Rate this book
It’s a baffling time when quirky dreams become reality in the next mystifying installment of the Paramour Bay Mysteries by USA Today Bestselling Author Kennedy Layne…

It’s that time of year when winter’s icy grasp is still hanging over the area, yet a few hopeful hints of spring are dangling in the crisp air. You know that moment when the feeling of regret has everyone on edge, thinking that maybe they should have gone ahead and taken their vacations in the deep south where the sun is still shining and warm, the birds are merrily chirping, and dreams are just dreams.

That’s not the case in the quaint coastal Connecticut town of Paramour Bay. Raven Marigold is flummoxed when not one, not two, but three shockingly realistic dreams have come true in the span of only one week. She might be a witch, but she knows for certain that she isn’t psychic. When a fourth dream reveals a wicked witch casting a fatal spell upon one of the Marigolds, it’s a race against time to prevent her nightmare from coming true.

These cozy mysteries have always been some of my favorites. Especially the Paramour Bay series. I finally started them again and I enjoyed this as much as I did the others. The characters are enjoyable and the awesome cat familiar, Leo is one of the best things about these books!

I know, I know. Book 11 of the series can't really be my favorite, right? Unfortunately, or fortunately, it actually is. The story is finally starting to come together and gain some extra intrigue.

I really like this series. It's a paranormal cozy mystery series revolving around Raven Marigold. Raven is a woman in her 30s who inherits just a little bit more than her late grandmother's tea shop. Not long after accepting the terms of owning the tea shop, Tea Leaves and Eaves (excuse the spelling, I listened to all of the books on audio), Raven discovers she comes from a family of real life witches. Not only that, but she is the latest witch in her family.

In this book of the series, Raven has started having dreams that come true. It started out fairly harmless with a local woman's hair turning blue, but quickly escalated into suspected attempted murder. Raven and her familiar, Leo, work together with her cousin Ry to determine whether these dream-state premonitions are due to an accident caused by Leo knocking over a potion onto a dreamcatcher, or something a little more sinister.

The long standing threat of a coven war comes closer to a head in this installment. This is the part that really had me on the edge of my seat. I wanted to know whether they'd actually be turned into toads, like Leo feared, or if they'd make any headway into dissolving the tensions.

Though I don't plan to reread this series, and I don't often find myself thinking of the story shamelessly, I had to give this book 4 stars because of the grip it held on me. I simply had to know how it was going to end. And, I can't wait to dive into book 12.

Baffling Blend (Paramour Bay Book #11)
The Paramour Bay Series by Kennedy Layne proved to be full of fun cozy mysteries full of paranormal intrigue, and heartwarming charm. Set in the enchanting seaside town of Paramour Bay, the series follows Raven Marigold, who is a relatable and endearing character who discovers she’s a witch. From the very first book, I was drawn into a world filled with magical mishaps, quirky townsfolk, and a touch of humor that kept the tone light and engaging.
Paramour Bay came alive with its quaint shops, mysterious coves, and a community that’s as eccentric as it is lovable. Ms. Layne’s writing style is approachable and immersive, making it so easy for me to lose myself in the pages (in a great way – NOT in a ‘I have no idea of what’s going on’ way 😊). Each book introduces a new mystery, often tied to the supernatural, and the twists are clever without being overly complex - perfect for fans of cozy mysteries.
So, whether you’re a fan of paranormal tales, cozy mysteries, or simply looking for a feel-good series to curl up with, Paramour Bay is a magical escape that will leave you smiling. It’s a perfect brew of mystery, magic, and heart. Highly recommended for readers who enjoy a touch of whimsy with their whodunits.

Happy Reading…

This book started out quite good but ended with a thud.

No one died and it didn't end quite right. I borrowed this book from Kindle Unlimited. This in no way affects my opinion of this book which I read and reviewed voluntarily.

The Satan feathered minions and the dreamcatcher

Sorry but this, although a decent read, was not up to the standards of the previous books. The mystery was so, so the lighter, funny moments lacking and the whole thing just meandered along.
A dreamcatcher, premonitions that turn out to be true, her mother's life in danger and her handsome boyfriend caring for his sister miles away. Leo is so, so in this episode - his normal flights of the ridiculous sadly curtailed. Now she and Rye have to work out what is the real problem. A coven in the process of splitting up, an ancient stone that refuses to let any members talk to the ancestral witches. Can she find out why and keep the answer hidden?

Another Homerun by Kennedy Layne

Excellent book in this light hearted well-written series. The humour is perfectly balanced with the mystery plots in this series. I absolutely love the commentary that Leo delivers. That cat has some of best dialogue for any talking animal in any book I've read. The book is especially revealing because it mostly deals with the overall plot of the entire series. I loved it and can't wait to read more in the unique series.

Fun reading

Eleven books in, and this author still has me hooked! Raven is such a charmer, and she's embracing her heritage and the steep learning curve. The mystery is a (nonviolent?) pleasant change of pace to solve, although, with a mother and great-aunt who embrace the "wicked" in witch...

Dreams or premonitions?

Raven suddenly starts have dreams which come true. And they get scarier.
It takes a bit of detective work and relying on friends to get to the bottom of this one.

Leo is too annoying to deal with

I enjoy the other characters but I seem to be waiting in vain for the cat to stop being an ass. I look forward to seeing the plot twists that have been hinted at, but find that level of selfish foolishness irritating

2.5ish

I have to say, the deeper we get in this series, the more I dislike her mother.

At least this was a faster read than the previous book.

Why am I still reading this series? To pass the time when I don't have anything else to read.

Fun addition

I enjoyed the story building. There really wasn't a mystery, but more like an uncovering the past very slowly. Looking forward to the next in the series

This book once again proves how much I enjoy magic mysteries.

Get yourself a cauldron and put inside some ingredients, such as premonitions, cursed objects, magical dreamcatchers, a death threat, and witch drama, and you are in for a TREAT.

I LOVED the coven drama development and the revelations that came with it. Raven and Rai working together as a team warmed my heart. And though Leo is still somewhat annoying, he’s growing on me.

This mystery was all on Raven and connecting the dots was still all her, and I loved that for her. It wasn’t a mystery that solved itself or was not a mystery to begin with.

Some details from the past were finally revealed and when you add a sprinkle of magic you are presented with a lovely story.
