Witches of the Big Easy #5

Consorting With The Enemy

Rate this book
Ariel is a high-ranking, powerful, and sexy as sin Demon in the Underworld who has been trying for centuries to corrupt an angel.

Ariel’s history with the beautiful Azazel was filled with hidden desire and unbridled passion, and the Demon just could never find the strength to put much effort into trying to obey the Dark Lord’s demands that he capture Azazel’s nephew, Marchand, and bring him to the Underworld to serve as his pet. He was much more interested in teasing and toying with the Fallen Angel rather than going to war with him. But when he can no longer trick the Dark Lord into believing he’s truly trying to capture Marchand, decisions have to be made, and his actions would not only ignite a war, but send shock waves throughout the entire Underworld.

If Azazel hadn’t been so blinded by his desire to keep his nephew safe, he would have questioned why the powerful Demon kept making one mistake after another when he came after Marchand. By the time he realizes his mistake, it might be too late to protect the ones he loves. A war has come to the earthly realm, and the stakes are high. When consorting with the enemy, can there ever be a happy ending?

Well again Amazon has failed me and I have ended up reading book 5 in the series because it was not marked as a series...

To be fair... the name “Witches of the Big Easy” did sound familiar to me and if I had looked it up I would have seen that I DNFd the prequel to the series, and might have chosen to skip this book, which would have been a shame.

Anyways... I realized the issue pretty early on in the story, there were just too many side character names to keep up with and I was easily confused. I still decided to continue with the story because... well I love a good angel and demon romance, and considering I DNFd the prequel I didn’t know if I would make it through the first 4 books before getting to this one. Again I am glad I stuck with it... I absolutely loved Ariel (whom by the way was portrayed nothing like the cover art), in my mind he was a devilish little twink that had a heart of gold.

I loved the plot of being enemy’s and lovers to just enemy’s and back to lovers. I also loved that Azazel realized that he was a prick even though the plot didn’t really portray him as a prick, I just wish there has been more groveling. Always more grovel.

In the end I might just pick up book one and see if can make sense of the beginning of this tale.

Mind blown!!

Ari and Az's story was fun a beautifully done. It also answered alot of questions burning in my mind since the subway incident from a previous book. If you haven't read the series I suggest you start at the beginning and discover this wonderful cast of supernatural beings. Each book in the Witches of the Big Easy has been wonderful and I would highly recommend it if you are looking for a new series to love!! Ghhh I'm going to have a book hangover now!!

Forever home

Oh happy happy day, it’s...wait for it...Azazel’s story, and what a story it is! I am such a fan of angels and demons and Ariel and Azazel are exceptional ones. I adore both their cocky, clever attitudes. Sometimes I forget how old these characters really are. It’s fascinating learning about their histories. I love, love, love when two strong personalities get together. It always makes for explosive tension and these two have that and amazing chemistry, connection and banter.

I think my favorite part of this books has to be the wings. Those innuendos were so funny and sexy. I thought Ari’s bed and his scents were fitting. Marchand and his capacity for love and kindness overwhelm me. Also, his nickname for Ari tickles me. Oh, Nic, you’re so stubborn, but it’s also what makes you so lovable and fierce. I so didn’t see the plot twists and bombshells. Wow that sure puts a different spin on everything and yet it explains so much. I adore this family and world. I never want to leave once I visit. Squee, Az and Ari, oh these two have stolen my heart. There’s not a more perfect couple than them.

the forbidden love story that's been teased since book 2. Azazel, is bossy top alpha who has been denying his love but not lust for the demon who keeps coming around his nephew. Ariel, loves and lust the angel who makes him be submissive and enjoy it. When these are thrown together, they now must battle the demon army. Ariel also has a secret power and past that slowly becomes revealed when he needs to use this power to protect his love. Ariel is connected to a powerful, alpha siblings of witches. I love the ending of how Azazel and his nephew claim their mates for all of eternity. I liked that they got spoils in the end of the war like an archangel blade and a powerful ring that I hope appear in a future book.

AMAZING! Another great add to the series. Ariel and Azazel are consuming and fantastic. Danger, opposing sides coming together and sexy. I was instantly grabbed with the lore and these Demon/Angel characters that have been around forever and I want to know everything. History for both Ariel and Az was great and I liked that they were so different. Loved the Marchand and Dark Lord parts too which really brought the story together. So much to discover with this series and I hope there is more to come. I voluntarily reviewed an 'Advance Author’s Copy' of this book.

The Editor Should Be Shot

The four stars is for the story. Great story- just enough action and emotion and heat. (Okay, to be honest I could have used a little more steam). But very engaging entertaining. However, the errors! Repeated words and phrases; wrong words, ugh. There's a whole section where the perspective of the person talking switches! How do you not catch that??? Did the editor even read the drafts? It gets in the way of the flow, causes confusion and keeps a good read from being a great read.

When you have fallen angels, witches, demons, vampires and other supernaturals you can expect the hottest and greatest books you have ever read. Ariel and Azarel are the hottest odd couple I've ever read. Once I started reading this book I couldn't put it down. There's romance, action, humor, and no angst. The book has a great flow to and all the characters are likable and hot.

Book 6 in the Witches of the Big Easy series brings us Azazel and Ariel. The angels are falling for each other – one good and one fallen – or so it might appear. As the angels join forces and find their way back to each other, will they be able to make the ultimate sacrifice? Another great set of characters and worldbuilding to die for. If you like to root for the fallen angel to redeem himself, this is the story for you. This story has it all, from sexy times to the possible ultimate sacrifice for love. I can’t wait for the rest of the books in this series. A wonderful 5 star read for T.S. McKinney

So we now we get Azazel and Ariel's story and boy....fanning myself...is it hot. But not only is it sexy hot, it's full of twists, action and humor. You get a little of everything. Angel v Demon, love v hate, attraction for your enemy...and so much more that keeps you glued to the book and loving every moment. I'm seriously so hooked on this series. Every book is so good!

These two are so wonderful to read about. Ariel is a demon but there is something about him that makes Azazel unable to forget about him. As they join forces, the emotions and feelings that have been pushed aside and buried comes roaring to the surface. As they battle for each other, will secrets come to the surface? Will their love survive the battles? Read and find out :)

It was ok

I should have read the series from the beginning first but I didn't know it was part of a series till I was already reading it. I had no idea of what anyone looked like or their characters. Ariel was the only one that really appealed to me. He was childish, playful, funny and selfless especially for a demon. It was a pretty simple story format.

3.5 stars--because there were a lot of grammatical errors and confusing parts where the point-of-view randomly switches to the other person and back again as well as bits where a person is the one whose point-of-view is in focus but is referred to in the third person in certain sentences.

Question, how is it that Ariel has the same mother as the Gaudet brothers when he's literally thousands of years older than them ?
