A collection of poems from a daydreaming madman. Written in various back seats traveling across the US and in the houses of strangers turned acquaintances. A touring musician looking for comfort in the written word.
Poetry is all about baring one’s soul in possibly the most intimate of manners. From the first poem Sifting Through the Madness, I knew I was going to connect with You, Me, And The Moon. This is written by the lead singer of a band that one of my closest friends introduced to me to many years ago. We have made sure to check them out in concert every time they play locally to us, here in the U.K. After seeing Broadside live again a couple of weeks ago, and have been really enjoyed listening to their latest record Hotel Bleu (go check it out!), I saw that Oliver had put out a post that he had released some poetry collections.
The artists whose art that we consume and enjoy really do help to shape our lives. They have the power to help us through the darkness, whether through the written word or through song. Impressed with the raw emotion and honesty contained within these pages, 5 Stars.
This poetry was so bad that the necrophilia book I’ll be reading after will somehow be a palette cleanser. This is why celebrities shouldn’t write poetry.
