Ulster: A Novel of Northern Ireland

Rate this book
The Anglo-Irish War was a violent affair. For two long years the conflict raged, until the signing of a peace treaty granting partial independence to twenty-six of Ireland’s thirty-two counties, to be known as the Irish Free State. The northern six counties of Ulster were not included. Predominantly Protestant and fiercely loyal to the Crown, they opted to remain a British province. A line had been drawn across Ireland, partitioning it in two.
