I have no desire to read this book right now. It's a lot more dry than I thought, should have guessed what with the pixelated cover. Full of soft sciences and lots of boring psychological rants fashioned in the form of your written conclusions in 8th science class.
I may just just skim ahead, find that good hard science, the physiology of the drug. Though that might be a scarce study, the amount of observation limited by the illicit label of the drug itself...
...which is a political gestation of the book from time to time.
The mental antagonism of this book is alas alleviated by the pictures of San Fransisco "scientists" (psychologists and other soft science riff raff) in their thick groomed beards and tweed blazers WITH leather elbow patches. I've lost myself...
I thought the book was fascinating from the beginning to the end. It does require previous understanding of chemistry. Worth the read the only aspect I felt was lacking was the biochemistry of the brain with relations to ecstasy.
