The Cost Of Loving You

Rate this book
Jaylen Murphy didn’t always have it good growing up. Being raised by a single mother, he had seen a lot. Enough to know that he needed to do better so they could have better, especially since he had a younger sister that looked up to him. With his mother’s dreams of him going to college, Jaylen decides to give it a go. Once he realizes singing is where his heart is, he flips the script and gets serious about his God given talent and starts pursuing a career in music. In doing so, he knows he needs to get rid of his toxic relationship with his college girlfriend, Nikki, due to her conniving ways that he has finally outgrown. Plus, with visions of stardom set in his sights, he knows she is not the type of woman that can handle his fame or that he wants to take along with him for the ride. Little does he know, Nikki has plans of her own and is not giving up on their relationship without unleashing a few tricks up her sleeve, before she is completely counted out of the equation. During Jaylen’s tenure at Millburn University, he meets Shanell, a late transfer that flawlessly blazes the scene. With Jaylen’s eyes now set on her, they later become very close, leaving Nikki jealous and bitter and watching from the sidelines. When Jaylen suddenly leaves college to pursue his career full-time, he has hopes of Shanell being the lady by his side for the long haul. Unbeknownst to him, Shanell is harboring some shameful demons from her jaded past that regretfully is keeping her from wanting to share in any parts of the spotlight. With Jaylen on the come up, his life takes a whole new direction, giving him more than what he can bargain for, like a vengeful ex from Shanell’s past that is looking to collect on a debt that she didn’t even expect to pay. What will happen when both their pasts keep having a big impact on their future, wreaking havoc and chaos in their lives, changing them forever. Find out what the ultimate price will be for The Cost of Loving You.

Drama all around!
Shanell worked my nerves always running from her problems. El and Nikki needs to be handled quickly! That girl that's feeding El information is sorry for all that. How can you be that much in love with someone you never met. She's such a hater. That ending got me looking real crazy!
