Previously on "The Kingston Chronicals:
The continuation starts not long after the events of the first book. The situation is tense, the threat is still in the air and both families of witches have to come to terms with the consequences of the events.
The large cast of characters is both the book's strength and weakness. While we mainly follow Anastasia, you always get insights into the stories of the other characters. With the addition of a few new characters, it's fair to say that not every character gets the same amount of attention. This is only natural in this constellation, but it was a shame in my case, as it meant that characters that I liked very much in the first part did not have much character development here.
The concept of a soap opera as a book is much more sustainable because the author laid a solid foundation in the first book and was now able to concentrate fully on the narration of the story and the characters. There are some surprises and at the end I was a little shock at times.
Critically, I can add that I sometimes had the impression that the characters acted a bit 'stupidly' so that the plot could happen as it was planned. In some situations, with a little thought, I was able to explain why the characters acted differently, but it tore me out of the story.
Those who liked "The Kingston Chronicals" can't go wrong with this book. I can only recommend this series to anyone who wants to read into an interesting mix of magic and soap opera. Despite my criticisms, I had fun with the book and the author has a pleasant writing style to read. The magic elements were explained in an exciting way and the world expanded a little more. The story was brought to a satisfying solution, but a few loose threads are a good indication that the story isn't quite finished yet.

Book 2 of the Kingston Chronicles kept me on the edge of my seat, and I couldn't put it down. Love the elements of Greek Mythology entwined into the story.
