Ever since hard-drinking, local Woodhaven police officer Lou Garou had a late-night bender and stumbled onto dark magic, his life has been turned upside-down. Now he moonlights as WolfCop, a rage-fueled, bourbon-swilling, magnum-toting, rabid warrior for justice! Everyone's favorite lycanthropic lawman tears out of the big screen and into this comic to fight bigger, badder and meaner monsters! WolfCop gets caught up in a bit of small-town hospitality when a bordello with dark secrets traps him with his two favorite vices - women and booze. Then when black magic leaves him alone and wolfed-out full time, WolfCop must return home, only for unfamiliar faces to have a surprise party planned for him. Not the fun kind either!
The third issue was a little confusing. One guy died. Now he’s back. Some references to backstory that wasn’t in this collection. I didn’t know what was going on in that last issue.
First two were just fun supernatural tales peppered with gore.
Not much of a story here, just a series of well-rendered battles where WolfCop and his mates take on some disturbing creatures in order to save the world. At least that's what I think was going on!
I'm glad it doesn't take itself too seriously though, as this is a problem most of the comics I've read have seemed to suffer from. It was quite refreshing to have some humour and a silly plot that wasn't trying to be anything more
Love these movies, so was thrilled to learn about these comics. They are a mess.
Not that the movies are intricate and sophisticated, but these stories were obviously written in-between the movies, so are almost completely contradicted by the movie continuity. A fun read, but don't overthink it.
Fun, violent, goofy and really trying to capture the "redneck Hellboy" vibe and visuals of the films.
