In this short story prequel, we delve into the mind of the beast himself, long before he ever stumbled upon Little Red Riding Hood.
There are a handful of traits that define Wolf. Self-assured, arrogant, a womanizer, an assassin, and he’s a smug bastard. Just to name a few. He takes what he wants with no apologies, content to blame his faults on the beast that lurks within.
His job is an easy one for him and has everyone fearful of crossing his path. But despite the dangerous aura that surrounds him, it doesn’t stop women from jumping into his bed, in fact, it’s all part of the allure.
After all, who doesn’t love a bad boy with a few dark secrets?
**Warning: Content is intended for a mature audience only, 18+ as there are graphic sexual scenes and violence. This is a prequel to the reverse harem fairy tale retelling: Bleeding Red, from Once Upon Another World Boxed Set, set for release in Oct.
USA Today bestselling author, D.E. Chapman is a fantasy novel addict that reads them as much as she writes them, often pretending to be her characters. After all, life is infinitely more exciting with magic and dragons. She hopes to one day write a book so fantastical that it creates a portal to another world. But beware, not all she writes is sunshine and happy endings. There are darker stories hiding within the depths of her mind, filled with mature content and twisted themes, so tread with caution!
The burning question of “Who was the Wolf before he met Red?” is answered in this prequel that examines the intricacies of the beast’s character before he met Red Riding Hood. This story is told from the Big Bad Wolf's perspective. Aside from his arrogant, full-of-himself, womanizer persona, he’s actually a hitman assassin in this version of the story. It’s a totally different look than we were ever given in the fairy tale and takes us off in quite different directions!

Cliffhanger(?): Yes! I’m never disappointed by D.E. Chapman’s writing! I need to get my hands on the next book! :D Heat: 3-3.5/5 Drama: 3.5/5 Suspense: 5/5 Dark: 3ish/5 No Spoilers!
A truly unique twist on the Little Red Riding Hood tale, but with one heck of a twist at the end! This short story is told from the Big Bad Wolf's perspective and he really is quite bad in so many ways. This prequel certainly aroused my curiosity about the full story. I am pretty disappointed I have to wait until October, 10 months away, to find out the end of this fairy tale. Perhaps Ms. Chapman would have been better served if this was released closer to the release date of the anthology.
I really enjoyed this short punchy read. It was well written and the characters and story were well developed. I liked the characters individual personalities and their dynamics with each other. The story was short but punchy and full of twists and turns. I can’t wait for the first book!! I’d highly recommend this short read!!

This book is well written and a prequel. Since it's a prequel the story is not complete. The main character is strong and is definitely all male and full of himself. We learn about the assassin’s work and the world he lives in. His next assignment will be featured in a continuation of the story. I myself can’t wait to read it!
This is a very short RH story. This is a great introduction to the series. This is a unique spin on the fairytale retelling. This is well written and make me very intrigued for more of this series.

Not badly written, but I don’t know if I really want to know anything more about this douche. The lead character is kind of an asshole. I didn’t really see anything about him that I was curious about. Disappointing.
Not great but not horrid either. As a short story, it wasn't long enough for much world building or character development but the potential was kinda there. That said, there were some grammar issues and the writing style was a bit stilted.
Wow I love the way the author grabbed my attention from the very beginning! This short story made me want to know more about him and the ending ended in a way I can wait to read the next one but I'm interested and will for sure read it lol
The title says it all. He's a heartless wolf. Pretty full of himself and he's a hitman. I'm glad i have the next book because I do what to read Bleeding Red
