Memory loss is the worst plague that could have affected Badalah, and magically induced one means a grave danger.
The Vizier is coming closer to the palace, avoiding the public to see him yet stalking the princess whose magic has defeated him eighteen years ago. Gaia, in the meantime, is trying to solve the mystery about her birth, her magic, and find a solution how to ease the problems of her kingdom. With her parents split apart, her love forgetting her and being turned into slave, and citizens of Badalah being at the edge of riot, Gaia's task is a huge challenge.
The story is intricate and complex despite concentrating on a single plot line and having only a few characters in the spotlight. Gaia, Genie, Freya, and Jamal are great characters, and their trouble is sometimes truly heartbreaking; even more emotional is the situation around Sultana Jawahir and Aladdin. I am very much enjoying this retelling and am rooting for Gaia to embrace the challenges, her magic, and show them who's the best.
