Our high school years should be filled with beautiful, fun memories. Not nightmares that visit you every night.
Our high school years should be about your first crush and your first kiss. Not meet four unbelievably gorgeous boys that make your life a living hell and melt your panties all at the same time.
Now that both my parents are dead, I have been swept off to Bridal Creek to live with my aunt Celine. She has my best interests at heart; however, the rest of the family, not so much.
Her entitled step kids and their crew run Bridal Creek High and they're out for a taste of my blood. But my skin is pretty thick, coming from a trailer park and all. I'll take them down one by one.
I'm not afraid, but something deep down tells me I should be.
Authors Note: BCH or Bridal Creek High is a young and new adult reverse harem academy highschool bully series. This is recommended for 17+ readers because of cursing and 'certain scenes'. So if you're into that kind of thing then stick around. #whychoose bully romance. Book 1 does end with a cliffhanger
sorry....don’t think the heroine is anything special to the guys when orgies and sharing is normal for them. I need my RH guys to be so OTT in love with the heroine that they are willing to share her...not when it’s common place for them...
Quinn was living a life with just her and her mother after her father died. They might not have had much money as they lived in the trailer park and she worked in a diner, but they loved each other. One evening walking home, the pair are mugged and one of them ends up wounded and the other dead. Now Quinn is an orphan and she has a long-lost aunt who has shown up to take Quinn home to live with her and her family. Soon Quinn is transported from her trailer park home in Miami to Silicon Valley - A world of wealth and elites. When Quinn arrives, she meets her cousins Tyler and Liv. We are briefly told that they are her Aunt's step-children but I do have to admit the closeness that they have to Celine, I felt like they were her real children which is why I felt that Quinn and Tyler's love/hate relationship was a little incestuous but then again it's similar to the old stepbrother romances that were once the trope to read. From the beginning, Tyler has it out for Liv and I don't know if part of it is that he's just angry as both twins are still grieving for their brother who died or if he genuinely is a bully. Near the end of the book, we see Tyler having this protector yet enemy vibe going on. Pariah was an average bullymance story, but I did love how it had a little romantic suspense feel to the story. Pariah also ends on a cliffhanger where Tyler learns about the truth of why Quinn ended up with them.
This was a good start... Not liking Tyson right now, he has alot explaining to do. I feel sorry for Quinn. I recommend this book. Thanks Jamie Nibarger Ellis
I honestly didn't want to review it, but I think I should maybe someone would find it helpful. I was done with this book at 42%. I tried to like this book like literally tried, but nope the girl Quinn grated on my nerves. Now whenever I don't like a character I think it's my fault after all we all hated DOLORES UMBRIDGE, right so yeah. But when i don't connect with the characters i think writer is at fault. But here i just didn't like the protagonist.
Isn't death supposed to change you? Like for better or for worse, but Quinn was treating it like a disney movie. Now se can make best of things but somehow i don't think anyone would be thinking of boys when your mom just died. Tyson had a reason to dislike her after all someone's invading your home, but why did Quinn behaves the way she does is beyond me.
It was Tyson. I flagged him down. “Hey!” He rolled down the window. “What?” Damn! “What’s with the attitude? I need a ride.” I snapped at his shitty attitude. “Not my problem,” he replied, rolled his window back up again and drove off. Well i didn't see Tyson's attitude in this, she had the attitude problem here. Like dude you are invading someone's home be a little humble, a little polite.
Overall the book was way too dramatic than I like.
Just one day in school and already, I hated the fact that I lived at his house. Of all the people Aunt Celine had to marry, it had to be Robert Pierce, father of my high school nightmare. Sweetheart its just 2 days and he became your nightmare without doing anything, meh!
The thought occurred to me then that what I needed was a boyfriend. Maybe one of his friends. That should do him in. I laughed at myself after the thought escaped my innermost self – I was no villain. I couldn’t pull off using one of his friends to get to him. Especially when it already seemed like that was exactly where they wanted me. I wouldn’t give them the satisfaction – they could rail on me all they wanted. I wasn’t going to show them any amount of gratitude. It wasn’t like I needed it. I was fine. But it was still a nice idea – fucking one of his friends. A wicked smile crossed my lips as I imagined the look on his face when he found out. I could even fuck him, whichever one it was when I knew he’d catch me. Maybe I would do it in his bed. That was most ridiculous thing I've ever read in a book. Hello girl when did he say he was interested in you, delusional much?? Like what the hell. It was then when I was done with this book.
Obvious to say I wouldn't be reading the next book.
Quinn moves across country when her mom dies. The night is happend changed her forever. She goes to live with her aunt who she finds out is married to a very wealthy man with 2 kids her age that are twins. Her aunt tries to make her feel welcome. Her new step cousins not so much. She is bullied almost all the time for being trailer park trash and not growing up rich. Tyson her aunts step son makes it even more difficult and his group of friends never give her any peice. She make friends with 4 amazing girls and things start to look up even if she is falling for Ty. Then it comes crashing down when she is humiliated at a party and after that weekend she finds out the man who killed her mom could be after her next. Quinn isn't going to give up but she learns its time to build up her walls and reinforce them against Ty and his group.
K. Walker is new to me. Pariah is my first read, and I to say I am hooked!! So much happened here, I have so many questions. I need the answers.
The female lead Quinn, her strength, even when everything is against her, pulls me. She has had a very rough time, you will find out what it was, and starting the new year at a new school. She grew up in a trailer park, but with the death of her mom her aunt gets her. So now she moves into a mansion, with he Aunt, and her husband and step kids. They are twins, same age as Quinn. But if she was expecting a warm welcome she is sadly mistaken. She is toyed with, played with and tormented. She has no idea why. Tyson sets out to make her life hell, all the while saying she is his and his two friends. But she is no ones toy and she is her own person. Now just to show Tyson that and mean it.
I really cannot wait until book two Redemption comes out on the 18th. I need book two now!!
Wow what an intense book. Had some tones for romance, but not really. Bully yes, most definitely did. And the main characters are pretty well explained. Except for the fact the girl's mother is dead, and how is not explained in enough terms. But I will definitely be looking forward to reading more of this series when it comes out. Quinn didn't want the life she had now. Not ever. But with the death of her mother. She finds out that her mother and her sister though family. Haven't talked in a while. So instead of staying where she knows everything. She moves the a city and state bigger than all she knows. Now if only people would leave her alone in peace for his last year of high school... is it really that difficult?
Pariah is a high school bully reverse harem book that is packed full of angst and suspense. There are some moments that will keep the reader turning the pages just to see how the situation plays out due to the intensity. The story as a whole is interesting since pieces of what happened the night she lost her mother come to light and the why she had to move in with her aunt becomes clearer. The intensity of the hate/lust is tangible as the author pulls you in with the characters actions and personalities. Heads up though that this book ends with a cliffhanger that will leave you ready for the next book to come out soon. Looking forward to seeing what happens next. Read to find out how a girl from a trailer park handles the rich students of BCH.
Quinn unexpectedly moves to Silicon Valley, when an aunt she didn’t know about steps in so that she doesn’t have to go into the system❣️Unfortunately, for Quinn she goes from one extreme to the other - poor to SUPER rich. But this change in circumstances isn’t always for the better and comes with a price and a target on her back 🎯
I wasn’t going to read this story initially as I’m not really into the bully romance reverse harem genre, but I have to admit it was a really good story and I’m intrigued to know what happens next😁 I received an advanced copy via Booksprout and I voluntarily leave my honest review ❤️
Quinn has lost everything both her parents are dead her life a mess then her aunt Ceila takes her in. The town of Bridal Creek isn't what she's used to she grew up just worrying about her next meal but her aunt is loaded now it's rich snobs with attitude guys that don't know what personal space is. And then there's Tyson him and his friends love to torment her. And when she's had enough and tries to leave she can't the terror she faced in Miami it may have followed her to California and Bridal Creek.
I was allowed to receive and advance copy of this book via Booksprout and this is my honest review.
This book has a decent premise, but is lacking in plot development and character development. There are inconsistencies in the story and at times it’s like the author forgot where she placed characters or mixed them up with other characters.
The main character spends a lot of time peacocking about how she is street smart and nobody in the privileged world could get one over on her, but in reality she is way out of her depth and there is no evidence that she has any strengths whatsoever. The character hints at having hobbies or strengths, but you never see any of that demonstrated in the book.
I don’t understand her attraction to the love interests, they have almost no interaction with each other and it makes any relationship progression to be completely unrealistic. Even in a bully romance I expect some level of interaction.
The author could have doubled the length of this book to really spend more time on the development of characters and relationships. It read like a rough draft or outline of a story.
I'm not really sure how I feel about this book. There are times when things didn't even make sense or were missing continuity. The guys and Quinn all act very immature despite being seniors. Quinn fixates on them and gets very ragey at times... At least with her I can chalk it up to grief. She doesn't even seem to care they are using her... Superficial level with no real depth. The guys make even less sense in why they are hazing her. Liv at least seems to be decent and accepting of her which is a nice change in bully books for her to find female allies. The girl group of friends seem good too. Hoping she makes them work for redemption and doesn't just forgive them easily. I will read the next one and see if things get better. I'm hopeful. I like the plot of the story and the writing is well done... The characterization just bugs me. Single narrator. Some mild steamy kisses. Classic bully taunting.
🤦🏻♀️ < me regularly because of the FMC who at times was too stupid to live. Seriously, keep your head down girl! Don't go places you have no business going and have some self respect. I have no clue why she's into the guys. Apart from saving her a few times from a mess they caused, they weren't worth knowing.
That being said, it was strangely addictive reading and I liked that there were positive female relationships so I'm going go read book 2.
Also spotted a couple of errors such as missing words or incorrect words used which I know bugs some people
There are a ton of grammatical errors, sometimes to the point where it made the story difficult to read, the characters are very one dimensional, the writing is oddly phrased at times and the use of unrealistic word choices and the over abundance of exclamation points all make for a difficult read. It follows the same basic pattern as all the other bully rh romances. With all that being said, I'm still going on to book 2, so it gets 3 stars.
This book was well written but the story just didn’t hook me in. The majority of the book is just Quinn being bullied by the rich kids at her new school. This isn’t really a reverse harem book. Up until 75% no one had even kissed. There are no steamy scenes. Quinn and Tyson finally kiss then further to the end she has an interaction with Liam & Jonathan but the chemistry just isn’t there. The story was OK but missed the romance part of ‘bully romance’.
Quinn finds herself in an entirely different world when she goes to live with her aunt in Silicon Valley. Start of her senior year and she has to attend a preppy school , where everyone is made aware of her previous circumstances, thanks to her aunt's stepson.
Totally love how strong Quinn is in this book after everything that happened to her and her mum. To then have to deal with Tyson and his mates and all the rest of the school, calling her trailer trash. With so many ups and downs we see Tyson treat Quinn like trash which all comes crashing at a party at their house. To end the book in a shocking and sad way. Can't wait to read the next book
This could be such a good book. But for some reason a girl wanting to sleep with multiple man all at once messed the whole thing up. She's in high school, why would her wanting to be so promiscuous be a good thing??? Ever!! Wish the had a slut warning on these books. Besides that part of the book which was like 80% the rest was good.
Not bad enough to be attacked waring a scar from it. The same night you lose your mom. Having to move across the country even though it’s a bigger house. No one at this elite school thinking your trailer trash thanks to the bully that lives in the house your at. Then I’d course his attitude affects the other snobs so they make your life hell also
The story was ok, nothing to deep could be an easy read. However being from Florida, Miami- Dade County, the references to where she from was basic as heck. Miami Dade is not a single city, the generalization of it annoyed me. Can’t read any more of this looking for a bit more depth.
This was a quick read. I found myself wanting to know more about the characters and what will happen next. I will definitely be checking out the next book when it comes out next month.
I wasn't sure I would enjoy this story at first. but now that I have finished it I wish I would have made sure book two was out already lol. I loved the story, the characters, and all the drama. it made me cry but I can't wait to see how she comes back from it all.
The premise was great and could have been very interesting. The writing, however, felt stilted and the dialogue was very juvenile. Quinn was also pretty flat and didn't have much, if any, conviction or personality. Overall, I was pretty disappointed and will not finish the series.
A new to me author and I will definitely be reading more from her. Loved Quinn she was a strong character you couldn't help but root for. A great bully romance story
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This was a hot steamy erotic romance story perfect for a quick afternoon read. A great heart pounding read. The story was very well written with great characters. It drew me in and I had it finished in one sitting. I would highly recommend this read.
I just loved how the story of Quinn, Tyler and Liv’s begin. When tragedy brings Quinn to her auntie in Silicon Valley her life is turned upside down. The drama flows rhythmically and the shenanigans begin.
