Born in Leeds, I lived a very normal life until I got bored one day and decided to travel the world. Since then I've worked on a Banana Plantation, cleaned ACDC's dressing room and been a professional clown.
I climbed to the bottom of the Grand Canyon and the top of Kilimanjaro. Nowadays you'll find me being a climbing frame for my two young children, working in a school, and renovating my home.

The second installment of the story starts right where the first one left off. Halia works her last shift at the boardinghouse and moves out. She manages to get a job delivering the post, but discovers that she will have to learn to ride a bicycle if she wants to get her rounds done. She moves into a spare room at Lorenzo's and discovers that he knows about her secret visits to Acacia. She is still sure that there is something going on with Doris looking so much like the missing queen, but what? While trying to save a young boy from being arrested she uses her voice to distract everyone while she helps him get away from Victor and his partner. This will come back to haunt her later. She will also be surprised by her best friend's choice of a partner.

There is a big singing competition that Halia is determined to win as it will allow her access to the palace and the king. She hopes to use this to find out what is going on in the kingdom. Bad things have been happening ever since the queen disappeared. Madame's two daughters have entered the contest to get access to the king for their own purposes. They can't actually sing so they have found a way to cheat. All in all, things are really starting to warm up in Arcadia. Can't wait to see how it is all going to sort itself out.

I was given an advanced copy of this book by the author. My review is voluntary.

Halia has finally escaped the boarding house and now is working as a singer trying to get her career off and running. Halia has also gotten a job working at the post office delivering the mail.

Just as Halia’s new life is taking off the world around her is falling apart. People are disappearing left and right the queen is still missing. With no one else seeming to care much about what is happening Halia takes it upon herself to find out what is going on. Halia believes if she can find the queen then maybe hopefully things will go back to normal besides someone has to help these people and stop them from disappearing.

As Halia’s world disrupts into chaos she is learning things about herself that may put her in harms way. Halia is learning that not only can she sing well but that her voice carries magic with in it.

Heiress of Melody is just as enthralling and enchanting as its predecessor Queen of Song. Heiress of Melody will pull you into its magical universe and all its wondrous glory. Heiress of Melody will have you racing to the end to see how it all turns out and in the end it will leave you wanting more from this magical world. I can’t wait to dive into the next book in this fairy tale retelling of Cinderella in the third book Throne of Symphony.

I highly recommend this retelling of Cinderella the second installment, Heiress of Melody but I do suggest that you start with the first book Queen of Song. One click your copies today!

The mystery of the disappeared Queen Ella and the strange coincidence with Doris.
Halia's powerful, compelling voice that can help unexpectedly in severe situations.
Butterflies in the belly whenever Lorenzo appears on the scene.
Hunting knife opening itself in my pocket whenever Victor appears. Or Madam Fontaine. Or those two spoiled creatures.
The mysterious disappearings. Shady fae business. And a national singing competition.
A lot to choose from, right? One simply cannot get bored while reading this twisted Cinderella story.
Halia is a great character becoming a completely new person right in front of the reader's eyes, and the more her strength shows up, the more her magical abilities demonstrate. Tia is an amazing friend, supportive, optimistic, ready to defend her best friend whenever needed. The allure and mystery around Lorenzo is definitely having effects on the female readers, and the more we get to know about him the more I adore him.
Please give me more now :))

Heiress of Melody is the second book in the Cinderall arc by J. A. Armitage and Margo Ryekerk.

The story continue where the first book left us. Halia have escaped Madam house and is now a star at Lorenzo bar but think aren't going well. First the Queen is missing. Halia belived she can find her and an ice statue of the Queen at the bar ressemble a lot like Doris who work at the kitchen at Madam place. But Doris can't or doesn't want to speak. Halia will try to find the truth. Thats not all, Halia voice also carries magic. She can compelled people with her singning to do what she wants.

I have really loved this book and can't wait to read the next one. I have received an arc of it from the author.

I love this serie sooo much already.

Book 2 of the cinderella stories.
The cover is magnificent, simple and gorgious. I would not know a better cover for this book.

The story continue's with Halia as an mail delivery woman that is doing everything she can to get into the national singing contest. In the mean time she wants to help out Doris the kichen maid and misses her best friend Tia when she goes of with Mikka. Where book one gives an overview of the characters it is obvious that book 2 is getting deeper and deeper into the storyline.
There can be found many intrigues, anger, love and many things more in this book.

I root for Halia and Lorenzo and would like to now soon what is going to happen next.

I was gifted this box set by the author as an ARC. This is a great story of family, friendship, love, mystery and suspense all wrapped in one! Two orphans are on their own once they reach the age of 18, and have to figure out how to make it on their own. While learning what being an adult is all about, they find their world is rapidly changing and not for the better! They must find a way to fix this, and along the way they find love, deceit, and MAGIC!
I loved this box set! The first book I literally could not put down! It was pretty much the same with the next three books, because I was in suspense. I had to know what happened next!
If you want to find out what happens AFTER Happily Ever After, I would definitely recommend giving this box set a try!

But she finds out where the missing queen is but when she confronts her the queen won’t let Halia help her escape. Now she has entered a singing contest against over 500 others hoping to win and let the King know where his missing queen is. But will it be too late? I loved this story! Strange things are happening in Arcadia, with people disappearing, others are aging overnight, the queen has disappeared and fights are breaking out. I love Halia! She’s working a new job, living in a new space, exploring new abilities and is determined to solve the mystery of her eyes and the unrest in her town. I love her positive and caring outlook, even when things she’s experiencing aren’t all good. This story has action, danger, mystery, Fae, soldiers, romance, demons, magic, a competition, singing, friends and twists and turns!

Halia's changing more than just her job, although the new job is bringing challenges she never expected! Her relationship with her best friend is changing, as is her relationship with her new manager. She is learning more about her magic too, including its potential dark side. The kingdom is becoming more dangerous and people are no longer treating each other with kindness. How it is is all related to the missing Queen? Short, fast moving read that manages to squeeze in a lot of plot elements and ends with a doozy of a cliff hanger!

Trigger warning - this book contains an attempted rape

Halia escaped the boarding house from book 1 but of course it was not all happily ever after for Halia and her friends. Something is going wrong and people are disappearing. It was fun to watch Halia learn to do things and the problems her and her friends encounter. The twists that occurred were entertaining and added to the story. Just a good book 2 in this series that retells the Cinderella story in a cool and interesting way. Loved the characters and the problems they encounter. Just a fun story.

Heiress of Melody is the 2nd installment and things are heating up. The citizens of Arcadia are becoming more violent. Halia has begun to believe in herself and the magic in her voice as she uses it to gather information as well as self-defense. As the mystery of Doris slowly unravels, Halia is certain that Queen Ella is the key to saving Arcadia. If Lorenzo does not get to Doris in time all may be loss. This has been an amazing read and I can’t wait to see what happens next.

While Queen of Song may have taken me a couple of chapters to get into, Heiress of Melody did not. This book picked up right with Queen of Song left off and I was delighted to be able to continue Halia's journey without missing a beat.

Things are not going well in the city of Arcadia and Halia is coming to terms with the fact that her singing is actually magical in nature. Determined to help her city she joins the royal singing competition.

The next step in the story, Halia is determined to help solve the current problems arising in Arcadia.
Using her new found gift, she is starting to put the pieces together whilst also trying to find out about the mystery of her eyes which has eluded her, her whole life.
With the help of her old and new friends, she is on the way...

Action expanding the plot

This story is a good second book, expanding our understanding of the characters, Halia's power, and the evil increasing in the kingdom. The conclusion leads well into the next book. Strong parallels to the classic Cinderella are unfolding.
