I would say this is one of the best investments I ever made towards my Japanese education. While this book will not make you fluent in Japanese, (and let's face it, what book will) it will teach you how to form basic sentences and get you talking. I took a break from this book after eight chapters to start Genki, but I decided to finish it and I am so glad that I did. I highly recommend this book to anyone trying to learn Japanese and I have grown fond of the publishing company Tuttle (I ordered a "Basic Japanese" online a few days ago). By the end of this year, I hope to become an A2 beginner and be able to take a Japanese course. I wish everyone good luck on their language learning journeys. Sayonara!
Side Note: I am not being sponsored by Tuttle Publishing, I just like their books.
