diva cat and Buddy the energetic dog—which I thoroughly enjoyed. There is a bit of romance between Hope and the chief of police, Ethan. The author has generously included six recipes for dishes and baked goods which were highlighted in the story.

The book is completely clean in language and content.

I received a paperback copy of this book from the author through Great Escapes Virtual Book Tours. The opinions and thoughts expressed here are solely my own.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy from the Great Escapes Book Tours. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. The Corpse Who Knew Too Much by Debra Sennefelder is another terrific book written by this amazing author.
Can Hope figure out what happened to Devon and Devon’s mom twenty years ago?
Hope Early
Hope Early is not only our sleuth but a wonderful blogger herself. She runs her blog that specializes in not only food but things to do around the house. I have always loved reading about this series just for that fact alone. It’s great to see what other bloggers are out there, even though I still stand by my notion to be doing this book blog. If Hope were an actual person, I would probably be following her blog and trying out these delicious recipes that she is always making.
The Mystery
CORSPE WHO KNEW TOO MUCH CRHope gets asked by an old high school friend, Devon Markham, to help her out with her mom’s cold case from twenty years ago. She didn’t give Devon her answer right away, and then her old friend dies in a freak accident. So, Hope decides to investigate. Now with the ball rolling faster from what Devon had started with her true-crime podcast while trying to figure out what happened to her mom Joyce Markham. Let’s say I got stuck on a red herring; then I was clueless on who could have done it. Until the killer revealed themselves, and then I got the picture.

I feel so bad for the Markham family, even though they are a fictional family. So much happens to them within the span of twenty years. At least justice is finally going to be served, and they will finally know what happened to not only Devon but Joyce.
Five Stars
My rating for The Corpse Who Knew Too Much by Debra Sennefelder is five stars, and I give it my most outstanding recommendation. Ms. Sennefelder has done excellent work on figuring out everything for A Food Blogger Mystery series, and I love seeing what the characters are saying in my head as it unfolds. I need to start writing down the suspects, clues, and motives a bit better than what I have been doing to get it right next time potentially!

Let me know if you figure it out before the reveal at the end.

This is the 4th installment in this series, but the first I have read. I was immediately drawn in by the main character and the topic of blogging, as that is something that has always been super interesting, but I haven’t read about ever in a cozy. I am fascinated by cold cases, so that also perked my interest as I was reading.

Hope is a like able character. I enjoy her relationship with Ethan, but also the addition of her family members. There were a couple points where I was a little overwhelmed with all the characters and keeping them straight. I would like to go back to the beginning and read the first three, just so I have a better understanding of the character baseline. I will say, I loved all the recipes and I might actually go back and make one.

Thank you NetGalley for this ARC. All opinions in this review are my own.

Successful blogger Hope Early was busy with her food blog and teaching a newbie blogging class. However, when Devon, an old friend from high school, asked for help in solving her mom's disappearance 20 years ago she couldn't say no. Little did she know the terrible consequences that would result due to their investigating.

From this book I learned a little about blogging, got some great recipes and enjoyed the story too. Even though it is book #4 in A Food Blogger Mystery series it could easily be read as a stand alone. Thanks to Kensington and NetGalley for an ARC. The opinions expressed are my own.

I loved "The Corpse Who Knew Too Much" the 4th book in Debra Sennefelder's "A Food Blogger Mystery" series. Visiting Jefferson, Connecticut has become a pleasure, even in winter.

I love Hope as she is real and I have become invested in her and what is happening around her. I like her family and friends, Claire, Jane, Drew and of course Ethan (Police Chief boyfriend) and the dynamics between them all. Don't get me started on her dog Bigelow, Poppy the chicken and Princess the cat!

There was sadness in this book as they looked back on her childhood friends missing mum. With a few suspenseful moments as well as some lighthearted ones, but with plenty of twists and turns to keep us entertained. I did suspect the killer early on but I started second guessing myself as there was plenty of suspects.

I highly recommend this book and I cannot wait to see what’s next for Hope in this series and I look forward to reading the next book ...

The Corpse Who Knew Too Much is the fourth installment in the A Food blogger Mysteries series featuring blogger, Hope Early and set in the small town of Jefferson, Connecticut. Hope is basking in the success of her food blog, Hope at Home and is looking forward to teaching a class on blogging at the local library.

Hope's sister Claire has a new tenant moving into the apartment above her shop, Staged with Style and it turns out to be none other than an old classmate, Devon Markham. Devon is a popular podcaster and her true crime series, Search for the Missing has a strong following. Devon's latest project is to find out what happened to her mother, Joyce who disappeared without a trace one day while Devon and her sister, Felice were at school.

Devon sits down to discuss what she knows about her mother's disappearance with Hope and says that because Hope has experience solving mysteries she wants her to help close the cold case. When Devon suddenly disappears and is found murdered, Hope knows that she not only has to track down Devon's killer but also find out what happened twenty years ago to Joyce.

Teaming up with her boyfriend, Ethan and best friend and reporter, Drew - Hope must act quickly before she becomes the killer's next target. A fast paced plot with plenty of suspects, the right touch of romance, a delightful dog and a shocking reveal, this is a wonderful addition to the series.

I received an advanced copy of The Corpse Who Knew Too Much from NetGalley via Kensington Publishing. While not required to write a review I am happy to offer my honest opinion.

This is the fourth book in the Food Blogger mysteries by Debra Sennefelder.

Hope is teaching her first blogging class at the library and she is really liking it. One of her old friends, Devon, a podcaster, is back to town to research her mother’s disappearance for one of her podcasts. Then she turns up missing and all her research gone. Later her body is discovered and they now know that her mother’s disappearance was probably murder after all.

I really like this series. The whole blogging aspect really appeals to me. I wish the author would write an ebook about the ins and outs of blogging and how to do marketing and such. I would totally be interested in that. I love all the little tips she gives out.

This is one of those series I would probably start with book one and read up on the back story before digging into this one. But it can totally be read as a standalone.

Loved the intricate mystery and the cast. They compliment each other so well. Makes me want to stay in town and know what is going on day to day even when there isn’t a mystery afoot.

If you like cozy mysteries, definitely check this one out. You won’t be disappointed.

I received this as an ARC (Advanced Reader Copy) in return for an honest review. I thank NetGalley, the publisher and the author for allowing me to read this title.

I received free ebooks of both of these titles from NetGalley in exchange for fair reviews.
I was really excited to see the 4th Food Blogger mystery on NetGalley and requested in right away. I love this series about Hope and her blog, Hope at Home. This time winter has socked in with plenty of snow giving that sense of isolation to the town. An old friend of Hope’s has returned home determined to finally solve the disappearance of her mother. There are plenty of people in town who would just rather that “all that unpleasantness” be left to rest. When a new murder occurs, Hope knows there is a connection and sets out to find out what happened all those years ago.

The Corpse Who Knew Too Much is a great installment in the series. I loved the introduction of the true crime podcasting, it gives a very modern vibe to the cozy. This is a cozy that manages to maintain the traditional feel with characters you want to befriend, the warmth and small town appeal, and yet also brings in the modern world. Good mystery plot and a variety of characters and possible villains to choose from in the investigation. Great read for cozy fans!

The Corpse Who Knew Too Much is a cozy mystery featuring food blogger Hope Early. Hope finds herself playing detective to help solve the case of a missing person. Her high school friend Devon's mother disappeared twenty years ago. Devon has started a true crime podcast and asks Hope to help solve the mystery. As Hope investigates, more murders occur and she finds herself in danger.

I wanted to read this novel because I love "foodie" books, was intrigued by the blogging theme, and find missing person cold cases fascinating.

This is the fourth book in the Food Blogger Mysteries series. I have not read the earlier books and had a hard time keeping up with all the characters in this novel. A cast of characters page would be tremendously helpful. I suspect this is a novel best read in order with the series, not as a standalone.

The book is well written, with strong descriptions. Hope's food blogging was very interesting, and there is even a section with delicious sounding recipes, including Three-Cheese Lasagna, Rustic Apple Pie, and Sugar Cookies.

There were a number of possible suspects and the mystery kept me guessing! Hope discovered the murderer's identity before I did.

I always love cozy mysteries that feature pets, and enjoyed Bigelow, the rescue dog, and Princess, the cat.

I think that cozy mystery readers who also have an interest in cooking or blogging will be especially interested in The Corpse Who Knew Too Much.

The Corpse Who Knew Too Much by Debra Sennefelder is the 4th book in a Food Blogger Mystery series, and another good addition to the series. Hope Early is a food and lifestyle blogger, Hope at Home, who lives in Jefferson, Connecticut. Hope childhood friend, Devon, returns to Jefferson to solve her mother's disappearance twenty years ago. I really enjoy this series, the stories are so creative. This book has twists around every corner, which I enjoyed. I love the unique people and situations in this book. At one point a lot of people were verbally attacking Hope, I was thinking she is a far stronger person than I am. I found this book to be a quick read, with a well developed plot and characters. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series. If you love cozy mysteries, I highly recommend this book and series.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

I'm a big fan of anything to do with podcasts. Add in the fact that the podcaster is trying to figure out what happened to her mom twenty years ago and I am hooked. The story moved pretty quickly with Hope following leads and still working her day job (and often her sister's, too) and not making too many poor decisions. I enjoyed learning about how to create a blog and how much work goes into it. The characters are fun and quirky but at times, it was difficult to figure out what generation they were in - they all seemed to be the same age and then someone would mention they were friends with my mom - it got a little confusing. All in all, a good mystery and I'm ready for the next.

A food blogger/librarian/amateur sleuth is going to teach a blogging course in her small town. A true crime podcaster returns to town to solve the mystery of her mother's disappearance. Of course, someone doesn't want that particular mystery solved...

Of course, the local minx seems after the sleuth's man, and there are a host of other soap opera elements. to keep one distracted.

Pretty good, not over the top.

A very homey story about a blogger, interesting information, who seems to like that day to day cooking, too. A little disappointed with the ending as I felt sisters needed earfuls, but this isn't that kind of mystery.

The beginning of the novel started very well with us getting introduced to the cast and crew of this story, however, the narrative would have a lot of instances where it dragged and I couldn't stay engaged. What was a bit more frustrating was the significant other of the main character, I couldn't stand him, and even with Ethan having kids--it didn't elevate his position in my eyes to be Claire's partner.

There were several instances where he put himself in compromising situations, and brushed it off like it was nothing and would tell the heroine she was over thinking things and that she's jealous. You know what? I do like romance in cozy mysteries, but Claire hinted that her past relationship had someone hurt her and cheat on her. Yet... here's Ethan, who's the Chief of Police, doing things and actions that are not okay, even for me.

I also felt the story got lost after Claire started stating she wasn't lying to Ethan about her snooping around, and while I can understand in cozy whodunit stories, that this kind of situation happens a lot with the heroines. Ethan and Claire made me cringe, as he doesn't seem to care about her, and his action towards Claire about fixing up the room that his two daughters sleep in in her house.

That was the final straw, I don't agree with people pleasing for heroines, and while Claire is a recovering one, Ehtan enables those actions. I lost the whole point of the story with how weird their relationship was, and then we'd get thrown back into the story.

The flow of the story was not fluid and hard to keep up with with all the random love moments (if they even were romantic moments), and then boom dead bodies everywhere.

With blogging becoming more and more popular with a younger audience and her food blog...Hope at Home....pulling larger numbers every day, Hope Early is asked by local library to teach a class on blogging. Cooking, blogging and amateur sleuthing as hobbies, Hope's days are busy. When an old friend who hosts a podcast focused on cold case crimes asks Hope for help, she's not sure she has time. But the cold case this friend is reviewing is her own mother's disappearance. Not long after agreeing to help, Hope's friend is found dead in a car wreck....accident or murder?

The Corpse Who Knew Too Much is a great read. The story line is based on current trends, using social media to help investigate a cold case committed long before any of this was available. A great story line, solid characters and lots of actions to keep reader's interest. Debra Sennefelder's Food Blogger series is a great addition to my TBR pile and one I'm sure to watch for the next volume.
