Stepping Out

Rate this book
The second novel in the Johnson Road trilogy and Alex, Jasper and Sophie continue to navigate their newly cemented love, with eyes fixed firmly on the future and each other.
But are they strong enough to weather a sophisticated older lady threatening to turn Alex’s head, and will Jasper finally succumb to Alex’s persistent flirtatious overtures or will Alex push him a step too far? And how on earth do you drop the delicate matter of being part of a threesome into a conversation with one’s frosty, conservative parents?
Elsewhere, Hugo demonstrates his impressive hip action to Katy whilst simultaneously learning some shocking facts about Frederick of Prussia, Sophie enjoys the delights of a wintry Kinsale and Alex has a foo-foo related panic attack. Oh, and he finally learns how to turn on the washing machine.

I would have rated this four stars as it isn't really my sort of thing. It was a very enjoyable romp anyway. I elevated it to five stars because I think the covers of this one and the first one are amazing.

The threesome realise that being a threesome can be tricky, especially when parents are involved. The author handles the growing relationship between the two boys very delicately, I love Alex’s adoration of Jasper. Book three will no doubt Bring us to what I hope is a HEA

A slow burn, I’m in love with the boys - that Sophie is a very lucky girl. Waiting for book 3

The second book in the series made me doubt whether or not they are going to make it or not. Our favourite threesome meets challenges such as ultra-traditional parents, rivalry, self-doubt, awakening bisexuality, the hardship of falling in love in more than one person as well as low tolerance for gin!

Whereas the first book was very much about Sophie, this one is about Alex and how he grew to be the fullest version of himself - this utterly lovable billionaire who is proud of being deaf. Gosh how amazing he is. A true friend that everybody should have!
