Until You #2

Unveiled

Rate this book
I've got a giant secret no one knows about. Well, two secrets, if you count my spending the last decade stuck hopelessly in love with my brother's best friend, a man who’s spent most of his life seeing what comes of a not-happily-ever-after ending between two people.

Interestingly, the fact that my heart is stubbornly holding onto this ill-advised crush is actually related to my other secret. It’s sort of an occupational hazard, really, when you’re the pseudonymous author behind a popular series of wildly romantic books that are all fantastically dirty.

Seriously, if this gets out, it won’t be a huge leap to figure out why my ridiculously rugged heroes are all government-issued. Or why the hottest one by far bears a striking resemblance to a certain disciplined-to-the-max, protective-to-the-extreme Marine who treats me like a kid sister.

So, here we are, my two secrets and I sharing the same roof as Lucas Weaver for a stint, with me seemingly unable to stop ruffling and riling him up at every turn. What can I say? Clearly, I'm not the same girl I was when I first started falling for him. But then again, he's not exactly the same guy either.

Because those fictional heroes I've been basing on Lucas?

They've got nothing on him now that he knows...everything.

NOTE: It was such a blast collaborating with my great friend Tessa Wood (who’s just masterful with the sweet & steamy) on this **ALL NEW** book for Lucas & Theresa. Hope you have as much fun reading this co-written story as we had writing it (it's a first for us both, but definitely not the last)!

I adored Lucas and Theresa. This is a best friends sister, friends to lovers book. I love this trope, and this book was great. Lots of lingering looks, super sexy sciences and exactly the amount of romance you want from the alpha marine hero. Btw the heroine is an author . . .

I loved this book. It was like the authors plucked all of my favourite character traits right out of my head and onto the pages of this book in the form or Theresa and Lucas. When they are together the chemistry is undeniable, their banter enjoyable, and they are mature enough to communicate in a realistic way about their thoughts and feelings. I appeciated that the author's gave the characters motivations in their actions as many forget that the reader needs to connect with the charcter and to do so requires thought and empathy. Lately I have read quite a few bad romances where the leads act ridiculous and it is impossible to know why becasue the author doesn't consider motivation, only angst/drama.

Theresa is confident, talented, intelligent, and a great best friend/sister. She also has a couple secrets; she is a successful closeted romance author and she has been in love with her brother's best friend for years, going to far as to base her latest hero on him!

Lucas is as steadfast as they come; driven, passionate, with a protective streak a mile long. After watching his parents marriage fall apart he's a little wounded and comes to the conclusion that he can't be a Marine, away from home all the time and have his happily ever after. Deciding it's time to claim the woman of his dreams the time has come for him to transition to civilian life.

If you are looking for another recommendation with a herione that is secretly an author (a pretty small niche, I know) then check out Romancing Mister Bridgerton by Julia Quinn. It's on my reread list to which I will be adding Unveiled.

Unrequited love, secrets being revealed and then, kittens. My heart squeezed. Truly.

My only complaint is that I wish the story had been a little longer with more of a slow burn and the depth that would come from a longer novel. Of course, that is becasue I loved Theresa and Lucas so much and wanted to spend more time with them.

This is the second book (and I think final, even though it looks like the author had more planned? Maybe the third one will be released someday?) in this series. Book one featured Belle and Corwin. This book is about Theresa and Lucas. Theresa is Belle's best friend and Corwin's sister. Lucas is best friends with Corwin.

Theresa and Lucas have known each other for years. Lucas is in the military, so he's been gone for a few years. He comes home to help with Corwin and Belle's wedding. He's also figuring out his future and where the military fits in with it.

This book is actually very similar to the first book in the series. We have a best-friend's sibling romance. Both have been interested in the other one for years, but neither made a move. The women in both books never imagined that the heroes could have those same feelings for them. It's all pretty standard stuff.

I think I did enjoy this one a bit more, however because I felt that I got to know Lucas and Theresa a bit better than I did Corwin and Belle. I also liked the friendship that Lucas and Theresa built. I will say Theresa was frustrating. She didn't want Lucas to make a decision about his future based on his relationship with her, so she just kept running hot and cold. The dude is an adult, and is written to be more than competent. I get that her insecurities were also about her, but the back and forth between them was getting old, and this is a short read.

Not a bad story, but, as with the first, it won't go down as particularly memorable.

Fabulous brother's-best-friend romance!

Theresa and Lucas don't waste much time acknowledging their attraction to each other, but the devil's in the details, and with his life at a crossroads and her focus on her brother's wedding, these two really have to put some effort into figuring out what they really have beyond their insatiable chemistry.

As much as I loved Belle and Corwin's story (Unraveled), this one is better, longer, more emotionally in-depth and (dare I say it) steamier. Lucas makes the most of what he learns about Theresa through her writing, in the bedroom as well as in her heart. These two aren't afraid to ask each other the hard questions, calling out possible hidden motivations, and confronting the tough issues.

Theresa's humor shines brightly throughout the book, as all but the last chapter are in her first-person POV (Lucas has the last chapter). The thread with the kittens made for some seriously swoony moments, too. Oh, and fair warning - you're going to want some French toast when you're done reading this book. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

I so enjoyed this read about Lucas and Theresa, both characters we have met and now they get their own story. Theresa has had a crush on Lucas forever but in the last few years he has ghosted her, so when he comes back home for her brother’s wedding and he is tasked with her for the planning, she isn’t sure what his intentions are. Lucas witnessed the falling out of his parents marriage and vowed to never get involved until he was out of the service so he could give all of himself to the relationship....now he just has to convince Theresa he is all in and wants just her.
A great swoon read that also had me chuckling a few times. I liked these two and their attraction which was sigh and swoon worthy. Theresa had a great head on her shoulders and asked the right tough questions and made all the right decisions when it came to the two of them, making sure it was right between them. Lucas was a dream, intense and beautiful, taking to heart what Theresa said and respected it. I missed Lucas’ POV but there was a nice surprise in the end when we finally get his thoughts and feelings shared.

This is a great take on the brothers best friend romance - While Theresa is busy helping her best friend and brother plan their wedding, her brother's best friend comes to town to stay with her parents and help fix up their house for selling.

Theresa's had a long running crush, and the sexy heroes in her best selling romance books are all based on him to some degree. And while her career is something she's kept under her hat, it takes no time at all for Lucas to make the connection...both that she's the author, and that the books are based on him.

These two are crazy sexy together, but they are also able to have the hard conversations, so that they both go into their new relationship with their eyes wide open, ready to put in the work needed to have a successful go of love.

One of my favorite parts of this book was the authors perspective. I loved reading the mindset and process of Theresa's career. There's something very intriguing when an author writes about...writing, because you know you're getting a glimpse into their own process.

Unveiled was kind of bland and hard to get into. It goes off so much about the women's body insecurity that she is then pictured that way for the rest of the story. There are parts that feel a bit choppy and hard to picture the transition that is not clearly stated. I don't understand why the Epilogue is two chapters that take up 20% of the book. And what is with the guy getting jealous of the lotion he is putting on her? How do you get jealous of lotion?
In both Unveiled and the book before it Unraveled, with her brother and best friend, the girl has a crush on the guy forever and feels invisible. The guy suddenly showed that he has been hiding his feelings all these years and he is now at a point in his life where he can fit her in.
Overall if you liked the first book, Unraveled, you will probably like this one. Not much difference between the two. The girl best friends end up hooking up with the boy best friends.
While I wouldn't necessarily say it is bad, I do think it is a waste of time and money to read.

Theresa is hiding a couple of secrets.
one that she is a successful, established author of romance novels and the other that she has always had a crush on Lucas.
Lucas is her brothers best friend and with her believing shes on the more curvy side she never thought she was even on his radar.
Turns out though Theresa isn't the only one with a secret.
Lucas has a secret of his own, that unbeknown to Theresa he's always had a thing for her.
Having watched his parents turn their marriage to hate Lucas didn't want to act on his feelings until he knew the time was right and nothing would get in their way, including him being away all the time as a marine.
I loved Lucas he knows exactly what he wants and goes for it, he has a hot mouth but also a softer side that rescues kittens and isn't afraid to say how he feels.
Him and Theresa make a great, hot couple.
A good read. I would've possibly liked a few chapter in Lucas point of view though not just the final epilogue.

I loved this brother's best friend romance story.
Theresa is a steamy romance writer and wedding planner for her bestie's nuptials to her brother. She has had a crush on Lucas Weaver since high school. Lucas is her brother Corwin's best friend and best man in his upcoming wedding. While helping her parents get their house ready to sell he finds a case of her signed books and starts reading them. He soon realizes she is an author (secret from her family) and he is the hero in her books. He makes his move on her after stating he has had a crush on her forever. They agree to keep it secret until he decides his future plans. At Corwin's wedding Lucas proposes. They have a long engagement before marrying and having their HEA.

Is there anything hotter than a sexy marine bound and determined to have the woman of his dreams? The answer is no. Unveiled is Lucas and Theresa’s story. Theresa is spunky and curvaceous, she’s a successful romance author with a huge following- a secret she keeps near and dear. Lucas is a special ops military man who has loved and lusted after his best friend’s little sister for a very long time. Things come to a head between Lucas and Theresa while planning her brother’s wedding. Their attraction is off the charts hot and their coming together is explosive. Overcoming the obstacles in their path takes a little bit of time but their love is strong and cannot be denied. A sexy read that you should definitely add to your TBR list and enjoy with a glass of wine - you’re welcome. (I read an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.)

Lucas and Theresa's story was a very fun and swoon worthy read. I thought that these characters were extremely likable and if you have read book one of this series, Unraveled they will be familiar. Do not worry if you haven't it is not a problem because I feel you could enjoy this book easily as a standalone read. However, it was a really great read and I loved Corwin and Belle so much that I do think you would enjoy it. Now as for this book, there is a lot of cuteness, humor, sizzling steam and emotional turmoil in the story line, but also a fair share of realism and a bit of angst. At its heart though it is just a very sweet and quit hot story about a love that starts early and then endures and evolves despite deep unspoken feelings, distance, fears and insecurities. This is my independent, impartial review.

Great brothers best friend story of Theresa and Lucas. Theresa is preparing for the wedding of her brother and her best friend when Lucas shows up back in town. Lucas is on leave from the Marines and is not only contemplating leaving the service but starting a relationship with Theresa. Theresa has had a crush on Lucas since they were kids and finds out that apparently Lucas had the same feelings.
Best part of this story was that although they found their sexual chemistry off the charts early on, both had issues to consider (an upcoming wedding for Theresa and change of career and lifestyle for Lucas). Because of these issues, they took the next step of their relationship slow and the friendship the always had began to grow even stronger.

What a swoon-worthy read! Everyone needs a Lucas in their lives. This man knew what he wanted and was determined to get it. He may have taken his time getting there but as the old saying goes, better late than never. Theresa was so sweet and lovable. I would love to have her as a friend. I understood her doubts though. I mean the man did push her away for years. I love that these two got their HEA. The only thing that bothered me was that even though this was a short 15 chapter book it just seemed a little to long in thought. There were moments when I just wanted to get to the point. Oh and I would have loved a bit more from Lucas too. But otherwise it was a really my great swoon-worthy read. *I voluntarily read an advanced copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.*

This book was well worth the very long wait. I loved everything about it. I have no complaints. Lucas and Theresa are perfect. The story was sweet and oh so steamy which is what I expect from Christa. I adore Christa and she is one of my favorite authors. I have read almost all of her books and I am never disappointed. When I found out that Tessa Wood was writing Unveiled with Christa I was pleasantly surprised as well as excited. I had already read Boss of my panties by Tessa Wood. It was steamy, delicious, and entertaining. I signed up for her newsletter so that I can stay up to date with her. Great job ladies. I look forward to your next collaboration. Until next time y’all happy reading.

I love a brother's best friend romance and this was no exception. Belle and Corwin from the previous Until You book are getting married and Theresa, Corwin's sister and Belle's best friend is planning the wedding. Corwin's best friend, Lucas, is recruited to help in the planning, which would be fine if Theresa hadn't been in love with Lucas forever! Lucas has very set ideas on what his relationships should look like, especial as he watched his parents disintegrating relationship. Can they work through their issues and acknowledge that what they feel is more than just physical?
Great story, perhaps a few chapters from Lucas's pov, but really it's a minor thing. Enjoyable, cuddle up with a blanket read.

Awesome new read by Christa Wick. Unveiled is book 2 in the Until You Series and is Lucas and Theresa's story. Theresa has crushed on Lucas since she was a teenager and they have always had a big brother/little sister relationship. But now that he is on leave from the military the chemistry is explosive. Lucas is home for the wedding of his best friend who is also Theresa's brother. And Theresa and Lucas are both keeping their own secrets from everyone. As best man Lucas agrees to help Theresa with the wedding plans and to help her parents get ready to move, feelings and secrets are revealed. 5 stars-Highly recommend.

Unveiled is one hot brother best friend story. This book will suck you in with its hotness from the very start. I love Lucas and Theresa. They have this chemistry that is amazing and sweet. Yet you get the naughty side from them too once everything is laid out on the table. I love Theresa and how she knows what she wants and isn't afraid to step back when needed. Lucas is just so swoon worthy. You will see what I mean once you read this one. I couldn't put this down. Fanning myself just thinking of Theresa and Lucas together. I love this book.

This was a cute story! Theresa has been in love with her brother's best friend for years. Lucas joined the Marines and ghosted her. He comes back into the picture for the upcoming wedding of Corwin and Belle. ( Theresa's brother and her best friend) Lucas decides to help Theresa with the wedding planning. He stumbles across some books that he realizes T has written and reads them. He finds out that all her heroes are based on him. He plans on using the information he reads to make T his. I really enjoyed reading it!

Baby Bird...

What happens when the matchmaker becomes the match? Theresa has secrets. One of which is her crush on Lucas. Who wouldn't have a crush on Lucas? His rescuing of the kittens made my heart swoon. Will Lucas be able to convince Theresa that a life with her, his Baby Bird, and the kitten Loki is what he truly wants?

Such great reading!
It’s fun to see our heroine as a romance writer, and where she finds inspiration for her heroes. Lucas and Theresa are lifelong friends whose relationship takes on a dramatic change after a few years apart. Theresa and her BFF, Belle, have a bit of a history of making sneaky moves on each other. I love the sense of humor; not just with these two, but throughout the story. The romance is thrilling: sweet, but, oh, so sexy. The entire book is a real treat! Read and enjoy.

Cute and hot romance
3.5
The story is pretty cute, well written, but still very hot between the two heroes. I found it a bit simple to my taste, but it remains extremely romantic.
Theresa always had a crush on her brother's best friend who fled her. She quickly discovers that Lucas was waiting because of his job with the Marines, but once this point is updated, they advance quickly, maybe even too quickly for Theresa

Lucas n Theresa

They've been skirting around each other for years. Now Lucas is back. It's been two years since they've spoken or seen each other. He's back and determined to see this through with Theresa.

Lucas and Theresa are perfect for each other. They now can talk to each other and both listen. A lot had changed and they both fall into what turns out to be the greatest love.

I don't hand out 5* ratings but this story touched my heart. LOVED it and recommend it!

Unveiled is a collaboration of what makes romance a flavorful experience. Lucas and Theresa are adept at making the heart smile while tempting your socks off with a dash of not so subtle naughty. Wick and Woods join forces to give the heart what it wants. An emotional temptation with a side of delight.

I love brother’s best friend romance story and this newest release did not disappoint. Lucas and Theresa’s chemistry was hot from the start and got hotter as they dived into each other. Their character were a perfect match and their story was sweet to watch blossom. I love this series and Lucas and Theresa’s story was more than I expected.

There was so much to love about this book - their seven nightly texts, the song Lucas chose for their wedding, and that proposal! I cried so much with that proposal, it was so beautiful!
