I really liked this book, although, in my opinion, it wasn't my favorite one of hers. The poems were a lot shorter, and I thought they were a bit vague and void of emotion. Still considering those, I did enjoy the book. I also liked the cause it was written for since it was to raise money for the environment and animals.
The theme was about self worth, but I found that many of the poems were about codependency and yearning to lose yourself in another person. Completely contradictory.
I enjoyed this book, but the poems were lacking an emotional touch. It’s worth the read, as there are beautiful poems hidden through out, however the majority sit at surface level.
Just like always, Courtney Peppernell's work amazes me. I love her for who she is, an Australian LGBTQ woman and the fact she put this out to help raise funds for wildfire relief effort is awesome. Definitely worth going on Amazon and getting for the $7.
Such a beautiful collection. Courtney has such a way with words Its like she knows what your going through. It proves that no matter what we think we arnt alone. Much better than Pillow thoughts 2. Thats a bit depressing. And put together for such a great cause.
“All the things you feel, take time. They take empathy and compassion and understanding. This year, try to give yourself a little more of each, even on the days you are falling apart.”
This book has served as such a peaceful and graceful reminder to me that no matter what i go through, what i am feeling, and all there is to face, I am not alone. Through the subtle poems I am reminded that I am loved and worthy. I loved reading this book because there was a poem for every situation i was experiencing or feeling I felt, it made me feel less alone. I have faced so many trials and tests of my faith and strength, and who I am as a person and this book has been there to remind me of who I really am! All the love to the Author!🤗
Did not finish ~39 pages in. This book didn’t feel like it had any emotion or substance to me, I’m sorry to say. It felt like a collection of repetitive and consumable quotes on positivity with some poetry scattered throughout. This could provide hope for others, and that’s great (each to their own!) but it just doesn’t do it for me. :\
However, I commend Peppernell for the generous charity efforts made with the sale of this book and am happy to support 🤍
I really liked this, mainly because I read this at the right time. I am going to some stressful relationship things and this book reminded me to push forward and always be kind, no matter what I'm going through. It touched me.
Plus as a perk some of the proceeds went to helping with thre 2019/2020 Australia wildfires.
Courtney is on my list of top ten poets. I have multiple other books from her and she is a really good writer. With that being said, this title was also a little less than I expected, but was still enjoyable. I’d say like a 7/10 for content and enjoyability. The pictures are a nice touch. There’s some good exploration of self healing and self worth.
Self motivation and a great collection. Especially if you’re not ready to dive deep into her pillow thoughts series. Proceeds are being sent to help her home country in the wild fire efforts. Love it!
4.5 stars. A thoughtful little book of poems. I always love Courtney's poetry, especially the Pillow Thoughts series. Also love that a portion of profits for this book went to assist in relief efforts for the Australian bushfires.
I loved this book and all of its kind words and self-worth motivation. I love that she is donating a percentage of the book sales to Australia during all of the bush fires. 🙏🏽
I really enjoyed this book that was gifted to me from kindred spirit Sister 🙂🙂🙂 I could relate to some of the things written and it really is “HOPE” in scheme of things 🌻🌻🌻
I'm a huge fan of Courtney Peppernell's poetry (especially the Pillow Thoughts collection) and although I enjoyed this, I didn't enjoy it as much as her other work.
I found that it was very short and the vibe very Pinterest/Tumblr quote-like, which then I found I couldn't resonate with. However, it was enjoyable and there were some pieces from here that I really could relate to.
She is definitely an author that I feel that her poetry speaks close to home with me, and has helped me go through some difficult times. Therefore despite being slightly disappointed in this book, I am still a fan of her poetry.
If you don’t already know her, Courtney Peppernell is a best-selling Australian author. She wrote a collection of poems with the intent to raise money for the injured wildlife affected by the Australian bushfires in 2019/2020.
Hope in the Morning is broken down into 5 categories: listening within, you are enough, run wild earth child, be kind, it’s only forever. Pick and choose where you want to start! A great read.
