This is a great book for children around the age of 5 to 8, would be my best guess. It explains how bees collect pollen and nectar. Plus how hard it is in the city for them to do their job. And it gives great information on how to help them. Please consider this children's book for your children or grandchildren and help them to help save the bees.
Some people will undoubtedly object to the very blunt message that is conveyed in this book. Stahl, however, does a good job at showcasing what can be done to help bees. It is great that she showed an urban setting and what city kids can do as opposed to just keeping it focused on the non-city areas.
This book is a fabulous way to educate children on bees and help them recognize how they are being affected in our populated environment. The book also teaches how we can help bees and provides educational pictures. There is also a craft at the end of the book. Highly recommend. ♡♡♡♡
I really loved a lot of things about this book! First of all it’s beautifully illustrated! In addition, I love the multi-ethnicity of the characters. I also liked that an important message was presented through the story in a very educational and fun way. This story teaches children that even if they live in a building, they could still create small gardens to help the environment :-). We could all take small steps to make a big impact!
Loved this book. Perfect for young children to learn about the place of bees in our world, in a fun format. Wonderful illustrations by the author as well. A must have for a child's library.
This sweet informational book was formatted in a call and response/ question answer format. There are two main characters who are both talking about bees. One character asks questions about what bees do, what pollen is, etc. It then goes into the point of view of the bees and they are telling about themselves and how they survive. This was very clearly shown through the illustrations as you can clearly see when it goes from the perspective of the children to the perspective of the bees- which I personally thought was a nice touch and easy to follow for children. I give this book a 5/5 on my scale. It was a very informational and captivating story about what bees do, how we can help them, and had wonderful illustrations that helped guide the story.
Part of the “Save the Earth” series I picked up. My students and I have begun learning about eco systems, conservation and human impact on the planet... so this of course was a natural fit. Bees are such an important part of the ecosystem and they need our love. This book is wonderfully illustrated and clearly shows how pollination works and how bees interact with our world. A very relatable storyline shows how just a few kids living in the city can help the bees 🐝 Also featuring great activities and crafts, this book is a wonderful choice.
This is a charming picture book for elementary school children. The illustrations are vibrant and charming. Two young friends come across a bee named Clover who explains the process of pollination and the life of bees. When the children learn that bees need some help, they decide to build a resting place for bees and plant some flowers to provide more nectar.
It is a good choice for a read aloud or classroom discussion about the importance of bees in our environment. There is an interactive page and a bonus audible book available.
Informative and good ideas to help the environment
Cho and Mateo meet Clover, a bee, who is gathering nectar from flowers to take back to his hive. Cho and Mateo learn about bees, how they make honey and come up with an innovative idea to help bees.
Neat illustrations and good story for kids to teach them about the environment.
Saving the bees is so critical to everyone's survival and this story is an adorably informative way to teach your children about our bee friends! I highly recommend it for every child's library.
Learn about bees and how important they are for it world. Ms. Stahl gives instructions on how to save the bees by making a bee garden. And fun search games inside the book. Let's all buy a book and help save the bees.
The grandkids liked the story, especially when the bee landed on the kid’s nose. They also liked the pretty flowers and bee. I liked that it was educational as well.
The author has done a good job teaching children about pollination. No distinction of types of bees are made but I’m guessing she’s referring to a native bee rather than a honey bee.
So many kids have bad ideas with bees. This book helps teach you the importance of bees on earth and simple ways to help keep them around. I also learned some cool facts about bees. I highly recommend to read for kids in elementary school.
