Despite all of his efforts, Alex cannot escape the grasp of the vampires. Their leader seems disinterested in Alex's quest, and far more interested in his body.
phffft. This is basically a sex scene between Alex and Absolon the vampire who is holding him prisoner and alternately threatening his life. This is book five (can you really call 8 pages a book?) in the series but we really don't know what is going on in Alex's trippy ricochet from one paranormal monster to another. What's it all about? I really don't care at this point, the tentacles drew me in (Alex and the Tentacle Monster) but this'll be it for me.
I didn't think I would like this, but I did. It was a short nice vampire smut story without then usual "bites are pleasant" crap and with a good mix of horror in it. The sex scene is well described, the reading is easy, it once again didn't take itself too seriously, like I said in a previous review of the series, the former straight guy takes to the whole gay sex thing like a duck to the water. It is a nice little porn version of Alice in Wonderland and I don't think the author tried to read anything deep. I nice short story for relaxing, that is all it is.
While the vampires save him from the werewolves, things aren't looking up for Alex. After the vampire feeds from him and takes him leaving him half dead, he leads Alex to what he says will be his death.
