Hennessy Daniels
Mannnnnnn Hennessy is a wild girl! My first book by this author and I’m blown away. Hennessy childhood made her grow up so fast and she lived 2 adult lives before the age of 16. Miami childhood was no better but they both had pain in common so they let their pain bring them together to love each other. Hennessy kept messing up and she knew she was wrong. The events that happened throughout the book had me smh at Henny I hope she get her act together and stop blaming everything on her parents but overall this was a good book with a few minor issues but nothing big that took away the story. I definitely recommend

My last…
Boy that darn Henny was pissing me off the things that she was doing. Miami was a good guy, and she was just playing with his heart. I really wanted Henny to say away from Dre because home boy was trouble. Now Miami done got caught up.

Lu! On everything I love I wasn’t ready for that ending! I knew some bull was about to happen! I could feel it😂😂 You got me scared to turn the page! I’m clutching my pearls! Henny needs to grow up! I know Dre set that up! I love Rea for Miami! I need book 2!

Man you brought the heat with this one! I love Miami and Hennessy! In the beginning it didn’t hold my attention that well but as the story went on I did not want to put it down. Hennessy gotta get her self together Miami is such a good guy. I’m ready to see what happens next.

To the very last drop.
What can I say.... Lucinda is a true storyteller! Her way of pulling the audience in is amazing and authentic. Page 1 caught my attention, and I didn’t look back. Miami and Hennessy was soooo much alike, but Miami’s growth was evident. His character made me laugh, sad and left me intrigued. Hennessy is prolly one of the most .... hmmm... hardheaded characters I’ve read about in a while. She made some stupid choices, but her decisions only revealed the reality in relationship;no relationship is perfect. I’m really hoping she come out on top in part 2. I’m sooo rooting for her and Miami! I’m hoping her crackhead mammy don’t become a threat. Come on part 2! I’m ready for another 5 star read.

Awe shiddddd! Hennessy and Miami were 2 kids from two fudged up backgrounds in their home life! Hennessy’s dad was a drunk and her momma Aiko was a crack head who was the lowest of the low! By the time Hennessy was 16 she was being kept by her abusive man Kenny. Miami came from a loving home but one night his Dad came home and murdered the family and Miami lived. When these two come across each other in school, there is a connection. Hanging together is not soo bad but when Hennessy wants to be Miami’s Gf he’s not ready so with one pill from Dre she is giving up those goodies. Rhea wants Miami. It he is not going for it. Miami forgives her and two kids 16yrs old getting abused physically, sexually and unable to take it anymore devise a plan, move on their love and the Sky is the limit. At 21 Hennessy and Miami are living their best life! The past starts to haunt them as Dre ones back disturbing their peace and lands Miami at Nurse Rhea Wilson’s door but Miami is the truth. I just love him!!! Just as the 2 lovebirds get back on track, Dre I hiding in the shadows tryinto punk Miami and his right hand man South. Shootout occurs and 2 people are hit and Hennessy is alone with her baby maybe? Wow part is going to be real interesting and hell on wheels!!! Hennessy is losing her mind and I pray she does not get in bed with the enemy!

This book is terrible
I got to 36 % before giving up on it.. I literally cannot stand it when authors write exactly the way they talk.. and I was often wondering how did we get here because she was jumping all over the place it was just a nightmare and im really irritated that I wasted my time reading the lil bit I did read I skimmed the rest just to see if I would end how I thought it would n yes I predicted it i used to like lucinda john alot but man the last couple books have just been sour n these reviews for this is very over rated she needs to get her dictionary out n learn new words and learn how to speak to her reader this book didn't keep my interest AT ALL.. which is very unusual and unfortunately I will not be reading part two.. If I could have given 0 stars I would have sorry lucinda but this book was awful n ik you have potential smh I couldn't even like any of the characters

Let me start off by saying Henessy really and truly pissed me off. Sis literally went from a guy who didnt respect her and beat on her.....To a guy who respected and loved her and did everything for her. That along with the fact that she litterlaly only had 1 encounter with Dre before her and Miami met and she can't resist him like wtf, you didnt even try. Is that even his baby seeing as tho she messed with Dre twice unprotected. I hope Miami finds someone better than Henessy she honestly dosent deserve him but I'm sure in the end they will end up together. Anyway it was well written and I'm glad it was on the longer side. It had a a few spelling small spelling errors but great book none the less. The story kinda started off a bit slow but picked up to be really good.

Excellent read
I really enjoyed this book. It was different from most books I've read of this genre. Ms. John is one of my favorite writers and this book lives up to past writings. I would have given five stars but for the fact it was ended on a cliffhanger with a second installment. I don't like these type of books because the author takes too long to complete the story or, horror of horrors, neglects to complete it at all. Fortunately, the next part was already available. On second thought, I'll give five stars. There are interesting characters and situations that kept my attention.

I can't I just can't it's just it's a lot I cannot stand Hennessy she is so selfish and weak she don't deserve Miami he needs to be with Rea she's just like her mother everything is her fault and I don't feel sorry for her not one bit got me all in my feelings I don't really have much else to say I'm going to head on over to book two but this is definitely a read that's going to have you all your feelings got me all emotional and s*** Miami is a good dude I don't understand her smdh

Satisfied Reader
Hennessy was dealt a bad hand at life but she played the cards the best as she could. Akin was a sad case and didn’t deserve children. Kenny deserved everything coming his low down way but I bet that’s not the end of him. Dre was Hennessy addiction and she’s going to overdose and end up in trouble. Miami got himself in trouble so what will happen when his time is up

The storyline was just ok for me. Hennessy was just too weak for me. Miami was as thorough as they came. Miami gave Hennessy everything, and he was faithful to her, just for her to sleep with Dre. Hennessy had a choice to be with Dre, but she chose to cheat on Miami. The girl was strung out on percocets, so she was trailing down the same path as her mother, Aiko. Hennessy needed to get herself together, and push to get Miami out of jail.

Now this is a great read. Hennessy got on my nerves with her cheating though. Like come on now girl that man is doing all he can to make you happy. Miami is bae. PERIODT! I still think Dre did it though. I do hope the next book don’t turn out how I think it will. I just can’t wait to read it.

Weak women suck
The story line was great I just hate how weak and impulsive Hennessy was. She didn't deserve Miami yet I was rooting for her to realize what a good dude she had. Then she announced that she was pregnant and the baby probably belongs to Dre. Smh

This book did not hold my interest. I struggled to finish. No excitement, the end was okay but not enough to encourage me to order the next one. I've read others by this author and enjoyed her writing but this one I'm not feeling.
