Life and the results of bad decisions have thrown Ashahve Glasper a curve ball. She’s pregnant and doesn’t know which man has fathered the baby. There’s Dr. Elijah Coleman, her professor with whom she’s had an on again off again affair with and Omari Watson, the love of her life, but also the one who hurt her the most. Depression is threatening to take her down, because it seems she’s in this thing alone until God shines a little light on her. While having company through the process makes it easier to deal with, the fact still remains that she doesn’t know which man is the father of her child. While Omari is the man she wants to be the father, she also knows that Elijah would be a good father. The paternity results will reveal who the father is, but will Ashahve be able to handle the results?
Finally in a good place in life, Omari Watson knows what he wants… what he needs. Ashahve Glasper is at the top of that list. While they had an extremely difficult breakup, he accepts responsibility for it and wants to make amends. He feels that he can now be the man she needs now that he’s gotten his anger issues in check. Therapy has also taught him how to emotionally express himself as well. He knows he can be a great man to her, but will she give him a second chance?
Elijah Coleman just wants to know when life will treat him like his is worth living. From one issue to the next, he struggles to get past them. However, his tenacity won’t allow him to give up and wallow in regret. With his career and reputation on the line, Elijah does his best to get through the ordeal. While all of these problems stem from his involvement with his student, Ashahve Glasper, he still wants to be in her life, especially since he knows she could possibly be having his baby.
These three lives once again intertwine. A pregnancy could connect two of them forever, but which two? Ashahve is a nervous wreck, begging God to let one of them in particular be the father. They all know of the possibilities and they are prepared to deal with the outcomes, but can they hold it together until those results are bestowed upon them? Will the results be favorable for all parties involved?
Starting with poetry, writing has always been a constant in Monica's life. The interest began in her teenage years, being in love for the first time. Her love for writing has only progressed. Song lyrics and poetry led to short stories, then one day in her down time, a short story became a 56k word novel. It has been non-stop since then. Being a wife and mother, has only added to the joys of Monica's life. Attaining a BS in Sociology, helping her better understand people and their behaviors, has only helped her become a better writer, understanding characters and their complex personalities. Romance of all types has been her passion, and she plans to continue honing her skills in that genre.
Very happy with the way this series ended! I definitely wanted to knock some sense into Shavi at times but everyone had some growing to do and I loved the evolution.
Elijah finally evolved and realized that Ashahve was an unhealthy trigger for him. He needed to take himself out of the equation to move on. Omari stayed resolute in his belief that the baby was his because of his and Shavi's love/soul connection and he was right g by. The level of love, protection and provision that he exhibited was a testament to that and how a man cares for his family. Ashahve...I really hope she stores this as a life lesson in her mental file cabinet because even though Tia was a trifling heifer, that was some karma to Ashahve for vacillating with the emotions and time of two men who loved her. Great read Monica!
Hate to see them go. Omari was so patient with Shavi. He really shocked me, that’s why he’s bae. Not saying he didn’t want to Spaz, but therapy did him well. He took care of shavi emotionally and physically. Elijah I’m glad things worked out for him. I was surprised at his reaction but goes to show their bond was nothing but physical. I want an update now that shavi had the baby so she can handle Tia and Mali 😡. You can just eat jordynn up. Poor Omari disciplines her, but softens right up, lol, like he said they made him soft. Good ending!!! So just curious, did we coerce the ending or is this what you had in mind 🤔...you did good!!!
Out of everyone Tia surprised me the most but I knew something was up considering she was basically ghosting Shavi in book 2 with little to no explanation. They always say keep your friends close but your enemies closer. I was the happiest for Elijah, once he got the help he needed his life improved in every way and now he might even have found a love perfect for him. I wanted to do a praise dance when I saw that Shavi and Omari were going to get their happily ever after 😩❤️ That was an outcome I had my fingers crossed for! Definitely surprised the hell out of me to find out Pipers dirty little secrets! Definitely a good plot twist.
This series was certainly a roller coaster ride! Engaging from the very start from the moment Shavi flirted with Elijah and he reciprocated there were many unexpected twists and turns. When Omari showed up he changed her path. All of the characters were flawed and complicated but that’s what made them real. In part 3 of this dope series enemies are revealed severing some bonds while others are strengthened.
You know a story is taking you there when you hoping and praying for the characters to receive a blessing is something epic. This series has had me reading every chance I get for three days straight and I wouldn’t have had it any other way. Omari and Sahvi are couple goals. The series shows that we never know someone’s truth until they reveal their truth. I enjoyed the journey these two had and a follow up wedding novella would be nice. Hint hint 🤷🏽♀️
I'm so glad that Ashahve got everything her heart desired. Her own little family and looks like Elijah made the right move with applying for other jobs before the school placed him on leave for two weeks. Those sessions that Omari went to helped him be a better person for his family.
This was really a great series. I liked how Shavi, Omari and Elijah grew and moved on from their issues. Lesson learned for Shavi after the pregnancy reveal and Omari being the father. I knew Tia was up to no good and Mia fell right into the trap. Overall, I was happy with the way things turned out for these characters.
The author had readers so emotionally invested in the characters lives it was nerve wrecking. Tia caused problems because of her jealousy , Mali because of thirst,& Elijah because of his obsession. It was definitely an emotional journey. But Omari & Shavi ‘s love developed and grew. Both showed they really wanted it together.
The finale was everythingggg! Shavi got back in my good graces lol and I just fell deeper for Omari! Jordynn was the cutest little thing ever. I could just love on her. I'm glad things worked out for Elijah because he deserved happiness too. I couldn't have asked for a better ending to a phenomenal series! Great read Monica!!
Well worth the wait amazing I loved it I really loved the way Omari loved Shavi that’s that good hood love and I’m really happy that the baby was his and not Dr Coleman I’m glad he found someone of his on congratulations on a job well done 🥰🥰
Omari did not come to play. He wanted Ashave and he was so patient with her. It was good to see Elijah have a chance at finding true happiness. It's sad to see them go but everything turned out perfect.
Ashahve and Omari finally got their messes in order. Thank goodness because they both worked my nerves lol. Glad Elijah finally got his head and life on the right track too. A great ending to a great series.
I loveeee the series it had a great amount of shock factor, love, intensity, and was able to touch on many mentally, physical, and emotional battles that occur within many people ❣️ I was hooked from beginning to end
Monica, my lord this series had my emotions all over the place. I was so glad you touched on mental health issues in our men, how you also had counseling situations available. I also loved how you showed a young black man take care of his business no matter what. Thank you for Ashahve growth, throughout this read her heart never meant anything bad. She just made some decisions that could have cost her more than she knew. But this read was a great lesson to learn, how to pay close attention to everyone that says they love you. Jealousy is such a deadly thing to carry. I'm so glad Elijah will be able to have a full life and have peace with it. Great 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
I am a huge fan of Monica’s writing and this book, well the entire series was flat out amazing. From book one, page one this series had my full attention. I can’t lie in book two I got so pissed at Shavi I almost walked away, yet I’m glad I completed the entire 3 book series because it was so worth.
I enjoyed the coverage of mental illness and even more so the journey of healing. I also enjoyed watching each character grow and become a better version of themselves.
I finished this series feeling satisfied which is always my objective with a series to end the story at completion and that is exactly where I am with this one.
Drama filled. This trilogy was too good. Lust, love, friendships, family, and faux friendship all showed up in this last book in this series. Prioritizing what was important, relationships among loved ones, preparing for the future by finishing school and providing a family environment for their babies in spite of all of the extra and unexpected happenings in their lives provided quite the storyline. No spoilers here, just a grateful reader happy to not have started reading until the trilogy was completed.
Misery definitely loves company and I’m so glad that neither Omari or Ashahve gave it to Tia because she needed none with all her behind the scene behavior!!!… My heart broke with what happened to Piper and then for her mother to come bearing the news she ad was disgusting!!!… I was also happy that Elijah found someone that he had no fears of rejection with for being transparent!!!… I loved everything about this series and the ending was the icing on the cake!!!…
Omari and Ashahve showed that they could overcome anything thrown at them and still be in love. She was always his calm when he was ready to explode. Tia was trifling and I wish Shavi wasn't pregnant so she could have dealt with her. I'm glad Elijah moved on with his life and let Shavi have peace without Omari hurting him. This was an amazing series and a job well done!
Overall this was a great series. It had enough twist and turns to be a ride at Carowinds. However, Shavi made me want to come through the pages and choke her! I could not believe she kept playing with those men's emotions. I just knew she was gonna come up missing because Elijah got to a point where he was a bit too unpredictable. In the end everyone got what they needed and some even got what they deserved.
I enjoyed reading each book in this series! Ashahve's story was very interesting and relatable. I loved reading about Omari and Ashahve's relationship. I'm glad that they had a happy ending. I'm also glad that Elijah had a happy ending. I'm happy with the overall ending of the series. I'd definitely recommend this book to anyone who likes a good romance story. It was everything.
I'm so glad to see things to do well for all characters. Reading this series made me feel a little close to Shavi as my younger days just not so naive as she was. I feel every young woman should of course date around while you're young, but be responsible sleepy with others. You just never know who you may come across that will go psycho over the snatch lol.
Once again this wonderful writer had me sitting on my butt until I finished this read. It contained all the elements of a good novel of this particular genre. Romance for you ladies, drama, excitement, and hot sex. Did I mention hot sex? I even picked up a few tips myself. Anyway my only caveat is that I wanted to see what happened with Dr.Coleman’s budding relationship. Maybe there’s a new book. Hint, hint.
Some of the things that happened to the characters was somewhat predictable, but overall this was a great book! The entire series was awesome and took us on a wild ride. I wanted Shavi to be smarter with her personal life choices, but if she wasn't we wouldn't have this great book series. Another good one, you don't wanna miss it!
That's the end of this journey and I'd say all worked out for the best! Some relationships ended and new ones began. Each character had their own path and even though those paths crossed frequently, growth was seen on all parts and more rounded. Kudos Ms Walters. Fan for life!
