Gael is the third book in the Callaghan Mafia Series.
Savannah Rylan is a romance writer that spends most of her time writing and reading with her cat, Gris. When not penning the next great American novel, (HA), you can find her on the beach with a drink in her hand or at the gym testing out some strange new position. Yoga, obviously. She lives in Southern California with her husband and Gris, the true love of her life.
i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the third book in the Callaghan Mafia series. In this book, Gael, along with his brothers Brody, Declan and Flynn are still trying to find who killed their father and are now reeling from the news their mother is going to move in with their uncle. Gael is angry and wants to spend a night blowing off steam, so he goes to an exclusive club and when he sees Colleen being auctioned off, he knows he is going to buy her. Colleen is the only daughter of Maguires, a rival mafia family that kidnapped Brody's love in book 2, they also burned a warehouse belonging to the Callaghans. Gael knew Collen when she was younger and he used to be friends with her brother. Gael knew Colleen had a crush on him when they were younger and he knows he is going to own her now. Colleen was sold by her father because he needed money and was used to being treated like she was property. When Gael bought her, she wondered if he changed or if he was still the same sweet boy she remembered. Gael made it clear from the beginning that Colleen was to do as she was told and was there to serve him. Colleen wondered if she was just in a new prison. Gael needs to marry Colleen for the contract he signed to be complete and he wonders just how she sees him. The more they spend time together, the more Gael wonders if his anger is making Colleen hate him. With the issues with his mother and his father's unsolved murder, Gael is starting to rethink how he behaves. I loved this book! i loved Gael, he was dominate and wanted to be the boss. Colleen still saw some of the old Gael in him and she tried to reach out to him. Colleen was stronger than she thought she was, but she insure who to trust. This series gets better and better, i can't wait to read Flynn's book.
Gael was a douche-canoe for 85-90% of this book. And that's saying something when his brothers won't win personality contests either.
ALSO, spoiler alert, but it's kinda weird that so far ALL of the brothers are Dom's & at least half of them PURCHASED themselves a virgin (yes, weird & sick). The other brother just married his step-sister (smh). At least 3 of the 4 heroines were virgins before they were ruined by the Callaghan Brothers, not sure yet about book #4.
So yeah, this series is twisted and sadly it's turning out to be repetitive & monotonous as well. But, I very rarely DNF & I've already read 3 out of the 4 (short) books, so I will finish this series if it kills me. LOL, just kidding. So dramatic!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
This is the third book & an excellent addition to the “Callaghan Mafia” series & I enjoyed reading it but I would recommend that this series is read in sequence to fully understand the underlying story-line. The plot is well-paced & full of unexpected situations & events. The complex characters are quite unique with their individuality & are emotionally damaged to a certain extent but there is good chemistry between them although at times they are quite distrustful. I will admit that in the beginning I was not too impressed with the way Gael treated the Colleen although his attitude towards her does change as he gets emotional involved with her. There is: one of the Callaghan brothers (Gael) is frustrated belief when none of them are any closer to discovering who murdered their Step-father (Richard) & decides to visit a secret underground auction house where he discovers the daughter (Colleen) of a rival family is on auction & promptly buys her, Gael’s brothers (Declan, Brody & Flynn), their conniving mother (Fiona), their murdered step- father (Richard) & his manipulative brother (Martin), Colleen’s despicable father (Patrick Maguire) & her brothers (Liam & Ronan), mafia, family issues, contracts, action, deceit, betrayal, drama, mystery, secrets, suspicions, intrigue, twists & turns, emotional turmoil, distrust, fear, danger, threats, enemies, attempted manipulations, devious plans, discovery, heartache, confrontation, compromises & some steamy scenes. Sadly this book does end in a cliffhanger but I look forward to the next book with great anticipation.
OMG This Book Rocked!! Gael is the third book in the Callaghan Mafia Series by Savannah Rylan. This series just keeps getting better with each book. Now we are faced with Gael who is still upset with his mother Fiona, storms out from a family gathering and ends up in a secret club to let off steam. Who should he see on stage being auction off but Colleen Maguire. One look at her and Gael remembers the shy girl growing up and he ends up buying her as her father is selling his daughter for money. Now these two will begin a stormy relationship as Gael will soon discover he is unable to deny his feelings for Colleen the more time he is with her. Colleen has always had a crush on Gael and now that she is with him she will do all she can to have him. Once they spend a night together things will soon change for both of them. Danger still surrounds the brothers as they still can't seem to find out who killed Richard. Throw in their mother and Martin things still are not what them seem. Once Gael informs Colleen in order to protect her they need to wed, now plans are put into motion for their wedding. But once again Colleen's brother track her down, lie to her about Gael's true intentions and she runs away. Now Gael is racing to get to her in time and once he learns the truth that Colleen was lied to these two decide to give everything up and start a new life in Mexico. Gael's brothers and their women are not happy about this new development but when Fiona and Martin announce they are getting married, Gael has no choice but to stay and end this once and for all but only if Flynn returns from Ireland to help. Will the Callaghan brothers ever find out the truth and seek their revenge? This book had it all suspense, drama, danger and plenty of passion. We are left on edge once again with this thriller, can't wait for the next book about Flynn. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
This series from Savannah about the Callaghan Mafia is an absolute hit and it's part 3 of this series and it just keeps getting better with each book... The storyline is freaking awesome with a combination of the following your in store for some revenge, rival families, hate, twist and turns. Ultimate betrayls to the fullest. Had to push through a migraine to read this but I have absolutely no regrets in pushing through and getting this read, couldn't put it down.. Your going to need to get the next book to the series Flynn for the continuation of this great series!!! I will admit that in the beginning I was not too impressed with the way Gael treated the Colleen although his attitude towards her does change as he gets emotional involved with her but you got to admit these were two powerful main characters. Now we are faced with Gael who is still upset with his mother Fiona, storms out from a family gathering and ends up in a secret club to let off steam and he sees on stage being auction off but Colleen Maguire. One look at her and Gael remembers the shy girl growing up and he ends up buying her as her father is selling his daughter for money. No more telling you anymore goodies read the book it is well worth it. I voluntarily received an ARC of this book from author and this is my honest review.
Holy Guacamole, Batman! Better buckle up because this book is full of twists and turns and heart pounding action! Gael is the third book in the Callaghan Mafia series and is about ... wait for it ... Gael. Frustrated because the brothers are no closer to finding their stepfather's murderer, Gael "purchases" a companion, a daughter of a rival family, at an underground auction house. It appears that Colleen is being auctioned off to cover her father's debts. There she is bought by her childhood crush, Gael. As tensions mount and the facts surrounding the murder of Richard Callaghan become murkier, Colleen is unsure if or when her own life will be snuffed out to pay for her family's crimes against the Callaghan mafia. This series should be read in order. While Gael is technically a stand-alone book, it picks up where Brody (the second book in this series) ends. The last book, Flynn, should reveal all the answers to all the questions and wrap up the Callaghan Mafia series. I am looking forward to finding out who murdered Richard Callaghan and if the 4 brothers find their happily ever after endings. ***This novel is rated R for adult language and graphic sex scenes.
What the hell Gael? (I like that it rhymes) That was my first thought when he was buying a woman. Now I'm glad he got Colleen away from her terrible father. For the way Colleen was raised and lived she is actually pretty well rounded. Ciara is being quite nasty and I'm not impressed with this behavior. She is showing what a catty brat looks like when she doesn't get her way. I'm proud of Colleen standing up for herself to Ciara and telling her how it is. Either support us or back off! It is not her place to pressure Colleen to change their plans, and use Declan and the family as ammo. That is a low blow and I cannot see Declan being supportive of that.
Fiona is still at the center of the action. Again, I'm going to be super disappointed if at the end she didn't have something to do with Richards death. Her and Martin are so shady, but I guess that's the point.
My quandary is this: How did Patrick Macquire know that Gael was buying that warehouse? How did her brothers know that she was getting married that day and where she would be shopping? Seems like there is a rat in the "family" somewhere for the other families to know so many of their movements.
Gael is the third book in the Callaghan Mafia series.
You will need to read the other two books in the series as this pick a up after them.
In this story we follow Gael, one of the Callaghan brothers. He is rescuing a lady he knows from a black market sale. Her father has put her up for sale and Gael buys her to rescue her.
Colleen doesn’t know why her father puts her up for sale. Other than wanting to put money in his pockets.
Colleen and Gael know each other for the past. But, that story isn’t explained. Colleen love Gael ages ago but we don’t know much about that history.
Gael is a harsh man, buying and selling storage warehouses along the riverfront.
Gael’s family is still looking for his father. However, his mother is now engaged to his uncle. Gael wants his uncle gone from his family.
Will the brothers be backed into a corner with mom getting engaged to the uncle? Did mom have something to do with the father’s disappearance?
I did receive a free ARC copy of this book. I am freely leaving an honest review.
This is an exciting action packed suspense filled mafia romance story.Gael is considered the cold emotionless brother .He deep down doesn't really feel he belongs .His family is so screwed up someone killed their father with hundreds of suspects. His mother is going to marry his uncle days after they find his father's dead body. Then he decides he'll check out the auction he's never felt it's right to auction off women but when he sees Colleen being auctioned off he is going to win this auction.Colleen is the only woman he's ever loved an the daughter of a Rival family. There are so many twists and turns to this story will keep you riveted until the very last page and leave you begging for more..I love the way this amazing author brings the characters to life before your eyes and you can feel their emotions and their pain.I can hardly wait to see what's next by this multi talented author.I voluntarily decided to review this advanced reader copy because it's a great adult suspense filled romance story and I wanted other avid adult romance readers to know it's so worth reading.
Book three. As Gael continues to reel from his mother's announcement about her love for his uncle he goes to the club. There he sees the girl from his youth up for auction. Colleen has been put up for auction by her father, who needs money. Colleen has always had a crush on Gael but right now she sees him as a monster no different than her father. Gael tries to treat her as just an "object" he purchased for his own pleasure, but his feelings from his youth for her are still there. While the sex is crazy hot between them, she still is fighting her feelings that she loves him/ fears him. As they plan their life together their plans are stopped by the family. They need to figure out who killed Richard and what is their mother and Martin up to? Can their fragile foundation withstand this latest development? Will Colleen ease the rage inside Gael? Can she trust him completely? I was given this book for an honest voluntary review
Growing up in the same rough neighborhood, Gael has always had a bit of a crush on Colleen. When he finds out that Colleen has been put on the auction block by her own father to be bought by the highest bidder, he isn't about to lose her. A story that is sexy and heart wrenching as Gael and Colleen start their life when he brings her home after winning the bid at the auction. Their story takes off with a pace that leaves the reader breathless as the underworld shows it's face of betrayals, threats, a murder yet to be solved, and a family that works to find answers as they try to keep their loved ones safe. The family members that were in the first two books of the series are somewhat involved in the story, but the focus is on Gael and Colleen. **I was gifted a copy of "Gael" by the author and leave my review voluntarily based on my reading** 4.5 Stars!
After the end of the last book and the revelations that were revealed, it’s safe to say the Callaghan’s are still trying to find out the truth. This time we find Gael more angry than ever before and this leads him to a woman whom he hasn’t thought about in years, Colleen Maguire. Colleen’s life has been no picnic and she just wants to feel safe but can she trust Gael to either right thing by her? What more could the future hold for this family and will they ever get the go bottom of the their father’s murder?
Loved this book and am excited to see how it concludes. I recommend reading this series in order.
I voluntarily read this book for an honest review.
I really enjoyed this romance. This is the third book in this series and I recommend that you start at book one and read through as there is an overarching story being played out. Gael and Colleen were great characters that shared a easy to feel powerful emotional connection and sizzling chemistry. The intense and suspenseful storyline grabs and holds your attention as the well crafted blend of drama, mystery, action, danger, strong emotions and ever increasing tension flow across every page. I loved it and can't wait to read Flynn's book and see how everything wraps up. This is my frank, freely posted review.
🇮🇪🍀The Callaghan Mafia Series 🍀🇮🇪 just keeps getting better and better which each brother, OMG loved Gael and Colleen story from start to finish, Brothers are still try to figure out who killed there father. Theres many people been throwing to the hat as to who killed Richard. This full of drama, auction were Mafia princess up to be bought plus marriage. Gael and Colleen have sizzling HOT chemistry. Thats it cant say any more with out given to much away. I recommend reading the previous stories to know all the players. Want to know how Gael story plays out well you just have to ONE-CLICK NOW: I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Readers Copy. Loved it Savannah
After Fiona announces she is going to be with Martin, Gael storms out and heads to a secret club where they are having an auction. Low and behold, Colleen Maguire is up on stage. Colleen was always the klutzy kid in glasses. But Gael knew then how much of a crush she had on him. Gael buys her and their relationship begins. The boys are still trying to figure out who killed Richard and now the arrow is pointing more and more at Fiona. Is it all tearing the family apart or making them closer? Time for Flynn’s book!
This is the third book in the Callaghan Mafia series, I do suggest reading the previous books first.
Gael is still reeling that is mother Fiona is getting together with his uncle, a month after is father was found dead. He ends up at a secret club auction and bids on a rival family's daughter, Colleen. Her father will do anything for a buck.... Gael has always been attracted to Colleen and promises to protect her. There is plenty of drama and intrigue going on throughout this book and the series, Gael and Colleen have plenty of chemistry but can that be enough through the difficult time in the Callaghan family at the moment.
This is the third book about the Callaghan Mafia family. It has Gael at a dinner and hearing that his mother is marrying his uncle! He’s angry and storms off and goes to a private club for a drink. He sees a woman getting auctioned off that he knows and he’s not going to let it have. He outbids everyone and takes her home with him. How did she get into this situation and who is she to Gael? Will they find a way to be together! This is something that you’ll have to read to find out! I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
Fantastic modern mafia romantic suspense. Gael is the “business” numbers brother for the Callaghan family. Yet, because he’s not bulky as his brothers and tends to dress in light colored suits with pastel shirts people underestimate him. Colleen is from the McGuire family. Gael would gladly eliminate her father especially after the way he comes to acquire her. There is angst, action, violence and sweet/steamy romance. I received a complementary copy of this book and chose to write a review. I look forward to reading future books by Ms. Rylan especially Flynn to finish this series.
This book was everything. Poor Colleen...basically treated like a servant in her own home growing up to being auctioned off to the highest bidder!! Her ‘father’ was a sick man and Gael was the right man to be her protector. Colleen finally got a backbone letting Abby and Ciara know how she really felt...priceless!! Fiona and Martin have lost both of their minds but definitely keeping things interesting. Who killed Richard??!! Can’t wait to read Flynn!! I received a free review copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
The plot thickens, and in the midst of it all is Gael and Colleen, they had and attraction when young but their families are not the best of friends, when he sees her at an auction, he buys her. Her father is not a happy camper about their relationship, and there is still the question are Gael and his brothers any closer to finding their dad's killer?
The suspense had me turning the pages as fast as I could read them.
I received a copy and I am voluntarily leaving my own honest opinion
I loved this book. It was well written and the characters were well developed. This book is part of a series, but this book included some snippets from the previous book that allowed the reader to be current with the storyline. I loved Colleen and Gael together. Their intense chemistry was off the charts and the way he and his family fight for her was perfect. I loved the ending and can't wait to read what comes next.
This is the 3rd book in the series, and I do recommend reading them in order, for best enjoyment. Gael cannot believe his mother is marrying his Uncle only a month after his father is found dead. He ends up a secret club where he sees Colleen is being put up for auction by her father. What will happen when Gael is the one to purchase her? Fast-paced mafia read with great characters, intense chemistry, and lots of steam. I loved it.
Another fantastic book to the Callaghan Mafia series! The author once again delivers an intense, action packed story with enough twists and turns to keep me glued to the pages. She brings an emotional and steamy romance with descriptive and detailed scenes. It's well written, moves quickly and smoothly and is a great read. I loved this book and am looking forward to the next one.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
I don't quite understand why Gael has so much anger unless it's cause of all the bs his mom is constantly causing!! It's good that he finally had a reason 2 try and start being happy cause of the 1 woman that he had possible feelings 4 as a kid. Etc her bros pulled is unforgivable!! They both deserve 2 b happy in their lives 2get her but it shouldn't b out of expense from his bros. She needs 2 give the other women a chance not just speculate cause she can't get her way.
Gael is Book 3 of the Callaghan mob family. I love this tight group of brothers and he women they fall for. Well written and interesting characters. I was given a copy and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
I really enjoyed reading this Mafia book. The storyline was well written and held me hostage for an afternoon read. The couple had loads of very good chemistry. I voluntarily read and reviewed this from an advanced reader copy.
When I started reading this story, I could not put it down. I read the book in one day. This author is an awesome writer. I can not wait to read more of their books. Keep up the great work. You should definitely read this book. "I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book."
Great plot I loved this story. It is the third installment of the Callaghan Mafia series, and I do recomend that you read the previous books first. The chemistry between Gael and Colleen was perfect right from the start.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Readers Copy of this book.
A fantastic story! It’s hot and heavy and totally unexpected... Gael just thought he was saving Colleen from being sold to the highest bidder. But he didn’t realize he also needed saving... from himself. “I voluntarily received this arc book for an honest review”
ARC review For honest review. Gael Callaghan is in the mob and when he sees colleen being on the auction from another mob family he knows he must have her . Awesome story
