Not Just for Authors

As someone who is a social media manager for local businesses and a freelance editor for authors, I was pleasantly surprised by this book. Despite its title, I think I could recommend it to either of my client bases. While the author does have some specifics that are just for authors, I found much of the book to be more general. The way he talks about using both Facebook pages and groups to help build your tribe and subsets of them (which he calls a “phalanx”) could be applied to just about any type of business or personal brand. I love that the book is specific on what you precisely need to do with your pages and groups as well as if or when you choose to consider Facebook advertising. I particularly thought that his section on what NOT to do on social media was well thought out. I highly recommend this book to fully leverage Facebook for yourself or your business.

I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.

If you are starting your writer's journey and about to publish your first book, you may well wonder what is next. What do you do now? Should you have a Facebook page? How do you promote your book, where and to whom?

Everything you need to know is in this little book. It has plenty of information, and dos and don'ts to get the your social networking up and running.

It is also a good read for established authors, as sometimes it is good to have a reminder of what you should be doing to grow. There is always something new to learn in this ever changing and evolving world.
