Anyone who knows me for any length of time knows I'm not into traditional mainstream sports--baseball, basketball, football, soccer, hockey, etc--but I loved the Belltown Six Pack series and I'm really into this new series about the Northbrook Hockey Elite. Why? Because they're written by fantastic authors who know how to write characters readers will care about, the dialogue is witty and fun, and the kisses swoony but clean.

Rocco (the Rock) De Luca's family is close. So close they moved from Chicago to Wyoming when Rocco is picked up by the Steers hockey team. Summer Davis is a hometown girl, and is the head librarian at the town's library while also working on her PhD. Her family's superclose too and they're big hockey fans--especially her dad.

Rocco and Summer have the best meet-cute when it's Rocco's turn to do the half time promo and the seat number selected is Summers!! She beats him and scores winning herself a brand new Jeep, and the interest of Rocco. This was just about my favorite scene in the book. Rocco was smitten at first glance.

I loved Summer and Rocco and rooted for them to get over the obstacles that might keep them apart--like her possible internship in another country, and their dads being a little too involved in their lives (especially Rocco's dad). I loved that we got more of the other guys in the Northbrook Hockey Elite (I can't wait for Zane's story), and cameos of the Belltown Six Pack and their wives/girlfriends.

Even if you're not into sports I think you'll love this series, because it's about the people, not just the sport they play. I can't wait to read the rest of the series--it's so hard to pick a favorite, they're all so good.

I received a complimentary ebook copy from the author. All thoughts and opinions expressed in this review are my own.

#NorthbrookHockeyElite is the best!

I was a tiny bit devastated when the Belltown Six Pack came to an end, but I've found solace in the pages of the Northbrook Hockey series and I'm just as in love with this group as I was with the last.

This story takes on Rocco (the Rock) De Luca and his pursuit to finding true love. I loved the setting of Aspen, Wyoming and since I've been there, I could picture it. It made me smile to think of an Italian restaurant family all moving there because one of their own is playing hockey there. A spark of interest, a match on the ice, and a mind-boggling win was all it took for Rocco to lose his heart to Summer, a small town librarian with a penchant for ice skating.

I love getting to know each member of this group. They're all likable and talented in their own ways and each come from different backgrounds with stories to tell. I love watching these rough and tough guys fall in love and this story was no exception. From meddling and opinionated large families to drama with exes to the normal ups and downs of a fledgling relationship, Rocco and Summer won me over and had me cheering them on louder than a super hockey fan club president.

Content: mild romance; very mild violence (hockey related)

As much as I love this series and the sports romances this trio of authors writes, this one sadly fell flat for me. I liked Summer and Rocco, but the relationship didn't have any depth and seemed to move forward on attraction only before they really got to know each other or spent much time together. They had good chemistry, but I didn't feel an emotional connection to them. There also wasn't much of a plot- each time a conflict arose it was diffused in an anti-climactic way. The supporting cast had so much potential with the brothers, the parents, and the Wyoming teammates, but I felt like it was kept surface-level and they were way under-utilized. There was quite a bit of name dropping from the previous books in this series and then also the Belltown Sixpack series, but with no substance to the encounters. I would have rather there been more of a focus and development on a few characters that are close to Rocco and Summer instead of spreading it thin explaining so many connections that aren't really vital to the story. Overall, Summer and Rocco are totally sweet together, but the only memorable thing about them is the way they met (which was a great scene). I'm still looking forward to what comes next for this band of hockey brothers!

Romance, clean; Series, but stand alone read
Fun addition to this hockey series! While a part of the series, still can be read as a stand alone read. Rocco and Summer's story had great characters, fun setting, and oh so sweet romance. Summer's genuineness, her skating, her intelligence, and her obvious sweet fan qualities, spirit of fun and adventure, all made for a perfect match for Rocco. Loved the tension and intensity of the games, especially between the Northbrook alum pro players, and of course the family elements, complications and drama! The setting in Wyoming and the game travel, the Northbrook hockey fundraising element, all of it made for a fun, romantic escape read with some intense fun games along with the friendship and romance. I love how each book include one part of the game (the rebound for this one). Perfect quick, fun romantic read!
I received an ARC from the author in exchange for a fair and honest review, my opinions are my own.

Hmmm. I'm not too sure how I should review this book. I liked Summer and Rocco. They were cute together. But I didn't love them. The connection to the characters that I love feeling wasn't quite there. There were times the story felt a bit disjointed and frazzled. The story had potential but was missing the depth. I'm loving this series and really wanted to love this one, but it fell short for me.

Rocco is my favorite (in the series) so far! And I like that he and Summer have things in common, like their large families and Summer loving the smell of the ice.

Calling all you fans of clean sports romances...you have to read this series. And the Bell Town Six Pack series as well.

I'm a hockey fan. I haven't watched it for a while, so maybe a better way to put it would be that growing up I loved watching hockey. My dad would take me to the games of the professional hockey team close by where I grew up. They're loud and intense and fun! I had friends in high school who played on our school team. It was the best to go watch the games. That friend and I had math class together and our teacher was so much fun. One of my memories of this friend was sitting in that math class and our math teacher cracking jokes about hockey. We giggled and laughed so hard. It was the best. Ahhh good times, good times! That might be one reason why I'm really enjoying this series is because of the memories that I have associated with hockey.

But, aside from the memories, these three authors are just plain fun and know how to write great stories with intriguing characters. And those scenes on the ice...wowsers. Watch out! They can get pretty intense and I feel like I'm right there skating along with the players.

Rocco moves to Wyoming to play for the team there. And his whole family up and moves with him to support him. His mom was fun and a handful. His brother too.

I think one of my favorite scenes was during a game and Rocco hits the ice before the game starts and as he's skating around the rink to warm up, his eyes connect with Summer's. And bam! That's it. He's very intrigued. Then it gets even better...he's the player up for the half time promotion. And which spectator's seat number is called to play off against him for a goal? You guessed it! Summer's! Bam! It was awesome. And that whole scene, definitely one of my favorites. I loved the family scenes as well, the scenes with his Northbrook Hockey friends and their girlfriends/spouses. So much fun.

Lots of action and plenty of sweet friendship and clean romance. There are a couple moments of insecurities and struggles but I loved how these two worked through them. Well written and a definite re-read for me at some point!

I received a copy from the publisher. All thoughts and opinions in the review are my own.

Happy Reading!!!

I am LOVING these hockey romances. I loved so many things about this one, the characters, the plot and the setting were just amazing. I didn’t want to put it down!

This one features Rocco and Summer. It’s always fun that the reader knows a bit about the characters from some of the other books. I’ve been looking forward to reading Rocco’s book! I loved the way family was a huge deal to him. His family even followed him from New York to Wyoming. But one thing that was a bit hard in this one was his family. His dad, especially was kind of pushy, and not in a good way.

I loved Summer! From the time she won a car beating Rocco on the ice to the very last paragraph. She’s my favorite in this book. I loved the way she goes out of her way to be with Rocco. Even when she isn’t sure if they’re even right for each other.

Summer’s and Rocco’s families are so great! I think it’d be really fun to see some of them show up in a spin off somewhere. They were both individual and just great people.

I can’t wait for more of this series! It’s my current favorite!

You really can't go wrong with these authors or their sports stories. Fast paced, clean, and well-written, I love how the teams are like families — and all the feels that come with that! I also love that each book can be read as a standalone, but still weave together.

I was given a free copy, and this is an honest review.

This is the third book in the Northbrook Hockey series by Authors Sophia Summers, Rebecca Connolly and Heather B. Moore. I love all of the books I have ready by these ladies and I have not been at all disappointed with this series. If you’ve read any of my previous reviews from this series you’ll know I’m not a huge Sports Fan but I’ve never enjoyed reading about Hockey more before in my life. I really enjoyed this particular story because the two main characters actually meet because of living in the same smallish town. I like that Rocco isn’t all about the spotlight and that he has that he doesn’t have all the smooth moves when it comes to communicating his interest. He’s straight up and honest about his interest. He owns his mistakes and strives to be all that he can be in order to get the girl. Honestly, I also liked that he cared so much for her that it was quite evident in how he played. He is swoon-worthy ladies. Be warned. I also loved Summer! Feisty and smart. Driven in that she’s not afraid to go after what she wants but still considers the needs of those around her. She is not a doormat by any means but still has that slightly uncertain, insecure side to her when it comes to starting a relationship. I liked how she worked through it though and didn’t allow it to needlessly and adversely effect her growing relationship with Rocco.
Overall a clean, happy and swoon-worthy story. I received an ARC copy of this book but this in no way influenced my review. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the series and I am sure, whether or not you’re a sports fan - you’ll enjoy it to!

Do you love hockey? Or, are you like me and know next to nothing about hockey? Luckily, either way you probably love this book. It's not the hockey that makes me love this book but the romance and the awesome relationships between this group of friends that all started with hockey. That is really the kind of stuff that I love to settle in with. Love and friendship. It makes my heart happy all the way around.

I think Rocco and Summer are both fun characters. They are well matched and their first meet was something else! I liked the natural progression of their relationship and the fun they had together.

This series is one of my favorites. I'm all in and anticipating the next book!

Ok, I'm a book title nerd. I absolutely love when a title has a few different meanings and several appearances in the book. Does Rebound mean they're both on the rebound? Boo. Could it? Maybe. Is that necessarily a bad thing? Nope. My husband of 24 years was called a rebound initially, haha.
I really enjoy the Swoony Sports trio of authors. They mix humor, romance, chemistry, and interpersonal interactions in such a way that every book is a fun new read. There isn't a typical predictability you find in some romance series where you know about what page (or what percentage through a Kindle book) things will happen.
So, we've read the Belltown Six series and fell in love with baseball. Now, we're learning about hockey, the players, team interactions, and some names for some plays that may or may not have something to do with the title of the book being reviewed here (yes, I did get to the point, haha).
I love how these three authors all write with their own styles yet the series still meshes, the stories still blend, the compatibility is still there, and while each book can definitely be a stand alone, it's so much more enjoyable to read together.
Clean romance, fantastic family involvement (including extended family) and something you don't want to miss especially if you read the first two but even if you didn't.

I received a copy from the publisher and chose to add my review.

This story is a hot mess. So much potential, but marred by poor editing and plot structure. It suffers from poorly developed characters, plot holes, and formulaic structure. If I didn't like the overall series, I would have quit because I was increasingly frustrated with the characters' behavior.

Rocco treats Summer like some talisman and she swings like a pendulum with her attitude to him and does things that would otherwise sabotage any relationship. Their behavior came across many times as very immature and there's also a lack of true relationship development between them. And, the final conclusion was completely unbelievable.

I also found the supporting characters inconsistent and thrown around to fill in another formulaic plot structure. They appeared and disappeared at random. And, the presence of the Belltown baseball players felt forced and out of place.

Are there good elements of the story? Absolutely! There are some scenes that are truly romantic and funny, but that does not negate the fact that I'm disappointed with the story. I love this series, but I cannot give this story a good rating.

Romance - Steamy PG - lots of kissing and thoughts related to the physical
Language - PG
My rating - 2 stars.

Rocco De Luca loves his family, playing hockey, and his friends. When he meets Summer Davis and her family, he falls faster than he does when an opposing defenseman trips him on the ice.

The third installment of the Northbrook Hockey Elite series, Rebound has some fun moments—from Summer and Rocco’s first introduction to their large families and all those encompass. There is also some great hockey action, and I loved that the Northbrook guys are all together again for a few chapters in this book.

As a hockey fan, I appreciated the attention to the details of the game. As a reader, I enjoyed the sizzle between Summer and Rocco. If you’re a fan of clean sports romances, be sure and grab this series.

Rocco's family has moved to Wyoming to be near him as he plays for the Wyoming Steers. Summer Davis' family is crazy about hockey. Summer gets a chance to win a jeep with an on-ice challenge. She has skills on ice that turn out to be a real asset to win that jeep. Rocco then becomes acquainted with Summer and her family. The two families aren't at all alike, but they meet and get along well.

Summer not only runs the local library, she is about to accept a fellowship to complete her PhD. But when Summer and Rocco become involved, both fathers interfere. And Summer gets a fellowship that she really wants, but it's for a year in Prague. Are they an item? Can they make a long distance relationship work?

A good read, a clean love story and it involves hockey, which I enjoy. I enjoyed the book and would recommend it.

Drama, emotion, family, and love

Wow! What a couple of crazy families and meddling fathers. Thank goodness for mothers. I love Rocco and his desire and willingness to do what he needs to do. I love that he is so emotional and found a way to channel his emotions and reach his goals. Summer is the best. What a happy surprise when she scores against Rocco. She knows what she wants out of life, but is willing and able to change tracks when necessary to meet her goals. This story has lots of drama, emotion, family, and love!

Rocco De Luca and Summer Davis meet when she shows him up in a promo event during his pro-hockey game. This was an adorable meet-cute! I loved Rocco and Summer together. Their families were each big, and over the top. I enjoyed their antics, and watching the dynamics between two such strong forces.

The romances in this series are sweet, the hockey is delightful (not enough to lose me completely, but detailed enough to feel like the authors know what they're talking about). I love the friendships the guys formed at Northbrook Hockey and their group chat, "The Pit." I love the way these guys heckle and support each other in turns. Its makes me happy to see the characters I've already met and excited about the ones I'll get to know better.

This was another good addition to the series, and I'll be waiting impatiently for the next book.

Content: clean (some kissing, no language, hockey violence ;)

I liked getting to read another Northbrook book, but this wasn't my favorite in the series. I liked the characters and the romance, but this one just didn't flow as well as the previous books. There were things that didn't seem consistent, like Rocco saying his family didn't care about him dating an Italian but his father did care, and things that weren't explained, like Rocco saying Trane dropped a bombshell announcement but giving no hint as to what that was so. It's still a fun story but I didn't enjoy it as much as the others.

Just when I think the stories can’t get any better, they do. I love Rocco, Summer, The Pit, the Davis family (could this be the source of another series?), the De Luca family and the Belltown Six Pack. As a native Texan I haven’t had a lot of opportunities to watch hockey but I have enjoyed the games I’ve made. I love the camaraderie of the teams and especially the Pit and Belltown Six Pack. If you haven’t read either of these series you can still enjoy this book but I do highly recommend both the Northwood Hockey Elite and Belltown Six Pack Swoony Sports series.

I loved this story. A great next book in this series. I loved the story of Rocco and Summer. They have great families and there is lots of love there. I don't know much about hockey but I do know that I loved this hockey romance! Rocco is a pro hockey player who meets Summer at a home game. She is given the opportunity to win a new Jeep if she can score against one of the home town players. They face off in hockey and soon start a new relationship. Problems with exes, fathers and career choices threaten to block their HEA. But they preservere and the story is wrapped up and all obstacles defeated. 5 stars!

Loved the Pit crew! (with a parental caveat however)

This is part of a series, but it's the 1st one I've read, so I can vouch that it works just fine as a standalone. The Pit guys are all here & obviously have, or will have, their own books, but there are also some instances where there are characters crossing over from another series on baseball.

I really enjoyed the big family love of the DeLuca & Davis clans & hope to see more books about them. I also loved the Northbrook players' brotherhood level comraderie, and look forward to reading more of them.

Rocco & Summer have a sweet YA flavored relationship development romance that was very enjoyable. There are a few things that kept it from being 5 stars. I'm not crazy about communication conflicts, but I appreciated that this book didn't artificially prolong them.

However, I couldn't understand why Rocco didn't tell Millie no (if not his dad)? It didn't make sense that he went over there to air things out but then didn't. Nor did it make sense that he was catering to her whims, albeit reluctantly.

He at least acknowledged & apologized for his other communication mistakes. And the rest of the story flows more smoothly.

Summer has to choose between a new opportunity and the guy she's falling in love with. Her ambivalence is depicted quite believably. It's not a dismissal or rejection of love to consider how a missed opportunity may impact your life over the years.

The ending, though perhaps a little pat, is also believable & I particularly enjoyed the conclusion!

*Clean romance level: passionate kisses, nothing graphic
*Religion (Parental caveat - there is one point from the story that you may want to discuss with your teen if they read this): Rocco's father wants him to marry a woman of the family's faith. Despite the stereotypes, that's actually an extremely valid concern. Mixed marriages essentially force the kids to choose one parent's faith over the other - not surprisingly, research shows that the most common result is a refusal to choose either, & they tend to become agnostics instead. It also obliquely communicates that your human love was more important than your faith because you were willing to compromise & ignore the Scriptural warning against being "unequally yoked" which again undermines your efforts as you attempt to teach your beliefs to your child(ren).

We have a Hat Trick 🎩 in this series!

A hat trick is a big deal in hockey and so far this series has slapped 3 goals in.

This is Rocco DeLuca’s story with Summer Davis taking up a lot space in his head and in heart. The attraction is instant. Bonus, she loves hockey, she can play it well, her family is as crazy as his and his mom loves her. Summer is a librarian and a PhD candidate and loves her big family, but could do without the stifling need for them to be up in her business. She loves the Pit (his Northbrook Hockey Elite family), she loves his mom and she is falling for Rocco fast.

But life is difficult with Rocco on the road all the time and he comes with the paparazzi trying to find out more about the relationship. Even harder? Both their families have a lot to say about the relationship. And it’s not appreciated by either of them.

I really enjoyed this book. Rocco is intense and Summer perfectly balances him out. The Pit comes together to continue fundraising for their hockey club. It’s an emotional reunion and very touching.

Can’t wait for the next book!

I love this series! This book was hard for me to jive with compared to the others. I couldn't seem to connect with Rocco, but had been really excited to read his story. By the end, I was feeling it. I love how the characters are so variable from book to book. When I said I couldn't seem to connect to Rocco, that's actually awesome now that I'm done with the book because I feel like I got to know someone different. I'm more of a girl like Summer, so reading this book was fun because it's so 'out there' of an idea to date a pro hockey player 😂I'm a fan of playing sports, not really watching them (don't have much experience), and these books give me a great insider's look. The romance is just right.

Okay friends. I might be convinced that hockey romance books are as cool as everybody thinks they are.

I have been loving the Northbrook Hockey Elite series, and Rebound was no exception. It is so good!! I'm pretty sure this book has everything you could want in a book - a librarian, a pro hockey player, small town vibes, meddling families (but let's face it, Summer's brothers are the best 😂), skating on a frozen pond 😍, hockey games, an ex-girlfriend that deserves a good swift kick to the shins for showing up at the most inconvenient of times, the sweetest romance....what more could you want here??

Rocco and Summer really are the cutest couple. They are two of those people you can't help but love. I was cheering for them from the start and was so excited when things finally worked out for them.

If this book isn't on your TBR lists already, it needs to be! I have spoken.
