This box set contains the following three

'That Bear Ate My Pants!'

The incredible TRUE story of one man's struggle to survive in an Ecuadorian animal refuge.

There comes a time in every man’s life when he says to himself, "Holy crap! I’m about to be eaten by a bear!"

Tony James Slater went to Ecuador, determined to become a man.It never occurred to him that 'or die trying' might be an option...

The trouble with volunteering in a South American animal refuge is that everything wants a piece of you. And the trouble with being Tony, is that most of them got one.

Just how do you 'look after' something that’s trying it’s damnedest to kill you and eat you?

If only he’d had some relevant experience. Other than owning a pet rabbit when he was nine. And if only he’d bought some travel insurance...

'Don’t Need The Whole Dog!’

Watch out paradise! Trouble's coming…

Bitten by the sprit of adventure – amongst many other things – Tony set his sights on Thailand, vowing to start a new life in paradise.

To get there, he’ll try anything – from volunteering, to delivering yachts, to reality TV……and selling his body to medical science?!

One thing’s for sure – when a man like this goes in search of adventure, it's bound to end in tears.

So batten down the hatches! Lock up your power tools! And for gawd's sake turn the electricity off.Because that crazy Englishman is back. And this time, he's brought the whole family…

‘Kamikaze Kangaroos!’

Tony James Slater knew nothing about Australia.Except for the fact that he’d just arrived there. The stage is set for an outrageous three people, one van, on an epic, 20,000 mile road trip around Australia. What could possibly go wrong?

Of course, the van – nicknamed ‘Rusty’ – is a crumbling wreck, held together by the world’s most garish paint job.

About the author

Tony James Slater

Tony James Slater is a very, very strange man. He believes himself to be indestructible, despite considerable evidence to the contrary. He sometimes makes strange faces whilst pretending to be attacked by inanimate objects. But perhaps his single biggest problem is this; he has a mouth so big he is in danger of swallowing his own head. As a result he often ends up far from mainstream civilization, tackling ridiculous challenges and subjecting himself to constant danger. He gets hurt quite a lot.

Very funny

I love travel memoirs. They give me ideas for vacations. If the stories in these books are real or not, ( I think they're probably real) they were very entertaining. Just when I thought that this book was lacking pictures, at the end of the book there is a link to see the pictures. It made the stories even better!

Very enjoyable book

I got to say this book was long, very long but I enjoyed it all the way. I don't know what to say about this 3 book series except it kept me enjoying it all the way through. From the beginning with all the wild animals and then into the next book it never got dull. I see he is writing another book and I don't know if it's out yet but I sure am going to look for it. Just a great book, must read.

A good book to read while convalescing. I initially thought Tony was an arrogant young tosser but either he grew on me or he grew up during the course of the three books. I am now quite fond of him and look forward to reading his next adventures! Amusing stories and self-deprecating humour mean that the books keep rollicking along without demanding a lot from the reader. It's not great literature but he's developed a fun writing style about his travels and the people he meets.

I liked this 3 book series and would recommend it. They are 3 long books and have taken me more time to read them normal. I will review all 3 at one time. They are about a young man who just can't see any real reason to hold a normal 8-5 job. He takes a number of low pay, temp jobs to earn money to continue to see the world. He is a volunteer along with his sister and soon to be girl friend. The books are so easy to read and you just keep turning pages.

Yesterday, I finished reading this series; an enjoyable read. The series kept me reading and laughing with some places I couldn't read as I had tears from laughing. Tony has a similar sense of humour as me so is it the two of us who are 'sick' or everyone? :-)
Looking forward to reading the sequence.

Hilarious

I laughed until I cried. Tony has a wicked sense of humor and does not mind laughing at himself with all his lovable faults.

Adventure

You will laugh. There is nothing in these books that make you laugh more than wondering how Tony will get out of the incident he got himself into now.
