I have been waiting for this story since I read One Night. Nicolette and Henry were the secondary characters in that story but I could feel the tension building.

Nicolette has demons that's she hides from everyone that cares about her. She makes plans with her best friend, Liza, and then no shows. Then her dad sets her up with this guy, Jackson. She brings Liza with her and Jackson brings his cousin Henry. The only thing is that Nicolette and Henry are instantly attracted to each other and Liza and Jackson apparently know each other because there is major tension there.

Henry is a an alcoholic that knows he has a problem but alcohol seems to be the only thing that makes everything else in his life manageable. Until Nicolette. She is the first person that makes him want to really try to be a better person.

There only question is that can these two have a relationship worth holding onto with Nicolette's secrets and Henry's struggles?

The first part of the book was slow and I struggled to stay vested in it. Once everything started to pick up I was hooked. The author made it easy to sympathize with each character for separate reasons.

I do suggest reading One Night before reading this because a lot of the situations between both stories are happening at the same time and it will help understand what's going on with Liza and Jackson.

This is the first time reading anything from this author, and I really enjoyed this book. This is the story of Henry, and Nicolette. They meet on a blind date, and have an immediate connection, but both have a lot of damage in their pasts, can they make it work, or will the doubts, be too much. This was an emotional read, it was well written, and the characters kept me reading, and rooting for them until the end.

This is the first book I have read of Victoria’s and it won’t be my last. The instant connection between these two was sizzling off the page but what had me was how similar they were in every way, the good and the bad. Both broken souls one bearing his truths and doing anything to make her happy made me love Henry even more. But when truths are revealed doubts occur and the love they both feel for each other is broken. I honestly sat there screaming at my phone for Henry ever doubting her when Nicolette never doubted him and always fought for him. I loved how my opinion changed about Henry’s mother, how she acted like a mother and spoke up for him. The ending had me smiling and wanting more. I was lucky enough to receive this as an arc and I highly recommend it. If your looking for an instant connection between two people that are so broken that they need each other to breath and heal this is the book for you.

Oh wow One chance was just WOW my emotions were all over the place and the plot just drew me in from start to finish . This would be the first book that I've read of the series I wish that I would have read them in order though because they may have been some minor spoilers . My heart really went out for the characters they have been through so much If two people were meant to be it would be those two they healed one another and I can't wait to read more by the author in the future .

This is the 3rd in this series and the first time I have read any of this authors work. Nicolette and Henry’s story is an emotional roller coaster journey as these to are heal each other from past demons. I recommend for all. I will certainly be looking out for this authors’ work in the future.

DNF’d — Read the first 6 chapters and couldn’t continue. I tried to find something redeeming about the main character but couldn’t. Despised her personality and how awful she was to the people around her.
