Bridges Brothers #2

Broken Bridges

Rate this book
Mason Bridges was certain about what he wanted from life, about the man he wanted to be. Running the family’s construction business was the center of it all. Until he comes across an intriguing woman who challenges him at every turn and causes him to rethink his outlook on life. Ari’s more than just complicated, though.

Ari Mendez has a painful past and a volatile present. She’s flying by the seat of her pants when she meets focused and responsible Mason. Her chaotic life puts her plans for the future in a holding pattern but the one thing she’s certain about is that Mason is everything she never knew she wanted.

Mason will have to leave the confines of his carefully structured life in order to show Ari he’s the man for her. But their differences and Ari’s ties to her ex threaten their chance to be together.

***

Bridges Brothers series follows four brothers as they attempt to navigate life and love after a tragic family loss. Each book can be read as a standalone but is more enjoyable read in order.

yeah ehhhhhh

I know she wasn't 17 but the fact that in the beginning she still said that she was attractive when he thought she was 17 is weird.

I'm loving the Bridges brothers! Mason is just as hot as Logan! Mason was all business until he met Ari. Ari was running from her past with nothing in her future. When Mason meets Ari, he immediately wants to help her, but she is not used to trusting anyone, so is very hesitant to tell him too much about herself. As they grow closer, Mason realizes he likes having Ari in his life, but Ari is still unsure of where her life is going. Do these two opposites have a future together, or will their differences separate them?

If I really enjoyed the first book of the series, I loved this one. I didn’t get more than a glimpse at the Bridges family, because, unlike Logan, Mason has a life of his own right at the beginning, but it was a pleasure to see them again, those colorful characters and the dynamics between them.

Each situation–all of them natural and realistic, and written beautifully–furthers the story and Ari and Mason’s relationship. There was only one big coincidence, but even that wasn’t totally impossible and is explained in a plausible way. It was another “moment in life” that I was happy to witness. I felt like I was part of the family.

Everything that could have been cringy–the Latina stereotype, the age gap, the domestic violence–is explained and treated with respect and objectivity, by addressing them and giving the characters the possibility to make their own choices. And sometimes their own mistakes. But not one character is beyond redeemable–well, almost.

Multiple hints are given about what will happen to the family in the near future, so I can’t wait to read the next book of the series!

Quickie

- Series: Bridges brothers #2 (but can be read as a standalone)
- Hashtags: #opposites attract #age gap #multicultural relationship #forced cohabitation #artist #businessman
- Triggers: mention of domestic abuse and drug use
- Main couple: Ariana Mendez & Mason Bridges
- Hotness: 3/5
- Romance: 4/5
- + no matter the upbringing, the age, love is love
- – feisty Latina may be stereotypical (but Ari is also creative and emotional, so she’s more than a stereotype)

Broken Bridges (The Bridges Brothers Book 2) by Lia Fairchild. The Bridges family has weaseled its way into my heart! I love them! They are all so strong, dedicated to each other, and loving. Mason is the oldest brother and somewhat removed from the daily Bridges life as he is running the company business. He seems distance and uncaring until you get to know him. And then you see just how amazing he is. Ari is a force to be reckoned with despite her past, she is a great character and perfect match for Mason. I thought this book was well written and full of drama, charismatic characters, great family situations and bonding opportunities, and thankfully a much deserved HEA. This is the second book in the series of four Bridges Brothers and Broken Bridges is just as good as the first story was. I couldn’t put my kindle down. I feel like I am getting to know and love these people and they pull so many emotions out of me that I’m left in pieces at the end. Totally emotionally wiped out.

I love these boys, their Dad and Grandfather. They are such well-written characters that I couldn't help but fall in love with them. Mason is the focus in this story and probably the most closed-off of the brothers. He is the eldest and has taken on the role of protector/co-parent of his siblings. Such a good man with a kind heart. It’s instant love when he meets Ari; they may not recognise it, but I did.

Ari is a sassy, hot-blooded, talented lady who can sass anyone. She’s funny and full of bravado and I love her. In fact, I really love this family and can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

I enjoyed Mason’s story so much I think I liked it better than Logan’s from book 1. Maybe it’s because he’s older and more mature but the way he handled life was exactly what I needed. Let’s not forget that Ari just made everything in his life so much better. Even though they’re different, they’re also alike and they’re what they each needed. I couldn’t help but hate Megan just a little bit but the way Mason didn’t care and only wanted Ari made me love him even more. I can’t get enough of the Bridges and the extended family and can’t wait for the next one.

Mason is the oldest of four and after helping his family through tragedies, he is finally comfortable with his life. It is not exciting, but it is comfortable. Until he runs into Ari. Thinking that she is a runaway teen, old habits appear and all he wants to do is help her. Until he realizes that he cannot live without her.
Ari has had a troubled pass and actually a troubled present. When she realizes that her shelter is being threaten, she pretends to be a runaway teen. But after Mason takes her in, she realizes that she cannot keep lying to him because she is beginning to care for him.
This story is beautifully written by Lia Fairchild. We have laughter, joy, tears, and heartache. This is a wonderful family that you will fall in love with.

4.5 Stars!!
Broken Bridges by Lia Fairchild was such an great read. It literally had me at hello. I met Mason Bridges in his brother Logan's book, Building Bridges. He was the illusive uptight eldest brother of 4. His mystic definitely piqued my interest....

Broken Bridges is the epitome of a slow build up and opposites attract stroyline. It was perfectly paced with no insta-love!
It's about finding that special someone, who transforms you into the person you meant to be....
What would a straitlaced businessman and an artistic spitfire Latina have in common? Nothing and everything! Once each of their layers were peeled away, it was heat, passion and emotions. A meeting of two complimentary souls!
Mason and Ari's relationship was built on trust and mutual respect. They both brought out the best in each other. I loved how their relationship grew and transformed....
A friendship turned into a bond, which eventually morphed into an incredible love.

The story was primarily about Mason and Ari, but it also has glimpses of the whole Bridges clan. Seeing the bond between the brothers further solidify, warmed my heart! They are all wonderfully different yet equally special. I am looking forward to the next book in the series, Beautifully Broken. It is Justice's book. He's the second to youngest brother and this kid is a real charmer!

I must say that I liked this book better than the first one from the Bridges family, although Mollie is much more lovable than Ari. Mason is just the perfect guy. Protector, hard worker, organized, and not as arrogant or aloof as sometimes it may seem ... Ari grew on me after she seemed as just an immature compulsive liar. She is the broken one that the put together Mason doesnt try to mend, but only to protect. He loved her on first sight and all the instability and troubles that comes with her only makes him more passionate and caring. Ari shows her infatuation about him is deeper when she puts him first at her own pain cost. It´s great to watch both Mason and Ari bloom, grow mature and find their HEA. I didn´t want this book to end, so good it got to me!

Mason is first introduced to us in Building Bridges. He is the oldest of four brothers who have experienced so much loss. After the death of both his mom and stepmom he helps his dad out and takes over running the family business. In this second book of four we find Mason trying to do what best for the business while trying to figure out where he stands with Megan.
Mason and Logan go to look at some property they are going to be working on only to realize someone has been staying there. This is evident by the mural of a pregnant woman and the sleeping bag. Mason comes across Ari in the backyard but she takes off before he can find out more. He’s in for a surprise the next day when he goes back to the house because he feels this need to take care of this woman. She is not at all what he expected and is shocked when she says she is 17 and pregnant. He is even more shocked when she comes to the aid of Megan who is being attacked.
Mason can’t just leave this young woman so he takes her into his home only to find out after that she is actually 22 and not pregnant. She turns his life upside down in such a way that Mason isn’t sure what to do. He only knows that she is someone he wants to get to know and help out.

Mason thought he knew what he wanted out of life. Controlling his families business and achieving a level of distinction in the daily suits he wears. This facade slowly began to change who he was. He looked at his brother and wished he could have someone who completed him not someone he consistently competed with. A chance encounter changes everything and feeds his soul that had long been denied. Ari was a breath of fresh air and helped him break apart the bridges that tethered him to a life of monotony and boredom. Finding her was the perfect balance and reminded him life was meant to be enjoyed.

Five Golden Stars ...
by and1515

Oh wow another totally awesome book by Lia Fairchild this story absolutely deserves all five golden stars.
The reasons this book is just as good as Logan's if not better is life is complicated its messy and this is front an center in the Bridge family.
Rome wasn't built in a day and neither are relationships Ari and Mason have a lot of hit an miss between them but they slowly simply work.

Broken Bridges is the second book in the Bridges Brothers series and is a wonderful story of opposites attracted to each other.

Mason and Ari are wonderful characters but are as opposite from each other as any two people could be. Their road to romance is engaging and heartwarming, with a slow burn relationship from meeting to friends to a couple in love. There is drama, family, past issues, communication, and love.

I am looking forward to reading more books in this series.

The bridge brothers are a brilliant. This is the second book in the series, this is Masons story and it didn’t disappoint. Masons life was going well, he had a success business and a sort of girlfriend that was right for him at that moment. Ari crushes into his live and changes everything. This is a captivating story that will leave you unable to stop reading it. As with every good book, the characters are well developed, they are interesting and likeable. The storyline flows well, is witty, fun, emotional and has enough angst to keep you interested but not destroy you.

I loved Mason and Ari. Mason is the workaholic brother of the Bridges, he has his straight-laced ways and when Ari comes into the picture she turns his world upside down and brings him out of that shell. Ari thinks that Mason is dead set on fixing her when he isn't! I love their story and I can't wait for the next of the Bridges stories!

Perfect

This was a fantastic story. I loved Mason and Ari, such great characters and such explosive chemistry. I actually love the entire family. The are so fantastic. Ari had to overcome so many obstacles that it made you question whether it would break her or build her up. Sometimes i just wanted to wring both of their necks but they redeemed themselves. Definitely worth reading this story along with the entire series.

I already loved this family from Book 1 of this series, but I wasn't sure how this one would play out. Mason seemed so serious all the time in the first one, which he is, but there is so much more to him. The storyline was creative and unique, which is so refreshing! I wasn't sure if I would like Mason that much, but ended up loving him! I really liked the female MC as well, I liked her spunk. Can't wait for the next book in this series!

An intriguing and clever romantic tale. Two people who should not really be a match seem to be perfect for one another. Interesting characters, including the family members from the previous book. Thanks to Booksprout for providing a copy for my voluntary review.

Another great love story

Mason is just going through life and not knowing what the future will hold. Ari is impulsive and worrisome. What will happen when they meet and will Mason ever get the ending that he wants. I am in love with this series.

This is book 2 in the Bridges Brothers series and this book focuses the eldest of the four brothers Mason.

Mason is the eldest of the four brothers and he is the type of man who knows what he wants, and the type of man he shrives to be. He runs the family's construction business. In running the construction business this is Mason's life and the center of his world. Mason's world is soon changed when he meets a mysterious and intriguing woman who goes by the name of Ari Mendez.

Ari has suffered from a very painful past that has left her very volatile. As soon as Mason meets her and gets to know the mysterious Ari he is drawn to her like a moth to a flame and feels the need to protect her and look after her. But Ari has put up walls around herself due to her past and does not trust anyone or open up the only thing she knows is that she is drawn too Mason and wants him.

Ari and Mason will have many barriers to break down before they can think of a happily ever after with each other. Will Ari finally let Mason in or Mason think she isn't worth it and walk away from the one woman he wants to look after.

I am absolutely loving this series so far and I cannot wait to get started on book 3.

Broken Bridges is book two in the Bridges Brothers series by Lia Fairchild. I enjoyed the first book in this series. But this second book, I found a bit disturbing. Although it is well written, I didn’t feel comfortable with certain elements of the romantic relationship. Mason Bridges is the oldest sibling in the Bridges family and a businessman. At thirty-three, he manages a thriving construction company. Ari Mendez is a young homeless woman “squatting” in a building that Mason’s company is renovating. I found the attraction between the two characters to be unbelievable. I didn’t like the heroine. Ari is too young and immature. She is smart-mouthed, abrasive and not likable. The hero Mason comes across as a desperate “teenager” instead of the man that he should be at thirty-three. Overall, I just wasn’t sold on their “love” story. This book wasn't my cup of tea. I was given a copy of the book.

Beautifully written book! Absolutely Loved!

This is the 2nd book in the series and I fell completely in love, Ari is running from some things in life she finds herself face to face with Mason, who is in a Mind set of his own..... He likes to fix things and Ari is definitely a Broken soul who Doesnt need fixed just needs found. This book has some amazing scenes with some heartache and some sweet moments that makes me want Mason myself ❤ Lia is an amazing writer who I have just started to read and have fallen in Love with her books starting with the Bridges brothers I can not wait for the others!!!!

I’m really loving this series! This is Mason’s story and it is full of so many emotions. Mason has no time to be frivolous. Work, work and more work and no personal relationships.....that is his motto. That is until he meets Ari. Ari has been broken down and beaten by life. She trusts no one and needs no one’s help. Or does she? Can Mason open up to Ari and realize what their future could be? Can Ari let go of her hurts and see Mason for who he is? This is a story of letting go and trusting fate!! Loved it!!

Mason and Ari are so different. He is steady and somewhat out of the flow, work has taken him somewhat away from life and family. Ari is a bit of a hot mess and a squatter at one of the construction sites that the company is working on. She is his wake up call. He is a chance for her to get to steady. They don't fit right away, they are too different for a smooth coming together but what a good story about a pair that are each other's compliment.

Mason took over helping his family after the death of his step mother and aunt. Lately he feels something is missing & is unsure what, he doesn't see things with his girlfriend Megan as they should be.
Ari hasn't had things easy and is squatting in the house Masons construction company is working on.
I really enjoyed reading this book the Bridges men are such fantastic characters. The pull between Mason & Ari was lovely to read.
