Literally, in Ella’s case--as if her arch enemy trying to kill her wasn’t enough.
Then again, with the incredibly gorgeous Bishop and her lifelong crush vying for the right to court and claim her, maybe it’s not all that bad.
If two toms is company, three is definitely a crowd, but knowing that can’t quench Ella’s thirst for the forbidden knowledge her professor has to impart.
Sterling, Axel and Bishop are definitely up for the task of getting Ella through the semester in one piece, but the future Empress needs more than just a trio of worshipful toms. She needs Kings, and only time will tell if her wild toms can be brought to heel.
Feral is the second book in the Cats of Felidae Academy series, a feline shifter world revolving around a heroine with a magical destiny. This Cinderella retelling includes an enemies-to-lovers pairing, a university-age student having a relationship with her professor, and in true RH fashion, she’ll have all her guys by the end of the series. This is a slow-burn reverse harem. All characters are 18+.
How disappointing this was...totally lost my interest in the series & I almost quit a few times. I wish I hadn't bothered with the series in the first place at this point. The story flowed ok, but there's a lot of mystery spun into this book, not many answers, & not much really actually happening in the story other than Ella choosing the 3 guys to get the rings (that were obvious since book 1 of who the 3 would be) & finally having sex with all 3 to get her out of her heat. Ella still has no backbone, still acts like a Mary Sue for the most part, though she does have a few moments where she shows signs of getting that backbone with Marissa. Of her 3 guys, they all hate each other, but yet can have sex with her without problems. Sterling seems like a good guy, the only good one of the 3. Bishop seems like he has a hidden agenda to do with Ella, and is suspect because of that hidden agenda, that may or may not be anything, had he come clean with Ella about it before hand. But I hated Axel- since the beginning, and that she even gave him a ring pissed me off, regardless of the reasons at the moment (to piss off Marissa), and then that she bit him- marking him (this may be the biggest reason I no longer want to continue with the series). He was an absolute jerk since the beginning. Had there been a few more answers to questions/mysteries, less drawn out drama of the guys hating each other, and more actual happening in the book, might have helped to keep me in the story more, but too much angst, and knowing that Axel is a permanent figure now in the book, NO, I'm done...Definitely won't be continuing with the series...
The main character of these book ...' the empress'.... .. is a total disappointment, instead of being a symbol for strength and power, in which the author for this series, made a whole scene in the first book of a moon ceremony, where the moon supposedly choose the Empress for the colony, leaves you total confuse as to .......What was the idea for the ceremony? You will think, that a process to be choose by the moon ..Will endowed the Empress with some abilities to control a whole colony...but instead they abuse and control the main character. I wonder are books write on a rush? Where is the quality? Total disappointed.
Things are heating up at Felidae Academy. Literally, in Ella’s case--as if her arch enemy trying to kill her wasn’t enough. This is a wonderful addition to this thrilling series! Wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start. Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believeable. Great suspense and action with that adds so much to the story. Such a thrilling read that I couldn't put it down. Can't wait to read more of these. Recommend reading.
I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and this is my honest review.
She was found a Stray on the streets and a well off leader of the shifter community took her in. Book 1 is about how she goes from being a nobody to a somebody.
Hotdam.!!!!!! This book has me twisted up and out of place that's how good it was. The first book had me yelling Ella grow a dam spine but it seems like this time around kitty finally let her claws out.!!! With her feelings for bishop growing each day she thinks he a breath of fresh air but as it may seem even the sweetest has secrets.with axel he just a hott ass mess pun intended.he knows he sex on a stick but with Ella an his history he more like a bullet she wants to dodge but can't especially with her feelings are strong for him,add in the teacher and we have a full blown cat fight so to speak he the only one who is not acting like a possessive ass.an only wants the best for her. In the end her heat is taken care of but at what cost because of course nothing comes that easy for her with one problem taken cAre of another pops up.and with it alot of confusion.argh beware it's a cliffhanger I am foaming out the mouth for book three and I just got the ARC today lol ,
ONE INTERESTING CONTINUATION!!! Fantastic! River imparts one exciting approach, spinning this baby with 100% on point realism, along with such an immense imagination and insight for detail, melds this gem together seamlessly. Observing the instant realization and charged atmosphere, electrifying twists, stunning turns and mingled lines, tempting our characters in ways they could have never anticipated. Anarchy, escapades and havoc run amuck, kicking this gem into a tempest, blasting it into a frenzy with a mind-blowing culmination. Exposing the drama, misgivings, intrigue, turmoil, mounting suspense and perplexing situations along with a boatload of chaos, you have one block busting adventure. The characters are authentic and genuine with depth and qualities that blend into amazing personalities. The scenes are so graphically detailed and descriptive it's like being transported to ground zero with them. Remarkable job River, thanks for sharing this bad boy with us.
Wow, Ella really has her hands full with three men, numerous catty (ha, get it?) females, and her first heat. She has three rings she can give to three toms signaling her interest in mating with them. There is the hot teacher (Sterling) who apparently brought on her heat, the first guy who was kind to her at her worst moment (Bishop), and her childhood crush (Axel). Sterling seems determined to avoid her, Bishop is trying to take her on a date, and Axel is just annoying her with his macho attitude. What's a girl to do? Ella has always tried to avoid attention and now she has her own crap show. Things come to a head on a class trip she will never forget, but it ain't over yet. Stay tuned, the show goes on...
I was given an advanced copy of this book by the author. My review is voluntary.
This second book was better than the first! Another page-turner with a better plot and epic cliffhanger! Ok, so Axel didn't get shunned by Ella as I hoped in my last review. He does seem to be changing as I didn't want, but I guess I am cool with it since I can tolerate him so much more. Sterling still remains my top favorite of the three, and Bishop..he just bumped down to third. I don't know what is up with that one but he has a lot to work on. I will say that I am glad Ella chose who she did for her first. It was the right choice and it worked out in everyone's favor. Now that cliffhanger had me squealing and gripping my kindle with a death grip! I cannot wait to see what happens now after the tidbit that seems to be an important factor in the story. Things just got a whole lot more interesting!
In the second installment of the series, now that her heat is more under control, she has to pick which males to give the ring and her innocence too. Ella is apprehensive normally and shy, she has changed~ She will have physical fights with Marissa, but is pushed into it; she will go on dates with Bishop; a shopping spree with Alex; and a trip from the academy with Sterling attending. Fights between the toms will occur in their feline shapes; most of all her heat will exceed the pills given to her by the doctor! Who will be the one to take her innocence? Who will stop the heat…or whom? Will anyone mate with her? The ending is a cliffhanger…but what will it mean for Ella as the future Empress? I received this as an ARC and am leaving a voluntary review.
I am not usually a fan of the darker/bully romances but I am enjoying this series. The complex world of Felidae Academy and it’s shifters is well written and full of compelling twists and turns. Ella and her three leading men Bishop, Axel and Sterling are all flawed which makes them more interesting to read about. I want to see how they overcome their shortcomings both real and perceived. I want to see them grow both individually and as a group. The take on shifters and their society is fresh, if a little bit dark. The story drew me in from page one and I was invested all the way through to the cliffhanger ending. 4/5 stars I am looking forward to the next installment! I received an ARC from the author. I voluntarily review this book. This is my honest review.
Ella is back at the academy and still trying to fit in. Bishop was my second favorite but something not quite right in up with him and the fraternity he belongs to. He is becoming possessive and demanding and not the easy going guy we first met. Axel is still the same entitled rich boy, but he's met his match in Emma. Sterling is my favorite and I was worried when he refused to tutor her anymore. In my opinion, I think Sterling is the best bet for her heat. I think he has her best interest at heart and Bishop is becoming hard to deal with. Axel is even starting to grow on me. I can't wait for the next book. I requested an advanced reader copy and am under no obligation to leave this review.
Where to begin! Wow can it get any better ??? But I bet it will with this author ! Loving this authors work ! This book has surpassed what I thought it was going to be and I already knew it was going to be great ! Loving all the characters again Ellas has gone from kitten to cat , Axel loving him more and not hating bishop not loving as much but damn....Sterling...... loving it ! Kept me enthralled all way through it didn’t want it to end then bam to end on that cliff hanger damn!!!! I seriously can’t waiting for the next book it already was getting hot and heavy and to end like that ??? Was great but not great as I want to read the next book like yesterday !!! 5 stars 🌟 of course !!
The plot thickens! Book 2 we get to see a bit more into the characters and what makes them tick. Tiny spoiler but, I had Bishop's number from the moment his character was introduced. I knew it! I'm intrigued for more back stories on bishop and Mr sexy pants teacher. There's a lot we don't know about their history and dynamic. Color me intrigued. And Axel... he still deserves a blanket party from our MC. You can't treat someone like the dirt on your shoe their whole. Life and not have to grovel for eternity. He has some serious making up to do River. MAKE HIM GROVEL! Yes, it ends on a cliffy, but what great series doesn't. I'm excited to see what develops in book 3.
Now the details.... this series gets better with each book. I was intrigued with the story from the first book so much that I couldn’t put it down. Book 2 was even worse. I started it last night but unfortunately was too sick to keep my eyes open to read the rest. However, that was not the case this morning. I’m so glad Ella finally gave out the rings and that Sterling has come around a little. I think his feelings for Ella are way more that what even he thinks they are. I can’t wait to see what comes next in this wonderful world.
Ella! Yes, Queen! This is more of what I’m talking about. Look at you and your inner strength and stuff!
Seriously – I was reading this book and the amount of times that I could just say “Dayaaaaaaamm Gina!” was impressive to even me.
I’m so limited in expressing my awe because you need to invest the time to really experience this for yourself… but I want to say so many things… but I can’t. I shouldn’t…
And then there’s the fact that beneath the surface, the secrets are running rife! There’s so much going on and it’s enough to make you start scratching for all the little finger wisps of teasing info that we’re being exposed to… Oh the things that need to be exposed here…
Oh my God being a second book this was amazing. It have us some more information about Ella and I guess the 3 guys who will be her consorts. Can I just say damn...they are described perfectly and hot. We get to see them fight over her and then finally succumb to her. Axel, Bishop and Sterling are going to be a gift with her and after reading the last chapter in this book, I do can't wait for the next one. A MUST read. I give it 5 stars. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book as an Advanced Reader's Copy.
Honestly, like some reviewers has mentioned, I have somewhat mixed reviews for this book. I am a little unsure about how I feel about both the pacing and character-building. I am still interested in the story and characters, but some moment left me scratching y head (without offering spoilers!). It ends on a cliffhanger and I have to admit I do want to see how it works out in the next book. As usual the quality of the writing and editing are great, just wondering where the story is going to lead.
This book had me swinging from way to the one way to the other. Is Axel an arrogant idiot that is self-centered and doesnt care about Ella? Is Bishop as nice as he seems or is he playing Ella? All these questions go through my mind as i read this book and omg im still none the wiser. Thats how good this book and series is. My saving grace is the hot prof Sterling. Blimey i love his character. I just hope hes not going to change character and be sly and underhand with Ella? I will not be happy if he is, lol. I am totally loving this series so much. Just Brilliant
OMG! Did that just happen? In “Feral” Ella has finally given her rings to three toms and just in time as her heat came back full blast! The surprise is who will she give herself to for her first time. Will there be consequences? This is an intriguing book 2 in the “Cats of Felidae Academy” series and only heightened my interest in the next book of this exciting series. I received a free copy of this book. This review was posted voluntarily
What a whirlwind of a story. I loved Ella and her men. They just work so well together and I love how they each compliment each other. The storyline picks up where book one left off and there's even more action than book one. It's one of those stories that's fun, hot and stays in your mind long after you finish it. River Ramseys story's always have a huge entertainment aspect where you know you'll never get bored reading her work. It's a beautiful escape for any RH fan!
This was an interesting read. I can’t wait to read what’s next. Ella is finally growing a spine and Axel isn’t sure how to handle it. Bishop isn’t really the sweetheart I thought he was and Sterling is just yummy and a voice of reason. Their chemistry is hot. The guys have to put away their possessiveness and jealousies to satisfy Ella and I loved it. The cliffhanger comes before you know it
I like this series and really like the main character. I just think this author is lacking in some areas of the story. I feel like this book didn't progress as far as I had hoped it would and she keeps ending the books it inopportune places. I get the point of a cliffhanger to get the readers to come back but the endings don't feel like cliffhangers but drop off of the plot. In this book it is literally the last paragraph you kind of get a glimpse of where the title comes from but still don't know what it means. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed reading this book and I like how it is progressing and how the characters handle certain situations. I just haven't been liking the way the author structures the book, the endings just feel like drops offs instead of cliffhangers. Definitely looking forward to book 3 and seeing what happens next.
I really enjoyed the first book and was looking forward to reading more. She was just learning about her options in the last book and now there are three strong contenders she is considering.
The author keeps it interesting by offering some conflicting information so the choices are not as clear cut as they appeared in the first book. She is growing strong and not willing to be controlled. I like seeing her embrace her strength.
Wow! This was an epic follow up to Stray. Ella has changed so much from book 1 and enjoyed that the characters true personalities came out in this book. I haven't been able to pick my favorite suitor for her, but they all are great characters. I need the next book asap because the ending left me speechless.
Ohhhhhhhh. My. Goodness! You dear author are going to be the end of me!!! You can't leave it like that, again! Well I guess you can, cos you have. This book was unputdownable. I just couldn't. So many emotions as I read it. Things that I hoped would happen did, and lots of other things aswell. I neeeeeeeeeeed the next book pronto!!! I loved it!
A little pricey, but I really enjoyed it. I didn't notice any typos. Read the first book first. I'll warn ya now, like me you may want to jump into the book n punch a few people. Lol.... Seriously good read. Anxiously awaiting book 3 to find d out why she can do what she did..... Not supposed to be possible.
Wow! Ella has her hands full! She goes in heat after being around her teacher but he seem to want to stay away. But her two guys want to go out and ge with her. She has her rings to give to her hopefuls and she has her enemies to keep an eye on! This book has it all but the next book which I need now!!!!!! Can’t wait!!! I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book l
Things definitely heat up in this second book in the series. Ella will have even more problems with her fellow students. And then there are the men. At times she doesn’t know if she wants to kiss them or hit them. The shifters’ personalities quite often take after their cat counterpart. And toms will be toms. And the queens can make plenty of drama. I can’t wait for the next book to come out.
