A frozen prince calls for a hero. The Fires send him a warrior.
For Rahim, life with his warrior brothers couldn’t be better, now that they’re not fighting for their survival on a pirate ship. Free to soar through space, Rahim and his kif are on a mission to explore their way home. When they get a cryptic invitation from a mysterious source, they eagerly answer the call.
Prince Nanuq is facing his wedding day. To live in the harsh frozen landscape, his people have adapted. Royals are married to entire tribes of men to ensure an heir. But Nanuq never accepted the burly tribal leader he’s been betrothed to all his life. And he wants more than a life of ice.
Though everyone made fun of him for it, Nanuq alone knows how to listen to the falling snow, and the drifts have been telling him for years that his mate is elsewhere.
Desperate to escape the destiny his family has laid out for him, he sends an invitation for his wedding to the man the snow has been telling him about his whole life. It’s his last hope.
The Asraf warriors expect an interesting vacation or an intriguing mystery, but as Rahim and his kif break through the ice, they find a landscape much harsher than they expected, and a prince who needs their rescuing.
Rahim is the fifth book in The Kif Warriors, an alien mpreg series. This series is the first co-write between Crista and Kiki. They’ve joined forces to bring you all the humor, magic, steam and action that you enjoy!
Rahim is the resident kif slut. He's not looking for a mate because he has too much fun playing the field. Nanuq is a pure as the driven snow. And the snow tells Nanuq Rahim is destined to be his warrior and it's time to stop the old tradition of giving a prince to a clan of men to breed. But, no one wants to believe Nanuq and everyone is stuck on tradition. And the clan leader, Mala, won't take no for an answer.
I liked this one better than the last. Nanuq is sweet and innocent. When he realizes Rahim is his, he will do anything to be with him. Rahim never resisted either and was willing to fight for Nanuq.
I did feel like it was a little rushed. I wish we had more time of them together and everything just fleshed out more. Like . After the way he acted I was expecting something to come of that and it didn't. If it was a little longer and a little more happened, this would have been 5 stars for me. But I still enjoyed it. I hate to think there's only one book left. I've enjoyed this series for the most part. Except Cillian and he even pissed me off in this book too lol.
I freaking love this series! And it's almost over with, which makes me want to cry. I've loved travelling, fighting, and loving with this kif for all these five (soon to be six - can't wait!) books and I really don't want to leave that world behind. Perhaps a spin-off series could be a potential future project, hint hint?
The thing is, yeah these books are great with the hot man-love stuff, but they each also have great storylines, characters, plot development, and heart (along with correct spelling, grammar, and syntax) something many books in the m/m genre sorely lack. Which is why both these authors, separately and as a team, are such a pleasure to read.
So. I’m really in love with this series, but I am not a happy camper with the cliffhanger that was at the end of this one. *ahem* But with this one, I think I will have to say it’s my favorite in all of them so far, because in this one, not only did the ‘fates’ intervene about who were mates, the mating was earned. It wasn’t just a boom you’re my mate and it’s over kind of deal. It was decided by fates, yes, but it was honestly earned and there was no backing away from it. Even with the opposition trying to use tricks, it was honest from Rahim’s side because he was going to prove that he was worthy of the prince. Everyone in Rahim’s kif was surprised when their ship received the missive for them to come to Prince Nanuq’s joining. What was even more surprising was that Rahim was picked specifically. When they got to the planet, and they saw the beings before them, Rahim spotted one that stood out from the crowd in beauty and so much more. And he knew immediately why. But he knew he would have to touch him to be sure. But with the planet being nothing but ice and snow, it was hard to touch Nanuq with all the layers on him. But Rahim was determined. Put off by everyone so he didn’t get to be near Nanuq, because he was promised to someone else, Rahim refused to be denied and set out to plan what to do. With Fazil’s help, they made a plan and what happened could no longer be denied. But the promised mate wasn’t accepting of it so they had to have a challenge, which Rahim readily accepted. He would take them all on at once and tried to until the level headed ones made him take his time. But was going to prove his worth and he did. But one of Nanuq’s father doesn’t seem so accepting and it’s going to be another battle to get him to let go and approve. Like I said, my favorite part of this was the fact that Rahim earned his mate. Not that his mate was a prize or owned or anything like that. But he was going to go down to his death, if that’s what it took, to prove he was worthy of the Prince. And he’d prove it to anyone he had to. Send 50 fighters, he’d take them all on to prove it. And he fought with smarts and in conditions that were different to him and still became the victor. He had to fight overcoming odds with 1 parent of Nanuq’s for sure. Possibly 2. And he was going to do it. NO matter what it took. Because that’s what you do for your mate, if needed. You go to the extremes to prove what is necessary to show you will love, cherish and protect them. Not only that, but Rahim was interested in how Nanuq really thought and felt. And it was obvious, no one else around him really was. Except for 2 of his other fathers. The others started to come around eventually. I just really love the devotion and everything Rahim did to prove to EVERYONE, he was a male of worth for this special Prince. I will be sad, after I get to read Samun. Knowing this will be the end of the series. It’s been a fun one, with all the different personalities and stuff around. It’s brought laughter and tears and with this next one, I’m anxious to see where it’s going to end. Because the ending of this one, left for one heck of a set up for the next one.
Once again, these two talented authors have written a really intriguing MM/Mpreg alien romance & it is the fifth book in the series. The plot is entertaining, well-written & suspenseful with some intriguing situations. There is good scene descriptions & world building. The unique characters are well-developed individuals that are realistically emotional flawed & have good chemistry. The secondary characters offer some good support. There is: a sweet & innocent prince (Nanuq) is desperate to escape his so-called destiny where he is suppose to marry an entire tribe of men but then a playboy Kif warrior (Rahim) comes into his life & the situation changes, a conniving tribesman (Mala), various kinds of aliens, fated mates, adventure, action, twists & turns, drama, intrigue, some suspense, humor, visions, traditions, threats, danger, some conflict, violence, challenges, confrontations, jealousy, devious intentions, decisions, compromises, determination, surprises, contentment, some steamy scenes & a very interesting epilogue. I really enjoyed reading this book & look forward to next book with great anticipation.
This was different from the other with the snow and the multiple mates and the forming of the baby practically overnight. I didn't enjoy Rahim's attitude and bragging at the fights. I found it to be a little cavalier and stupid since he really had no clue, but the story was enjoyable.
I wanted to love this book since the synopsis sounded the best out of the lot, but unfortunately I was sorely disappointed.
I think after binging this series, that niggling *something* about what I found so unlikable about the kif/the Asraf in general finally revealed itself.
They assume the moral and cultural high ground with every peoples/place their mates come from even as they preach acceptnce about cultural differences. Yet, this was a quality that Cillian needed to change for his story arc. Don't see that flaw needing assessment for the kif though because apparently they're perfect? And it shows so heavily in this book since Ramul just seems to have this in spades, I actually hated everything about him precisely because he doesn't attempt to put himself in other's shoes.
Now I don't expect a lot going into books like this in the first place, but this veiled superiority complex really starts getting old and tastless. The fact that all their mates eventually become assimilated into their ways and beliefs about the Asraf, the lightning and the Fires is enough to prove this, the hypocrisy of the kif just doesn't work for me anymore. And yeah, their mates were in pretty bad situations, but that in itself, only showing how their ways are bad and the Astaf are better sent alarm bells for me since book one.
Ramul really was a special gem in proving all this, his complete lack of respect for Nanuq's people and traditions as well as his flaunting of his claim to Mara in the beginning there in light of all the wasted preparations gone into the engagement at the expense of his own people really irked me given that no regard was given to Mara or his own village when the kif arrive. They were just lumped as the one dimensional baddies because the story needed bad guys, it just didn't work once all the plot holes started showing.
The obvious bias in the thinking process of the writing when the king would rather side with complete foreigners (whom they knew for like less than a day at that point!) rather than with the man who they arranged a pact with for decades really made no sense either.
I'll still read Samun's story though it's more to complete the series since I know even if it were brought up (doubt) I don't think I should expect an in-depth reflection on their part. I think I would have enjoyed this series a lot more if I simply paced myself and took long periods between each book. As standalones, they're decent stories but when one merges into the other when reading it back to back and thinking about it too much, the kif starts to leave a bitter taste in your mouth.

Very entertaining installment. Hoping this series ends on a high note. If Samun’s book is as good as this one, it will.
The action and magic in this book were intriguing and engaging. We’ve gotten to see a bit of Rahim in the previous books, but this was the first time Nanuq has an appearance. I do wish we’d gotten to see them together more, but the focus was primarily on the challenges for Rahim to win his hand against Mala and his guys. I loathe harem tropes, but the way Nanuq’s fathers were written was kind of sweet. They actually love each other. And I was glad none of them were really pushing Nanuq to follow their path. They rely on tradition, yes, but they’re not cruel or closed off to their son’s well being and happiness.
I also wish the time difference between Nanuq’s race and the Alliance’s general time had been explained more. I mean, Nanuq is 150, but considered to be just now becoming a man at that age. And at the end, you realize any of the king and his men can have a child, so why didn’t each of them do that to have 5 kids instead of just Nanuq? Even if they’re only fertile every ten years or so as Nanuq tells Rahim, they could have had many more between the 5 of them, as well as 5 more every ten years from when Nanuq was born to his “joining” 150 years later. Even if I misunderstood that only the king can bare the children, he could have still had one every ten years. Kind of a big plot hole. But still an enjoyable story if you don’t dig too deep or think too hard about it, lol.
The birth “forming” aspect in this installment was different from anything I’ve read before, even in omegaverse. Nanuq does produce his own slick, which is a first in this series. However, their intimate scenes are short and not too detailed. I still felt their love and desire for each other though. The birthing scene was kind of funny. Even though Fazil is known as the goofy one, Rahim has a fun sense of humor.
This book had the least amount of errors I think. There were still two words that can’t seem to be spelled consistently throughout the series (Falan vs Fallan and obsilium vs obsillium), but that’s to be expected at this point unfortunately.
Looking forward to finishing up this series and seeing Samun get his HEA.
I liked this one, they meet such an interesting new species, though I would have liked to see a bit more of Nanuk's power.
Poor Rahim had it rough trying to win over Nanuk's fathers. And really, even though I found it a bit frustrating I couldn't hate the King and his consorts. They really thought that based on their own experience they were doing the right thing. And really, many people think like that, just because they did something one way and they got it right then everyone else has to do the same to be happy or successful, or the other way around if they did something and it went wrong then everyone else has to avoid doing it... But well, every person is different, we have different likes and dislikes and different priorities. I am glad that they saw that Nanuk had chosen his own path and let him go. Also, I would totally read their story if the author ever decide to write it, Nanuk's fathers were really interesting characters... Even Aput.
The birthing scene in this book ended up being really funny to me, Rahim was caught by surprise and was panicking. The authors really come up with so many different ways of mpreg.
Now on to the last book.
POV: dual Tropes: interstellar era, fated mates, found family, prince mc, mpreg. Spice: medium low ( short detailed scenes, alien peen) CW: blood, violence.
Thank you for the ARC read, I voluntarily give this book an honest review. What will happen when you listen to your environment, the snow spoke to Prince Nanuq of visions that await. What if those vision didn't always meet with exceptions. Promised to others while his soul called for another. How will his fathers handle the arrival of his chosen much. Rahim received an invitation a random spot in space, attending a joining for a Prince of something a place his Kif had never heard of before this moment. On a planet covered in ice and snow, only to meet a vision that declaresthe snow told him they was destined to be. Just loved this book, how can you not get hook when it starts off with environment that demands the attention of the Prince. Leading him to his future even if it's unseen or known to everyone else. When destiny calls the body must follow Nanuq and Rahim have a destination in a universe just waiting to be unlocked.
Book 5 was my least favorite in this series so far. I think that was simply due to the under developed MCs relationship. The book was focused on the other dynamics and winning the battle which was important but in the process we didn't really get to see these MCs together.
The world building was nice in this book. We learned of a magical Frozen type world with magic. I found that to be really interesting but even the MPREG parts were less explained than other books. A forming? What is that? Magic?
I also felt like some things were not clarified or rectified in this story. What about Mala? I don't want to spoil anything so I'm just going to say what about Mala?
Overall, it was an important book for this series and if you have read all the first 4 books you will need to read this one, if for no other reason that that ending! I'm scared to read book 6 but I'm going in!
Nanuq takes one last chance before he Is given away to breed. He sends an invitation to the man he knows is his, but will the man show, and can he save Nanuq? When Rahim does come everything changes for Nanuq. Rahim will fight for his mate and do whatever is necessary to keep him.
I enjoyed seeing Rahim and Nanuq find their way. The two make a great couple. Nanuq is stronger and smarter than he looks. Rahim is a good man who will not let anything stand in the way of him getting his mate. It was nice to see the attraction between the two turn into something deeper. The author does a good job of giving readers a story with strong characters and a good plot. Their story is a great addition to the series. It has a nice mix of emotion and action. I was quickly pulled into the story and engaged all the way to the end.
One of my favorite book in the series. Definetely my favorite mate although I was mildly irritated/amused by the name - Nanuq. Not sure if the authors did that on purpose hearing it somewhere and thinking nobody from my country would read it but NANUK (reads same) means POPSICLE in my language!! It was either bad joke or 1 in milion coincidence. Poor Nanuq, he really didn't deserve it - he's sweet and naive but he's also very brave and smart and though misunderstood still kind. I only wish we would get to meet him earlier.
The story reminds more of a fairytale than alien story (which is another con for me) but it was very well written and I was completely immersed the whole time and felt every single emotion. There wasn't anything (except the name) I was seriously annoyed by. I mean writingwise. The bad guy was annoying and obnoxious a$$hole - again a bit fairytale stereotype but there's not many options how to write lovelorn lover I guess.
No spoilers of any kind included. So this is what I’m going to say about Rahim and that is it is absolutely addicting and amazing! I was completely hooked before I had even finished the first page and I stayed ensnared right until the end of the story where I was left wanting and needing more. I definitely cannot wait until book 6 is here because Kiki Burrelli and Crista Crown definitely know how to weave unforgettable stories together and I look forward to reading more of their blended work. So yes I most definitely do recommend this book because I loved it and I can honestly guarantee you will too.
I really liked how Rahim could tell who his mate was. I felt his excitement when it did happen and it made me smile. I like how Nanuq, though a Prince, tried hard not to let anyone push him around and he tried to stand up for what was his. I felt the connection between the two.
There was plenty of action which is something I like in my stories and of course a bit of heat. The romance was sweet even at times when they had to fight for it. I also enjoyed the secondary characters.
I’m excited to read the others in this series and to know what happens next. I haven’t read any of the others in this series and I didn’t feel lost.
OMG! This fifth book in the series is amazing!! As in a fairytale a prince is waiting for a knight in a shining armor (or dark scales) to save him of a forced marriage (or joining). The story is about choice and love between mates but they really need to overcome a lot of obstacles to be together. I don’t want to spoil it for you but the scenes of the fighting are exceptional. As each book in this series is far more better and interesting than the previous one, I am excitedly waiting to see what Kiki Burrelli and Crista Crown are planing for the next one. Brilliant! I received this book as an ARC and this is my honest opinion.
Rahim is the fifth book in The Kif Warriors series by Kiki Burrelli and Crista Crown. This is an alien mpreg romance with fated mates, lots of humor, touches of magic and steamy but sweet love. With also are treated with some great action scenes, and a sprinkling of drama and conflict. I absolutely loved the story of Rahim and Nanuq, and it's always a fun time reading about this "family" of Kif Warriors. I can not wait to read the next (final) book of the series this journey has been a blast!
I may have to reread from the beginning to make sure, but this was the best installment of the Warrior Kif series so far! Rahim and Nanuq's story was so fairy tale lovely, kind of reminded me of Sleeping Beauty (minus the sleeping part). It was also hilarious!!!...forming a child indeed! Lol Thoroughly enjoyed and OMG to the preview of the next and final story! (sob)
I could not put this book down. It free me in and wouldn't let me go. Nanuq and Rahim are explosive together. I can't imagine having what happens to Nanuq overnight happen. I mean it's probably better than how long we have to wait, but I also loved the process and how much closer it brought me and my husband. I can't wait to read the next book! I highly recommend reading this book, but make sure you read the rest of the books in order first.
As the boys continue on their journey home, Rahim gets an unexpected invitation to an ice planet to attend a wedding. But he wedding turns out to be that of his mate's...to another man! Whew boy! Rahim is jacked! Lots of challenges ensue to Rahim can win his man. The only thing that I don't get is how is an ice prince supposed to acclimate to an arid, desert climate when they get back home?
I love Nanuq and Rahim's story! Kiki Burrelli and Crista Crown has made another absolutely amazing story together. The world they have built makes me feel like I am there with the characters. Then the story is filled with action, humor, and of course HOT steamy love. I just couldn't put this book down and now I can't not wait for Samun's story!
Well this book was full of excitement and love when Rahim finds his mate, Prince Nanuq, and must totally fight for him since Nanuq was promised to another tribe. I loved the way they fit so sweetly together. The writing was excellent and the characters are always so fascinating (since they're aliens). I was truly pulled into the story and enjoyed it from beginning to end.
4.5 stars The Snows tell Nanuk to send out a message...he' hoping his Warrior will come save him from a loveless match. Rahim arrives just in time but must face some tough challenges to be allowed to keep his mate. Nanuk does come off a little immature at times. For 150 year-old, his fathers have kept him quite sheltered.
What can I say? The dynamic duo of Kiki Burrelli and Crista Crown have written , fascinating, fantastic, grab-you-by-the-feels, amazing, sweet, poignant, sexy, interesting, action packed, adventurous, fresh, original, unique, and totally awesome tale of where no man (or alien) has gone before.
Prince Nanuq was about to be joined with the tribal warriors on his planet. He has a gift of hearing from the snow spirits on his planet and they told him a warrior named Rahim, so he sent an invitation. Rahim and his kif answered the call. I love this series.
Nanuq and Rahim were adorable. I can’t believe that there’s only one more book to go in the series. Definitely a must read series and I can see myself rereading it. Now comes the tough part... the wait! Highly recommended for a sweet Mpreg series. Happy reading
This book was THE BEST!!! I LOVED the snowy planet and how Nanuq could hear the snow. What a marvelous idea (I wish I could do that)! I loved the dynamics between Nanuq & Rahim. So beautiful!
This was beautiful. I really really enjoyed this story set in ice lands. Nanuq stole my heart with his sweetness n kindness. I loved strong and driven Rahim. Who fought so many people just to be able to save Nanuq and have his mate to himself. Lovely lovely lovely!!! 5 big stars
