When a silver fox veteran returns to his small town, he sets out to prove to one prickly farm owner, she has what he wants most: a second chance at her land and her heart.

Beverly Townsen has pulled back from her mountain valley community, preferring the isolation of her farmhouse and her daily routine of viewing home improvement television programs. It's more than her frail body that prevents her from associating with others, but a fragile heart shattered more than once. When a personal renovation becomes mandatory, she's not so excited about the reality of life versus DIY cable shows. However, her new tenant isn't backing down from this extreme makeover.

Jedd Flemming understands physical pain and personal loss, but it's never stopped him from bucking forward in life. A former military man and rodeo star, his life as a nomad comes to an end with false accusations and a family matter in his hometown. His absence has been long, but once returned, there's nothing he wants more than to reclaim what he's lost and maybe stake a claim on the elusive buzzing-bee female who holds a sliver of his heart.

When faced with a challenge, sometimes deeds are louder than words, and Jedd's out to prove love is worth another go around the pasture for these forty-somethings.

Favorite Quotes:

This is the hashtag-me-too era, buddy… You can’t just reach out and touch someone.

I’d believed all kinds of things about Howard. He’d love me forever. He’d make it good for me. He’d take care of us. An iron skillet of reality upside the head had finally made me see the light and realize Howard’s true nature. He loved women—all kinds of women—just not the one labeled his wife.

I called her Bee as I was leaving because the name is fitting. Her tongue stings like the pesky pollinator.

The glare I give my daughter could melt a candle without a wick.

I think it’s about to get as ugly as starved cannibals finding prey…

“Men are all hot air.” “Howard was hot air,” Jedd retorts. “I’m just hot.” Shaking my head, I can’t help the smile growing on my lips. He’s ridiculous but not wrong.

Her laugh is a lyric calling to me like a siren to a sailor.

My Review:

More Smartypants Green Valley? Why yes, thank you - bring it on! I always cross my fingers with anticipation yet approach with trepidation when I read this author as while I have enjoyed most of her books, heavy angst is just not my jam and her writing tends to be chockablock full of interpersonal conflicts and inner turmoil. And while this book was no exception to that standard, it wasn’t as arduous to endure as the storylines and issues were highly relevant and the writing was engaging with well-crafted and enticing storylines laced with clever spikes of humor and a slow-burning attraction that occasional sizzled and seemed destined to spark into an inferno.

Although, I will confess that for the first half of the book I had an ongoing and valiant struggle with the bitter and waspish character of Beverly as I found her rather horrid. Beverly had been dealt a bad hand and had become ill-tempered, snappish, and was wallowing in self-pity yet made no effort for improvement and was too prickly and proud to accept assistance. She was blatantly rude, leeching off her daughter, and just patently unpleasant. Beverly annoyed me greatly and was the type of person most people, me included; go out of their way to avoid. While he also had hidden motives, the character of Jedd was a saint in comparison. Yet despite all that, I was reluctant to put my Kindle down, I seem to be terminally bewitched by all things Green Valley.

In a time that I'm in a terrible reading slump and barely reading, Love in Deed was the perfect distraction I needed. This book has so many layers. And instead of a second chance romance, this is a book about second chances in general, where it is never too late to learn to love and forgive yourself.

When I read snippets of Beverly in Love in Due Time I thought she was so bitter. I didn't know how a book where she is the protagonist could possibly work. But L. B Dunbar does a brilliant job of letting us see Beverly thawing before our own eyes.

Her journey isn't an easy one, but with the help of her daughter, her sister Naomi and the swoony Jedd Flemming, she can learn so much about herself and overcome the restraints that she created for her life.

I don't want to say too much and spoil anything, but this was just a very emotional and enjoyable read that I definitely recommend.

This was an ARC kindly provided in exchange for an honest review.

Sometimes it takes an outsider to force us to see who we are. The real struggle is accepting what we learn. For Beverly Townsen, nothing could be closer to the truth. Virtually a shut-in, Beverly has pulled back from Green Valley’s community, preferring the isolation of her farmhouse and her daily routine of viewing home improvement television shows. When the opportunity arises for her own home improvement and a personal re-assessment, she’s not so excited about the reality of real life versus DIY programs.

Jedd Flemming understands physical pain and personal loss, but it’s never stopped him from bucking forward in life. A former military man and rodeo star, his life as a nomad comes to an end with false accusations and a family matter back in the Valley. It’s been a long journey to find his way home and once there, there’s nothing he wants more than to reclaim what he’s lost…and maybe the elusive female reclusive who holds a sliver of his past.

With an unprecedented proposition, Beverly finds a stranger living in her barn, raising horses on borrowed pastures, and plowing his way into her vacant heart. Old hurts linger, but sometimes love in deed is louder than words.

‘Love in Deed’ is a full-length contemporary romance, can be read as a standalone, and is book #6 in the Green Valley Library series, Green Valley World, Penny Reid Book Universe.

This series is one of the few that keeps getting better by the book. Dunbar uncaps her mighty pen and writes a book that hits bullseye straight on readers hearts. Sensitively handling a touchy subject, she has created characters that you sympathize with and then fall in love with ultimately.
We met Beverly as Naomi Winter's immobile sister in Love in Due Time. She's dejected, broken, scarred and abandoned and stuck in the rut of Shattered life. Her stick is firmly in the mud.
"If a person screams with no one around to hear it, is there really a sound?"
She's silent cause there's no one to hear her anymore.
A Left Behind woman. Her husband not only ruined her life, he ruined her for everybody else, crushing her trusting heart under his feet before leaving. Now she's tied in her rocking chair, left to see the world from behind the curtains.
"I am not happy. I have not been happy for years. But it runs deeper than admitting my failing emotion. I didn’t know how to be happy."

description

Her land is soon tresspassed and then borrowed by Bronco Rodeo Star Jedd Flemming. He gets her, is akin to her pain and empathetic to her ability. Talk about birds of a broken feather...
The story floats on a cloud of hope, even if the mood sometimes drags you down and the dejected hearts fumbling on the loop of a stuck record of self doubt and beaten psyche. Dunbar pops Love right in the midst like an entity. It holds both their hands and brings them together.

description

"She’s been a chrysalis waiting out a too-long winter season to morph into a beautiful butterfly."
Beautiful is inadequate to describe this emotionally agitated story. There's rage and frustration billowing like a cloud saturated with guilt and anger. There's acceptance of fate and resignation to a point of disability. Status quo seems to have become a milestone of life, No movement, no growth, no life.

description

Fields lay fallow, plants die and Bee just gets bitter and stingy.
“You’re full of sting, Bev-er-lee, but you don’t fool me. Your tongue is sharp, but it’s only words. Nothing long-lasting. Sticks and stones and stuff.”
Jedd draws honey from her and it's bee becomes functional Pollinator.

description

Awesomely inspiring story with a clear message to never accept stagnancy, but get up and change the course towards progress and productivity.
"Bloom where you're planted"
Salute to Dunbar for making silver foxes a sought after trope in romance. Love doesn't have a sell by date, maturity brings sensible romance so pick up this wonderful book, the entire series and come live in Green Valley.

I cannot remember the last time I finished a book and thought “I can’t wait to re-read this, actually, I want to read it again right now!” And that’s pretty much the best way to sum up ”Love In Deed”. I could not set it down and I cannot wait to read it again.

This story was everything. It was flawless.

I feel like I’m going to fail to effectively review it, I could never cover all the things that made this story so touching, but I will try.
Beverly Townsen has lived a hard life. A verbally abusive husband who leaves her and her young daughter and an accident have left her damaged and scarred in more than one way. She’s a shut in living on a large dying farm and relying on her daughter to care for her.

Jedd Flemming is a former military and rodeo man. He has a prosthetic arm and a big stinking heart and his heart clings to the grumpy Beverly. He brings out the best in her in every way. He is everything a big, hulking hero should be. I just swooned and swooned again. His belief in her was absolutely epic. He initially seeks to rent land from her to raise horses and the rest as they say, is history.

There is an element of intrigue trickling through the story, along with steamy sweetness, encouragement, and a healthy dose of just what it means to trust in and believe in other people. Sisterly love and family obligation. The reminder that words leave their marks, both the positive and the negative. This is a multifaceted smart romance in the true sense of the word. I know I will read this one again and again.

4.5 Stars!

I have been dying for this book since being introduced to Beverly and Jedd in Love in Due Time. This book was everything. I loved that it featured an older grouchy heroine and learning about her background. She was destroyed when her husband left her and felt completely worthless which slowly turned her into a hostile shut in. Jedd shows up wanting to use her land to farm horses and turns her world upside down. I love the way he never shied away from her and was always able to see what was lying under the surface. It did take me some time to warm up to Beverly but it was all worth it in the end. L.B. Dunbar is a superb writer and fans will not be disappointed. It was great to catch up with Naomi as well. Love in Deed was not as light as some of the other novels in the Smartypants series and you felt the characters truly earned their happily ever after. This was a true love burn but the growth was inspiring and I was never bored or reading ahead. I can’t wait to read L.B Dunbar’s next book.

I could barely get started on this one before I put it away for good. The main character’s self pitying mindset just rubbed me the wrong way. I can definitely see having to take a couple of years to get yourself together after a bad marriage and your own self destructive behaviour destroys your life but to hang on to if for close to 20 years was too much. Not for me.

this is a book about Hannah Townsen's mother and all readers of Winston's brothers are familiar with her character.. ( I like her btw in that series and here and I am excited about her story)
but this book oh boy..
I would definitely dnf if not being a book for a challenge and it was on audio...
the heroine is in 20 years long bitter poor me attitude.. I can sympathize with her but eventually, enough is enough.. her behavior is appalling and I don't know if I should care more because of her situation but her nasty behavior is such a turn-off..especially towards her daughter..
Another aspect that I didn't care for is the instant romance between Beverly and Jedd..I just don't get it..he sees this angry, rude unkept woman and he is all like yup I want you.. come on give me a break!! this was a long-ass book and for a larger part we spend time in her self-pity attitude..she is definitely written as much older than a woman in her 40's ...

One word to describe this book: Flawless. LB Dunbar somehow manages to write about real characters that are perfectly imperfect and sexy as hell! This is the book you will go to and read over and over again. There were several moments in the book when I felt butterflies in my stomach over the words and emotions coming off the page. I’m already a fan of this author, and this is my favorite book she’s written to date! I would give it 10 stars if i could.

This would have been a DNF if not for being a smartypants romance book and part of the library series. I really wanted to like this book but Beverly just made me so pissed off- I stopped reading many times. She was so bitter and nasty, I can't image just giving up and letting your kid do everything especially since I'm at the same age when it happened- Its hard but come on! I couldn't get pass this and just how mean/nasty she was to her daughter and Jedd. Also the writing made it seem she was 65 and not 45- I just couldn't get her in my head as a 45 year old.

I couldn't see why Jedd would even want a relationship and for me there was no chemistry coming off the pages. I'm sure others will enjoy this but it wasn't my cup of tea.

1 star/ normal DNF

Thanks to smartypants romance for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Beverly & Jedd
I love that this is a more seasoned coupling!
I didn’t like how it draggggggged but the story over all was a good one and I really enjoyed getting to see Bee come out of her shell and stand up to her well-meaning daughter.
Jedd I didn’t really trust I knew he was keeping something from us and when we find out it makes the story more interesting that is for sure.
Loved the narration.

Neither our heroine nor our hero are librarians but our heroine is Library-adjacent. Our heroine has had a rough life. The first guy she slept with impregnated her. At 17 her loving family kicked her to the curb, and she was forced to marry the philandering jerk. Then years later she gets in a car accident and spends time in a wheelchair. Unfortunately, her daughter steps into the place of caregiver and instead of helping her mother to recover, she enables her weaknesses.
Enter our hero. There are a lot of places where I do not like him, at all. You will find these places and agree with me, I'm sure. If it wasn't for his inner dialogue, I would have sent him packing. Sometimes even that didn't save him.
Good book!

I don't know...I just couldn't connect to this one. I just didn't buy how Jed was interested in Bev when she was a big dark cloud.

I just couldn't connect with these two. I'm also a therapist, and to see Bev go from mostly using the wheelchair to being more mobile I, just nagged at me. That takes skilled services, not just the will power. So that bugged me and prevented me getting too invested.

Our introduction to Beverly (in Naomi's book) was initially less than flattering. As it turns out, she has her reasons for being sharp and prickly and pushing people away before they can get close enough to hurt her. Throw in the accident that she never really came to terms with in a healthy way and you have a woman simmering in self-hatred.

But...BUT Beverly is slowly finding her way back to herself. It's not an easy journey. She has to realize what's holding her back before she can start moving forward. Her unwilling attraction to Jedd is the push she needs to start caring about things she's put on the backburner. She starts setting boundaries for herself and for her well-meaning daughter. She starts looking at herself as a woman again instead of as an abandoned wife and a single mother and a person who's been damaged. Jedd helps in that regard. His own injury puts hers in perspective and it makes her realize that she can either wallow in her self-pity or push herself to be more than she is.

WHEW. Beverly has a lot going on. A LOT.

Meanwhile, Jedd's ready to settle down and put down roots after years of being on the move. His family and other considerations brought him back to Green Valley and...well, he's not entirely truthful with Bev, but he has his reasons. And all those prickles of hers don't do anything to push him away, which works out well for both of them in the end.

Bev and Jedd's romance is slow (and eventually steady) and set with more than a few drawbacks, but they get where they need to go. I really liked seeing Beverly learn how to stand up for herself and find her joy again. It was pretty darn inspiring.

I was an emotional wreck when I finished reading “Love in Deed.” Every page was filled with deep emotion, the struggle of dealing with physical pain and the joy of finally finding someone who truly understood you. L.B. Dunbar has outdone herself with this amazing and powerful book. I read it twice because I needed to experience again, the beautiful reawakening of Beverly and the encouraging and loving affection Jedd had for her.

I cried when the hairstylist began cutting Beverly’s hair, because she realized this was a new beginning and that she was ready for anything. I felt how free Beverly became after her plunge into the cold water. It was a rebirth for her so she could become the woman and mother she wanted to be, and begin her life again.

Jedd could see into Beverly’s soul and somehow made her admit her fears, her desires and her dreams to him. It was as if he had cast a spell over her with his sultry, deep voice and his mesmerizing eyes. But none of that mattered to Beverly. She knew Jedd would leave her just like everyone else in her life. Her trust in men was non-existent and when he did leave, she would always regret never having the chance to taste Jedd’s lips while gazing into his soulful eyes.

This was another second chance romance/mature character story as with the first by this author in the series, Love in Due Time. It was the sister of the main character in that book, Naomi Winters. And like other books in the SmartyPants universe, Green Valley Chronicles we were lucky enough to get time with those other characters as well. I liked that this book’s timeline overlapped a bit with that one, so that we got to see some outside views of Naomi’s romance as well.

Beverly had it even rougher than Naomi did. While she’d been probably more of an outgoing younger woman, and tough in her own way at one time, she’d become bitter over an accident that she had when trying to confront her cheating ex-husband. And now she’s left having to use crutches, or a wheelchair even at times, in order to move around. Her daughter Hannah basically gives up her own life to come home and help her mother out, in a way continuing the vicious cycle that began when Beverly got pregnant and had her whole life thrown down a different road than maybe she’d planned.

We also got some time with Scotia Simmons, who I’m excited to see will be getting her own book soon, (even if my paperback copy said to turn the page for a preview and there wasn’t one!) Scotia being the other sibling in Naomi and Beverly’s family. I’m also hoping for a book for Beverly’s daughter Hannah and maybe a sexy sounding man named Grizzly.

The romance was sweet, slow burn with definitely instant physical attraction. But there was the whole thing that I wish Jedd hadn’t held out on his secret for so long, that he’d told her sooner to save Beverly from feeling used once again. And I felt so much for his brother Boone, and loved how Beverly handled that situation. I was also left wanting so badly to try some of this soap that she was making and selling!

My only disappointment, is the same one I had for the other book this time around in the Green Valley Public Library series, and the others in the Donner Bakery series, this had nothing to do with the library. In fact, only one scene, maybe, in the entire book? I get it. We’re getting family and connected stories, I just miss the library.

I felt this story to the bottom of my soul.

There’s so much to appreciate and be in wonder of, I don’t think I know how to review …..

I don’t even know where to begin with this story. Do I tell you about Beverly’s spirit so torn and dejected she is walking her life path with no purpose or thought? Maybe I tell you about Beverly’s submission to live in the shadows, immobile and listless. That sounds dreadful doesn’t it?! Well, it happened. Until … Jedd Flemming :) But Jedd didn’t come along baggage free and that’s what eventually buried this story deep in my soul. Their shared connection of a darken past lit their path into the future! Even when this story loomed with despair, it was hopeful. My God was it hopeful!

GAH, I love reading anything by this author because I feel it every time. Her writing of mature characters is something I can relate to very easily and her stories make me feel powerful and hopeful for the future. Everyone always wants to write about the 30something billionaire, or better yet, the 30something Beverly, but this Beverly and her path is not a common storyline. That alone makes me #oneclick this author every time. And also because she is ridiculously good with the words!

I don’t know if I can even put into words how much I loved this story. Beverly & Jedd both have past pain in their lives. They’ve had to learn to over come their disabilities...well, Jedd has been able to move on but Bev hasn’t really begun to until she meets this man. He helps show her she’s much more than her disability and can do whatever she sets her mind to. It’s a beautiful love story and so much more! Thank you for an amazing story.

I think this is the best book that LB has ever written.

Beverly and Jedd are the real deal. Jedd helps Bev see that loss doesn’t have to keep you down. And the growth in her confidence and their relationship is beautiful to read about.

It’s fun to read about a grouchy heroine for a change and Bev’s tongue is as sharp as her heart is soft.

It was great that Bev’s sisters are growing closer as well and I’m looking forward to Scotia’s story next.

Loved it!!

LB Dunbar is a wonderful writer so that is not the problem I had reading this, unfortunately I just had a really hard time connecting and empathizing with the hero and heroine of this story enough to give it more stars. Both Beverly and Jedd have been through some really awful events in their pasts leaving them both physically scarred and Beverly severely emotionally scarred. Normally this would make me really be in their corners rooting for them. But there were some things they both said and did that really bothered me which is what made it difficult for me to really get into the story more and truly like them. I am very happy they were able heal each other though and navigate through the rough journey they were on together to find their eventual HEA. It sure was a tough road for them.

This book is AMAZING. I jumped into the series without reading any other books. This is book 6 in a multi-author series. L.B. Dunbar writes book one and now number six. I honestly had no idea what I was diving into when I picked up this book. I know I like L.B.'s writing style and have truly enjoyed a few of her other books.

When introducing the main female character (Beverly/"Bee"), you are put off by her actions and behaviors. You can feel the loneliness and pain radiating from this character as you move into the book. As we descend into her life, actions and the introduction of the lead male, you begin to see why Bee is the way she is and how/when she realizes she has been living at the bottom of a downward spiral. She has been complacent for way too long and dependent on a loyal, loving daughter that she never bothered to truly live a meaningful life. Bee's transformation awakens the strong desire that she wants to live a better life and Jedd may be her salvation in getting that life. Jedd truly seems to be a kind soul looking for his landing strip in this life as well. His challenges have not left him behind instead shows how one can persevere in the worst of circumstances. The changes that he is able to inspire in Bee are beautiful and realistic. Throw in some drama with family and friends from the past and L.B. spins a fantastic tale.

I look forward to reading more about the characters in this series and have already purchased book one - Love in Due Time. I am looking forward to catching up with Bee's sister Naomi. Great job, L.B. Dunbar! I received this book as an arc and have given my honest opinion.

‘Jedd shifts his muscular body in my direction again and stares at me, taking a long moment to look at my hair and my eyes, then travel down my nose and land on my lips.

“What’re you looking at?” I snap, feeling stripped naked before him. My hair blows in the fall breeze, and my neck feels the whisper of the next season approaching. I shiver with the wind, but it’s really his appraisal causing the tremble.

“Just looking at you, Bee. Only you.”’

If you ever want to see a shining example of what hard work, dedication and passion for your craft can achieve, look no further than writer LB Dunbar. Her writing has progressed, flourished and dazzled since that first novel some five years ago, something that is entirely evident when you start to read her new Smartypants Romance release, Love in Deed.

The level of maturity and beauty within the dialogue, the bewitchment of the plot, and the brilliance of a complicated heroine and supremely romantic hero, is showcased spectacularly within this story.

From the very beginning to the very end, the reader’s emotions are entangled and invested, we laugh, grimace, love, gasp and hurt as each page turns. We’re taken along on one helluva ride as we see and hear and experience everything through a dual POV, one of which includes the taciturn, prickly and wonderfully complex female protagonist that is Beverly Townsen. And what a fantastically multifaceted, clever and well structured character she is. Her whole personality is a bombardment of criticism and barbs, mixed feelings and thoughts, so sensitive and so loving, simply wrapped up in this shatter-proof shell of a woman, who repeatedly tries to protect her fragile heart with sharp wit, dry humour and an even sharper tongue. And most of the time it's directed inwards.

As those layers peel back and the real Beverly begins to blossom and sparkle, we are gifted this phenomenal, kind, sweet and very funny heroine. She’s unique and captivating but more than anything she learns to love herself all over again and in the process love those around her more demonstrably too. And the one to start that particular ball rolling is our ridiculously sexy, truly wonderful, swaggering cowboy, Jedd Flemming. A man who is the epitome of what a hero should be. He’s in it for the long haul, he’s tough, sincere and brave, never allowing a little hard work get in the way of what or who he truly wants. It’s within that passion and drive and patience that we see just how much these two are made for one another. He’s the strong, stalwart current of the ever flowing river, to the tumultuous and temperamental crash of her ocean. They shouldn’t work together, so vastly different, but they do. They spark and ignite off each other, creating not only some of the most sensual and sexy scenes ever but they also offer each other comfort, friendship and shelter. Something that they both were lacking for much too long.

Love in Deed is the sigh-inducing, heart-palpitating, thigh-clenching epitome of what a romance story should be. It’s full of chaotic, pleasurable, comedic, beautiful and profound feelings and people. It’s clever, layered, exciting, intoxicating and packed with not only a rich and engaging storyline but with rich and engaging characters, who elevate this book to dizzying new heights. From the complexities of Beverly and Jedd to the raw and difficult and intriguing feelings regarding all the other personalities peppered throughout Green Valley and beyond, Love in Deed will induce a book hangover in even the more seasoned of us readers. It. Is. Simple perfection. And you can't improve on perfection.

Love in Deed, an all-new standalone contemporary romance from L.B. Dunbar, is coming May 12th!

After reading book 1 in the Green Valley Library series (Love in Due Time) I skipped to book 6 because I wanted Beverly’s story.

Beverly isn’t an easy, likable heroine, but there’s good reason. She was dealt a bad hand of cards in her life and has made mistakes - the biggest one being that she drove drunk, got into an accident, and lost some use of her legs and is permanently disabled.

Beverly is a prickly person, and the hero, Jedd, quickly identifies that she has a “strike first” mentality to try to protect herself. She makes mistakes, and is very cruel at times because of her insecurities - like when she tells her daughter not to “fuck Jedd to try to keep him around.” While Beverly does change and get better throughout the book, I don’t feel she and her daughter Hannah ever had a true reckoning. Beverly sunk into a depression that forced Hannah to drop out of college and work two jobs. Hannah enabled her mother and prevented her from stepping up to do things herself. I wish we got a bit more closure on this front.

I think the storyline with Jedd and his brother was a tad underdeveloped, and I’m wondering if we’ll see Boone again. I feel like even at the end of the book we don’t know Boone, because we only hear what happened to him, no actual interactions with him.

But I really enjoyed this book as a second chance at love for Beverly, as she learns to trust others and believe in herself.

After meeting Bev and Jedd in Love in Due Time, I was hoping they’d get their own HEA at some point down the road, so I was thrilled when it was announced that they were the focus of this book and boy did they take me on one hell of a ride. All the feels happened and then some, some of which had me wanting to reach through the Kindle and Gibbs smack both Bev and Jedd a time or two dozen. But, regardless of which emotion they were pulling out of me, they kept me turning the pages to see what it would take for them to get their HEA.

Going into this book I “knew” how Beverly was thanks to Love in Due Time, but damn, even I wasn’t expecting all the baggage she was carrying around. It was like every non-happy moment of her life bundled up in her heart and turned her bitter, not that I can fully blame her considering all that she had gone through. So it took a bit to see that she was simply stuck in her own head with the belief that this was all her life would ever be, so watching her work her way out of it ~ with a few shoves from Jedd ~ was a thing of beauty. I really liked Jedd. He hasn’t had an easy life, but he has made it his own and now has a vision of what he wants his future to be. He’s sweet and considerate and isn’t afraid to tackle any obstacles in his way. But as much as I liked the guy, he had a few moments where even I was like “Oh, no he didn’t”.

Their journey to their HEA was a rough one, enjoyable and quite satisfying when all was said and done, but rough. The push/pull between these two was real and the communicating while not communicating got a little much for me, but they ended up working for me because despite all the crazy going on around them, they did see who the other was beneath the surface and found comfort in it. The issues they were both dealing with were intense and while there were some I would have liked a little more on, I really like where they were at with each other in the end.

This was a great addition to the Green Valley World/Pennyverse and I enjoyed watching all the twists and turns of the story unfolded. But while I was good with how most of the issues were resolved, there were a couple that I felt needed more time spent on because they were brought up, but never really worked out ~ at least not to my satisfaction. But outside of that, I loved catching up with Naomi and Nathan, definitely want more of Tower and cannot wait for Scotia’s book!

Love In Deed is the heartbreaking journey of forgiveness, finding yourself again and a reawakening of the mind, body and soul. Jedd is a silver fox with a heart of gold. He is back in his old town to make go of a business . Beverly is a woman that has been down a rocky road and is filled with doubt and hurt. She is broken, has been pushed aside and lied too. Trusting someone is not going to come easy. This is a tale filled with so many hidden truths and mystery . An old town is certainly full of secrets and when Jedd takes up at the barn on Beverly's property everything is about to come to light! Such a great story of learning to live and love again !
