Savage Love

Rate this book
USA Today bestselling author Jane Henry concludes the Savage Island duet with a fast-paced, high-stakes novel of survival, suspense, and heart-breaking passion.

The island took everything from me.
It won’t take her.

They created a monster.
A savage.

They’re about to see exactly what that means.

Because Harper Lake is mine.

Savage Love is the conclusion of The Savage Island duet, and must be read after Savage Dom. Please note, this book contains kinky, sexual scenes, and elements of violence. If such elements offend you, please do not read.

"Our love is a savage love, unbound by typical conventions, forged in the fires of trauma and circumstance. And savage love prevails. It doesn’t quit. It doesn’t give up. It doesn’t cower in the face
of what it faces. Savage love holds on with tenacity and courage and doesn’t let anything destroy it."

We are back on the island with Cy and Harper, and if you read the first book you know what they found out and what's their plan to finally escape.

Untill this happens they spend another few months together there, they fall into routine and are closer that ever. Their love flourishes and they support eachother.

When "help" comes they get split , but this two would do anything to get back together, even the if they have some doubts is all they felt was just an illusion , and being in real world again will erase that away.
I loved how a good team they make, how they can know how the other thinks even if they are apart. The villain behind all this is going down , and they will do anything to make that happen.
This one was not as steamy as the first book, but was hot nonetheless, and the suspense is good enough to keep me entertained. And again I would not categorize Cy as a Dom, he is way gentle and loving and tender to be a proper Dom. He do likes some spanking and dominance but nothing over the top.

I would have loved an epilogue to be honest, and I also noticed some editing problems.
Overall this was an enjoyable duet.

This picks up soon after the end of the first book. Unfortunately, it is constrained but the necessary plot mechanics to rescue our fearless couple and punish the bad guys. There are a few really awkward moments that you have to press through because there's no other way to move the plot - the author really needed a maguffin here.

To make room for the machinations, the relationship is reduced to repeated "I love you" and a few brief sex scenes - not nearly as steamy as the first book (except the bathtub scene!). After all is resolved - and to be fair, that was well done - there is a final scene (yay!), but it lacks passion.

There is one loose end that really should have been resolved, and one real annoyance .

I wish the author took a little more time and a few more pages to make the second book as strong as the first one.

This was a goo following to the the first book. The twists where there, the characters passion for getting payback and the love. It was all there, but I kinda felt like it was really rushed. It jumped from one scene to the next and while it wasn’t bad, it just seemed really rushed.

Overall, I didn’t enjoy this one as much as I did the first book in the duet. I felt like things weren’t wrapped up the way they should have been, and I was left feeling unfulfilled. I will still watch for other books by this author because she has a great imagination but I hope in the future things are more resolved. 3 stars #2OCCJD

PS- I am adding that while this duet is being labeled dark, it was a light dark. A little bit of death, a small scene in the first that could deal with trigger, but honestly not something that I personally would consider dark. It’s more of a thriller romance.

DECEPTIVELY BEAUTIFUL--PARADISE AMIDST DANGER AND HUMAN CORRUPTION

The second half of the Savage Island Duet will continue where Savage Dom leaves off—but it is now several months later. Cy and Harper are keeping a count of the days, and also trying to locate the remaining cameras they were told exist. They have learned to work together; each day has its priorities, clean water, firewood, and gathering food—but they also must keep up morale and work on staying in shape.

“It isn’t utopia, though. We can’t get off this island. We were manipulated into coming. We’re manipulated still. And as the day trudge into weeks and then months, any hope of escaping our beautiful but prison-like island slips away like the sand on the shore, pulled back into the ocean with the undertow.”

Both Cy and Harper are dependent on each other and must keep each other sane, protected, and accept their present fate. They have fallen in love and enjoy the chemistry they share. But what if they were to get rescued? What would happen to them? Will they stay together or go their separate ways?

“What will happen to us when we get out of here? I’m not right for her. We’re opposites in so many ways, and though they say, opposites attract, do they really work in relationships? When we get back, will who she is—who she was—affect our relationship? Will we still continue the way we do here? She isn’t my type. I’m not hers.”

“Promise me this won’t go away,” I say, firmer this time. Louder. “Me. Us. This. No matter what, promise me, Cy.”

“A part of me hopes we don’t find the camera. What we have here on the island, as much as I want to get off it, is almost magical. Our love affair is otherworldly, spellbinding in its intensity.”

Has helped arrived? But why doesn’t it feel right? Something doesn’t make sense, and where is Cy? He was right here with me and they act like they didn’t see him. This is a new nightmare.

“They’re not here to help me. This might look like a luxury cruise ship, but Cy was right. Someone or something is plotting against us, and none of what seems harmless actually is.”

“I learned to face my fears on that island. And it’s my firm conviction that every time we face our fears and overcome them, we grow stronger. More resilient. I strengthened my mind and heart.”

The story isn’t fantasy island—and someone is the puppet master—but Cy and Harper are determined to confront them. Now, how will they find each other, once they have been separated and know who did this to them—to the others?

“For a minute there, you looked just like you did on the island. Ferocious and savage. And I loved that about you. So that’s what it takes, is it? There he is,” she says softly. “That’s my man. All caveman alpha possessive.”

OMG, I don’t want to give anything away, just be prepared for a wild, unexpected ride as nothing is as it should be. The two stories must be read in their written order as this is a saga. The story is danger, life and death, mystery and suspense, unnatural occurrences, and a test of will and endurance. The chemistry between Cy and Harper is like a magnetic force bringing them together. While escaping the island may happen, there are answers that they both need. What happens when they make it back to civilization? Will they discover they need each other—or will they learn they are too different from being together?

“On the island, we lost everything. On the island, we gained everything.”

His👺 Private Agenda🔪💀

BDSM Romance and Mystery Thriller with Violence🔪💀🔫
The Power of 💘Love.
This is a continuation of the first book, Savage Dom, and should be read in order.
In the first book, a crazy billionaire with a vendetta against feminist reporter, Harper💃💋, strands her in an island🌴🌊 with some ex soldiers.
The soldiers fight amongst themselves until only Cy🐺🍆⛲🔪, the most dominant and most Alpha, is left, and he has the girl!

Now that the rest of the soldiers are dead, some by being murdered, others by suicide, there is a lot more food available to Cy🐺🍆⛲🔪 and Harper💃💋. There are still two hidden 📷cameras watching them that they haven't found yet.
There also seems to be no way off the island🌴🌊, and they have been there alone for months, maybe years. It's depressing to be stuck in paradise🌴🌊!

Cy🐺🍆⛲🔪 and Harper💃💋 have been trying to figure out who would have done this to them, and what is the purpose?

ARC Provided by Author Henry📚 via Bookfunnel🌀.
I also got this ebook with KU.

Duh! On a deserted tropical island🌴🌊 in the middle of an Ocean. Salt water🌊. Sea salt. Author says they have no salt to preserve meat. Wrong. Most of the book is pretty accurate about the survival aspects, though.

Now they just have to get rescued! The book seemed a bit too neat and tidy.

As you can see this is book 2 in the duet so if you haven't read Savage Dom you will need to or you will be lost! Now if you read Savage Dom you know that Cy and Harper are stranded on the island but know that they are part of a larger picture. In Savage Love you are going to find out how they were manipulated to be stranded there together. If you think that I am going to tell you then you are wrong, wrong, wrong! I will say that Savage Love is going to answer all of your questions, leave you hot and bothered and keep you turning the page until the end. Like the first book, it is told from dual POV and is not for the faint of heart.

What a spectacular ending to this duet!
The story was so different and unexpected! Cy and Harper meet in book 1 under the most unusual circumstances, opposites in every way, and they survive the craziest scenario and conquer what is put in front of them.

This one hit me with mixed feelings. I couldn’t wait to read it because the suspense from the previous cliffhanger was killing me. Everything went smoothly until a turning point messed up the flow for me. I understand it’s fiction but it was too easy. After all they went through, it was disappointing enough that it affected my rating.

I liked this duet. Honestly these books could have been combined if some of the sex scenes were cut (since they didn't always add to the characterization) and at times the action felt a little superfluous and overdone, but at the heart of this book was entertainment and I was entertained. It was a quick read, interesting concept, with two characters who were smart and hit it off.

I loved this duet. All I wanted to do is sit and smile for a few minutes after I finished Savage Love.
Think Lost meets Survivor, that's what this book reminds me of.
I really enjoyed this. I think you will too.

Book 2 in the Savage Island duet.

Unfortunately this book just didn’t do it for me.
Yes we got some closing, the characters their payback but in my opinion it could have been added to book 1.
I felt like all the scenes were rushed, we jumped to one scene to another, some characters were added but I felt once again I was missing stuff...

I would also say the book is labeled as Dark, but again in my opinion it is ‘light’ dark.

PHENOMENAL ROMANCE and a total MUST-READ!!
SAVAGE LOVE, the highly anticipated conclusion to the SAVAGE ISLAND DUET is absolutely stellar! Delving deeper into the conspiracy of a madman who funded the “experiment’ which forced Cy to forget most of what he knew prior to waking on the island, SAVAGE LOVE takes readers on the convoluted journey he must take once his “rescue” takes place. More importantly to Cy, is who and where is Harper, the woman from the island who captured his heart? For Harper, leaving the island is as confusing as her being left there. Separated from Cy she finds herself in the clutches of the same people and on the same cruise ship which stranded her on that horrible island! She trusts no one and quickly concludes that she must use the courage and self-reliance she learned on the island to find her brother Daniel and Cy – the man from the island who captured her heart. However, the person(s) or forces who stranded them on the island are still holding the power. Will Cy and Harper find each other? Will they be able to stay together, despite their differences, if they do find each other? How is Harper’s brother Daniel? The answer to all of these answers and more can be found in SAVAGE LOVE.
In SAVAGE LOVE, the level of suspense remains high, author Henry’s prose continues to be descriptive, sumptuous, and easy to read, and the conclusion of this story will blow your mind! Again, I read it until I fell asleep, then woke with my glasses on and my Kindle in my lap! Of course, I kept reading and rode the emotional roller-coaster as Harper and Cy did their best to survive the dire straits in which they continued to find themselves. I promise, just like the first part of this duet, SAVAGE LOVE is so full of romantic suspense, it’s difficult - if not impossible - to put down. So, again, as I nearly lost my mind with the suspense the romance kept me grounded. Combined, The Savage Island Books 1 & 2 are so riveting I ignored my Fitbit yelling at me to move . . . but I couldn’t move . . . had ta’ read ONE. MORE. CHAPTER! SAVAGE LOVE is the perfect mix of darkness, romance, suspense, mystery, adventure, and kink. It’s a total testament to author Jane Henry’s writing skills that she has woven those together so wondrously, so magnificently that readers will fly through this easy-to-read novel and return to real life dazed and wondering why so much time has passed? It is a true sign that a book is GREAT when readers consume a story so “quickly” that they lose track of time and everything else. I volunteered to read SAVAGE DOM and SAVAGE LOVE. I also purchased a copy of both novels to put in the FAVORITES collection on my Kindle. My HONEST and VOLUNTARY review is 5+STARS but I so wish I could award more!! SAVAGE LOVE is GREAT reading, and I STRONGLY suggest that you purchase your copy of SAVAGE LOVE today! Happy pages! 😉

Savage Love picks back up where Savage Dom left off so obviously YOU MUST READ IT FIRST! There's no ands ifs or buts about it, especially since it's full of twists & turns which have the twists all turned out, and the turns all twisted into a ball of chaos, leaving me to drop loud f-bombs. Also, I stayed enraged quite a bit, because I'm just too strong as a female to put up with some of the shenanigans of Cy to be honest. That's not to say that he didn't grow on me, because he did after a bit. And while I LOVED Harper, I do wish that she could have put up more of a fight at times, but don't want to describe what I'm talking about, because at the end of the day, she & Cy are perfect for each other, plus I'm probably in the minority. I don't want to make this a long review because this lightly dark read is more of an exciting thriller so the littlest thing could be a spoiler in my opinion. I can say this, Jane Henry knows how to pen super hot sexy times so be prepared for your kindle screen to try to fog up. While I'm not sure how I feel about the ending since I have some questions left (please give us a bonus round book Ms. Henry), I still enjoyed the Duet as a whole since it was so very original in my eyes. Now it's your turn, hit that one click button to see how you feel! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

This second book in the Savage Island Duet is everything I love about Jane Henry’s style! Wonderful characters, hot alphas, & thrilling suspense kept me completely intrigued..Picking up where we left off at the end of Savage Dom, Cy and Harper know they are being watched and are looking for the last couple of cameras. But there are so many questions that come up if they do. Will they be rescued? Who brought them to the island and why? And most importantly, will their relationship survive in the real world? Henry delivers suspense, passion and a twist which blew my mind! Harper is not only smart and beautiful, but is able to think on her feet and navigate her way through situations with courage. Cy is the one you want by your side. He is loyal and protective and never gives up. It’s high intensity and suspense, steamy passion and a story that kept me intrigued til the very end!

The perfect storyteller was cast for this. DC Cole is amazing, bringing each character to life. He emulates each scene so we feel like we are right there, experiencing the island and their relationship. His voice for Cy will have you swooning and his draw into the suspense is exciting. He gave us a fantastic performance.

Savage Love: A Dark Romance Savage Island Duet Book Two
By Jane Henry

While I enjoyed this book I found it a bit rushed compared to the first book. There was still chemistry, desires yet it felt some how mellower less all consuming. There was plenty of suspense, action, twists and revenge. I just wished things were wrapped up better. For instance Harper promised to find Lila and help her yet that never happened. Why they were on the island in the first place was far fetched to say the least. (That he thought he could get away with people dying for some experiment.)What happened to all the scientists who knew what was going on?

Cy and Harper's journey was emotional, captivating, intense at times and I did love how strong she was when she was separated from him. In one part she's thinking:

I will fight for him. For us.
Our love is a savage love, unbound by typical conventions, forged in the fires of trauma and circumstance. And savage love prevails. It doesn’t quit. It doesn’t give up. It doesn’t cower in the face of what it faces. Savage love holds on with tenacity and courage and doesn’t let anything destroy it.

Once again I enjoyed it just not as much as the first book.

Part 2 of 2 - Intriguing concept w romance and mystery - Highly recommend

Contains subject matter that may be a trigger or offensive to some including adult language, detailed intimate scenes and violence.

Please do not read this if you have not read Part 1, otherwise there will be spoilers potentially.

This must be read in order, so it is NOT a stand-alone. It begins where the first part ends, and follows Cy and Harper through their “adventure” as they find their HEA.

This story contains multiple potential triggers, such as kidnapping, consensual and non-consensual acts, fighting, BDSM elements such as bondage, spanking for pleasure / punishment, assault, death, murder, etc. If you are not interested in a story within this genre, then please do not purchase and then rate it lower than it deserves.

I am not going to provide a high level synopsis of how the story begins, as I don’t want to provide any spoilers. I highly recommend this story if you enjoy strong characters and can appreciate that not every romance follows the same formula. I was surprised that I was able to guess quite a bit, but there were still some unexpected scenes.

This book carried the whole mindflip from the first one over into this one. There were a lot of things that I didn't expect to happen, and I was like wooooow.

Harper and Cy are still going through some things. And they aren't necessarily nice things. They do make plans so that they will never get separated if they make it off the island, but you know, things happen, so who knows?

Harper is still very smart and I think that she became a little more confident because of Cy. He was able to impart some of his strength to her and boost her confidence. Not that she wasn't all that un-confident before, but you know what I mean.

I think that Cy learned things from Harper too, ike how to look at things in a different way. They both had very different views on life, which were complementary, but still different.

I do think that they work really well together, and they just about read each other's minds, which can be a good thing or a bad thing. I also think that they are going to go far.

Cy and Harper are stranded together on a beautiful, uninhabited, desolate island with white sand, surrounded by the turquoise-green waters of the ocean. But, why are they on this island? Is this some type of a test? Who could have concocted such a plan? Will they be able to survive? Will their love continue to blossom and thrive?

This story is filled with survival techniques, adventure, personal growth, compromise and love. Is there anything they can do to escape? What will happen to their love and their lives if they do leave the island? Will they feel the same way in the real world that they felt on the island, or will their love disappear? What devious motivation instigated this whole conundrum? Will trust overcome manipulation? Read this story to discover the outcome.

I’ve just finished the second book in Jane Henry’s Savage Island series, and I can’t even find the words to impart just how amazing this series is. I loved the first book, Savage Dom, where we meet our much on purpose marooned couple Cy and Harper, but this book? It’s just the explosive end!

More than 5 stars please? We pick up with our couple finding out that something is not quite right upon the island that they are stranded on, that someone or something may be manipulating their every move. But if I tell you any more, I’ll be robbing you of the experience of the twisting and turning plot line that our deliciously kinky couple go through.

Suffice it to say, if you don’t like your men dominant, and just a wee bit bossy, then this may not be for you. I sure loved it, but I enjoy this type of genre. Make sure to fully read the book blurb!

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "SAVAGE LOVE" This is book 2 in this exciting unique duet storyline with so much mystery, intrigue, secrets, suspense, twists a definite page turner,
Cy and Harper are still trying to get off this mysterious island trying to find existing cameras that someone placed to watch them, their survival of everything thrown at them.
Cy and Harper get to learn more about their true feeling on dominance and submission and accept it in doing so he makes her stronger and builds her confidence, I like how they work together even though different they compliment one another.
This one duet you don't want to miss such a unique creative story that pulls you right in and keeps you guessing to the end. PHENOMINAL DUET!!!

Cy and Harper are now alone on the island and must still survive daily. There are so many mysteries yet to solve, like where are the remaining cameras? Why does food appear and disappear as if it was a mirage? Why are Cy and Harper here to begin with? The mystery turns again when the cruise ship suddenly appears again and Cy and Harper decide to risk getting on it. Oh my, such adventure and danger still to be had by our lovers. I don't dare try to say more, I may have already said too much. Just know that our island lovers still have some answers to get and there are great risks involved before everything is revealed. In the end we do get our HEA and it was well earned. Thank you Jane Henry for wrapping this complicated story up in such a pretty, tidy little bow.

We’re back on the island with Cy & Harper for the continuation/conclusion of their story. Things between the two are more deep, more intense now. They are a complete duo, working together as if they were meant for each other. And let me tell you, that only becomes more intense and even deeper as you get into this book, but I don’t want to tell you what happens or how. I’m big on not telling you the whole story in my review, and here is one of those times where I feel the less I give away the better it is for you. Suffice it to say, I love these two! Their strength & resilience, their love and need for each other, and their fierceness and protectiveness. And things are still very hot and steamy 🔥🔥🔥. Loved this duet!! It’s a must read!!!

Let me start off by saying that I loved this duet! So much goes on in this book that your head will spin! The mystery and intrigue behind why Cy and Harper are on this island made me read this in one sitting. When Cy and Harper finally get off the island, they are elated, but is it really over? Too many things come to light and they don’t trust anyone. When they are separated, Cy will do anything to find Harper as he knows she is his one true love. The love between them is heart melting! As you read, you find out so many reasons as to why they came to be, and your mind will be blown! I don’t want to say anymore to spoil it for anyone, but trust me when I say you need to read this duet! Truly magnificent!

This is book 2 in the Savage Island duet & it picks up right from where book 1 ended, so don't even think about reading this without having already finished book1. Cy & Harper make it off the island, but not together. With each of them feeling the reality of the bond that they have, they each work to return to the other. Make no mistake, this was a thrilling conclusion. However, I feel that it missed a few perfect opportunities that left me feeling a bit let down. I would have liked to know more of the motivation behind the big WHY? The book very quickly touched on the impact that paparazzi/social media/crowd mentality have on people who are determined by be 'newsworthy' which seemed to overly simplify the reality.

This conclusion was a whopper. So many twists and unexpected secrets coming to light. My favorite part of it was the hidden message that I got from it. As we sit in the middle of a global pandemic where self-isolation and quarantine are common everyday words now, it struck me that while this all feels overwhelming, it could be so much worse. I know I'm appreciative of the simple things now like hugs and social gatherings. This book made me look at hot showers different or electricity, and the internet. Even in isolation we still have some luxuries and that us a blessing.

Well done to the author for doing outside the box. I've always been a sucker for stranded island romance but this was way more interesting than most.

Wow! What a ride!

This series was very different from many of Janes's books but it doesn't surprise me because she can write anything amazingly well. This book gives us all the answers to the secrets of the Island and it's dark. It reads very quickly and didn't leave me hanging. Its a detailed answer but not so detailed I want to just get through it. After that part is revealed she leads us into the final part of the book and series. It flows so nicely. Everything comes together and it's an ending that makes the reader feel a warmth for this couple. At least I felt that way. Her books are always amazing and this is no exception. I'm really glad I read this and will always be a fan of her books!

This was a fantastic conclusion to the Savage Island duet. I enjoyed this book even more than the first one. The author really explores all of the feelings and emotions brought on by the island and it's interesting to see the characters sort through what is real and what was due to their circumstances. Both Cy and Harper truly find out more about each other and themselves. They are able to explore their true feelings about dominance and submission and accept that both are a gift. This is one of those books that it's hard to review without spoilers, but it was definitely a great story. Read it, you won't be disappointed.

Jane Henry’s Savage Love is the stunning conclusion to the Savage duet and it progresses much faster than the first book and much happens as all the pieces finally fall into place—why they were there, the purpose, who took them, etc. And what’s worse, Harper and Cy must come to terms with whether their love is real or is it as manufactured as the island. Once again, I loved the suspense. While it wasn’t as much of an edge of your seat as Savage Dom, it was still a compelling read and I was eager to push through to the end. For me, the Duet of stories was quite satisfying to read and I enjoyed both stories equally.

Loved it...

When I read Savage Island Book 1...I thought what on earth am I reading...lol...it was so out there that I said to myself..are you sure this a Jane Henry book?...then when I remembered all her other books that are so different from each other, I thought of course it was. What a story..love found through extreme conditions...thank the Lord we didn't have to wait for too long for the conclusion. I found the story and main characters utterly fascinating...a must read...
