A decent chunk of this book takes place in the prison in my town. The author writes about his experiences in the Mexican and Canadian prisons and is a friend of mine. We also see the viewpoint of a creative writing teacher who volunteers in prisons throughout his life. Pretty vulnerable read and fairly sobering.
