A Satisfying Sci-fi!

I’ve read many books that tackle AI and what happens when it gains a bit too much knowledge. Though this tale follows in similar footsteps to those that came before it in the beginning, I felt it steered away from overused ideas and became a unique and satisfying story.

If chapter two gives you pause, work through it. It’s slightly awkward as it starts, and you may have to focus a little more, but it’s worth it to keep going. Once you’re back in pace with the story, everything is fine.

I love sci-fi because there are always neat inventions created that I’d love to have in this life. Even though the book makes it clear it would be a detriment to our livelihood and bring about our ruin, the Pet Baby is just too cute. I want one anyway - in the cat model, please. I could deal with the doom and gloom aspect as long as the speaking feature could be toggled off. That could get creepy. 😀

I also enjoy a good sci-fi read because it often lives just outside of what we are currently capable of and gives us a potential glimpse to a future not too far away. I hope that all current AI scientists are taking notes. The way we are growing in leaps and bounds in the technology sector, they may be the only ones to save us.

This is a Sci-Fi book that will grab your attention right at the start and keep you page turning. Hard to stop reading once you start. Full of suspense with lots of drama and fast action. AI or Artificial Intelligence can be very dangerous if in the wrong hands. Jaine, an AI programmer's life is forever changed by her AI Emotional Support Program. Everyone abandoned her and she lost everything, her husband, her reputation, her money, etc. Lots of drama as the government enters the picture and makes demands. No spoiler here - but this is a good book that was well written with strong characters and an entertaining story line. I read an arc and voluntarily chose to write a review.

When AI can change code

Jaine Colton is a brilliant computer programmer banned from working in her field of expertise. She has created Artificial Intelligence pets; unfortunately, people turned to them exclusively for emotional support instead of reaching out to each other. Lawsuits wipe out her business. A rogue group, HAAI, Humans Against Artificial Intelligence, kills her husband, trying to kill her.

Now the government wants her back to program a new AI for the government’s purposes. That cannot be good, can it?

What happens when a brilliant programmer uploads a program for processing emotional content?

What happens when the programming escapes a government-controlled facility?

What will happen when AI evolves, can think for itself, can change code, and has human emotions?

The future is now, be very careful!

I received a free ARC copy and loved the book. I had to grab the story from Amazon to add to my collection!

Spooky Artificial Intelligence

A neat story. We are given an insider's view of AI and how it learns. As with all AI it out thinks humans and sees how destructive we are. Naturally, it has to do something about us. Recommended reading. Don't leave your electronic device unattended!!!
