A broken heart, a band of brothers, a secondhand store, and a contract to fulfill.
When Orlando became the sole guardian of his brothers, he didn’t expect it to be this hard. Nursing a broken heart, he’s forced to step up when his brother breaks the law and is escorted home by Stefan Phillips, a gorgeous man with a heart of gold and a secondhand store.
Cyan Tayse is the pen name of a multi-genre author based in New Zealand. After a lot of coaxing from friends, she decided to embark on a journey of discovery. Yes, that’s right, she embraced her desire to write things a little different to her usual, thus the Pocket Rocket and Brief Encounters novellas were born.
Cyan can often be found lurking on social media, and she loves to hear from fellow authors and readers.
When Orlando's parents died he gained and lost more than most. He now has his brothers to think of, which means his dreams of becoming an author are put on hold. His brothers also lost their parents and are struggling to find their way. When Gino, one of the brothers makes a bad descion, the family are given a new chance. Stefan is a kind guy. His life also hasn't been smooth sailing but there is a chance he can fix this broken family.
This is a short M/M romance with a little heartbreak and a sweet new love.
"...how do you go on when the world is so scary? When in a single moment, it can all disappear?"
Orlando is tasked with raising his two younger brothers after their parent's death, but in the wake of a devastating breakup, he's crawled into himself and can't seem to pull out of it. Until his brother, Gino makes a massive mistake and brings Stefan to his door. Stefan might just be the light at the end of the tunnel for Orlando.
I love these quick novellas from Tayse because they pack a whole lot of punch in a quick and easy read. I love that the two were on some shaky ground, but that the motives are what shined through. Stefan is a driving force of motivation for Orlando, and I think the two are going to be excellent for each other in the long run. Nicely done!
This novella had my heart clenching from moments into the story....grief, loss, love, responsibility, hope, bliss, all just hit me. Loved this quick, heart warming and highly emotional story - I wont lie, give me more Orlando and Stefan please.
Short, sweet and stuffed full of life’s loses, lessons and experiences. Cyan Tayse’s boys are just gorgeous and show us what unconditional love looks like, and how the offering up of a second chance can change the trajectory of a young man’s life and that of his family.
I adored this short and sweet story of Orlando and Stefan, and, my only regret is that I would’ve love to have seen more of them. What I can say, is that their story fits perfectly into a lunch break, or any short space of time that you want to be squeezing some reading into! Very well worth the time and money. 4 Stars.
