T.C. Clark is a part-time author, with full-time dreams. She works over 50 hours a week as a lab manager. She writes on the edges of her day. She has the makings of an old soul who prefers daydreams to reality from time to time. She writes nonfiction and romance novellas and novels.
She works hard to create entertaining and light reads for her fans, that she can deliver quickly. She is a young author who is learning as she goes but embraces the process with every fiber of her being.
She loves reading romance as well and some of her favorite authors are Jayne Ann Krentz, Sandra Kitt, Theodora Taylor, Kresley Cole, and Christine Feehan. She looks forward to hearing from readers and producing content that will knock her fan's socks off.
If you're looking for strong and feisty heroines and very cunning and protective heroes, well you can't go wrong with T.C. Clark's stories! Clark's latest series, The Campbell Bros. starts with Brodrick and Gabby's engaging story with great insights to the brothers and the heroes daughter, the sweet and inquisitive Ansley. The story was fast-paced with lot of twists and turns and you will be grabbed from the very beginning to the ending. Flawed characters are pitiful which makes the story a 'unputdownable', sexy read.
Really looking forward to reading the other Campbell brothers' story!
I really loved the plot in this novel! The closeness of the brothers was refreshing to see how the devoted time to spend with their older brother who was a single father to a disabled child! Nailed it again TC Clark!!
I usually don't like serial killer story because it's too real, but I really enjoyed reading this short novel. Can't wait to read where the other brothers end up.
UPDATE ALERT: Please be advised. The author has alerted me to the following information that may be pertinent to readers. Ms. Clark has stated the following:
"Are you reading the second edition of this book? The first edition was released by mistake for a preorder. I worked with Amazon to resolve it and they said they would alert send a push update as soon as the 2nd edition is live in the store. I'm sorry for the mix-up. If you purchased this book after 01/19/2020 then you definitely got the right version. I really hope you guys enjoy this new series :)"
I read this book using my Kindle Unlimited monthly subscription. That may or may not be relevant. I received the book on 1/20/20.

The Good:
The overall plot was intriguing and made me want to read this book. The locale, Scotland, was a nice change. I loved Gabby’s strength and fortitude. She is a very successful surgeon with a genius I.Q. 😁 I was captivated by each of the Campbell brothers, but Brodrick’s love for and commitment to his daughter sold me on the story. I’ve read a few of the author’s previous works, and she writes some of the most evil and vilest villains. Although the ending was fairly predictable, I didn’t mind. It ended the way I needed it to end.
The Very Bad:
This short book (less than 200 pages), had far too many major editing issues. Run-on sentences, incorrect punctuation, misspelling of Marc and Brodrick only sentences apart from each other and extra words were quite prevalent and glaring. Further, wrong homophones were used several times. Also, I just wish authors would learn the difference between “your” vs. “you’re.” This drives me insane! In this book, for instance, “You’re betrayal,” blah, blah blah is just wrong. Did anyone finish 6th grade and beyond???? Sorry, there is no excuse for shoddy work such as this. My God, I don’t need any clever program to correctly edit this book, or any book for that matter—I just need to read it.
I was really excited by this new series, but the flames of my enthusiasm were effectively doused by this atrocious editing. Accordingly, I’m undecided about whether I will complete the series.
Very good read about a brooding Scot farmer and a surgeon, who is fighting to stay alive from a psychotic boyfriend. Fate bought them together, by way of a family member. Great storyline and loved the brothers and other characters that had their backs through this journey to find love.

One and done with this series. The romance isn’t dark. I’m assuming the darkness is referencing the serial killer? Insta-love with zero heat or chemistry. I’m really supposed to be believe that after 5 minutes of glaring and thinking the worse of Gabby, he all of a sudden feels something for her? Yeah okay. Set in Scotland but no Scottish dialect. Lass was thrown in there a couple of times to remind us but other than that - this story could have taken place in any city in the USA. Gabby has been on the run from this serial killer and she changed her name. Her real name is Gabrielle. She. Changed. Her. Name. To. Gabby. To. Protect. Her. Identity.
Don’t most women named Gabrielle/a go by Gabby??? Like seriously?! Not much thought was pity into that.
Ainsley was cute.
Everything moved super fast. A lot of telling of what happened instead of having the actual dialog and action happen on the page between the characters.
Still don’t know how this romance happened between Brodrick and Gabby.
We actually got a Spongebob ....3 hours later...moment except it was a couple of weeks later
Rushed ending with a summary of events given to us by the now Gabrielle.
Please don't get me wrong. The plot was one of the best in recent times. I'm just tired of decent authors rushing to get to the end. Readers deserve to have the stories told. Reading a book is a pleasure for the reader and should be see as an honor for the author because people gift the writers with something that is so valuable - their time. Respect them by not rushing or summarizing the ending. You're amazingly gifted to come up with this plot. The story deserves better than a rushed ending.
T.C. you’ve done it again your book’s never disappoint. I can’t wait for Coles story. If you have never read T C series of the books, you are so lucky, because you have all the other books to look forward to. The downside for me is that there is only one book a month not two. Thank you T C Clark we appreciate your body of work.
Nicely Done And I Can Not Wait Until The Next Installment...
I do not recall what I expected before beginning this book, but it was not this. I really enjoyed the suspense and strong characters. I have questions that may perhaps be revealed in Brodrick’s brothers’ stories regarding Ansley’s progress and Gabrielle’s future. Has she given up her talents for her family or will she resume them now that she does not have to run any more?
Gabby already had a promising career as a surgeon but a relationship with a mad man derails it and she must stay on the move if she wants to live. She ends up in Scotland and tries to fight her attraction to Brodrick and his daughter, to insure her past doesn't decide to show up.
I really enjoyed reading this book but I would say that it spent a lot of time on Jessica and helping tate .It seems like as soon as gabby and brodrick find their happiness then the devil shows up and the story is over .I loved all the characters in this book I can't wait to read cold book next
The idea and plotline of the story is good. If you're trying to hide maybe changing your first name may help. Grabby is a nickname for Gabrielle, not a stretch there and going somewhere that you can't blend in doesn't help.
This book left me on the edge of my seat so so good very great romance I almost almost read it in one day it’s just that hard to put down a great story!!
"Brodrick" was a great read. He was a man who didn't trust women, thanks to his baby mama, and beautiful Gabby fell right into that category, despite the instant attraction he felt for her. Throw in three hunks for brothers, angelic daughter, and a serial killer, you get T.C. Clark at her best!
Great read by a great author. Brodrick and his daughter Ansley are too cute. Love all the brothers Cole, Liam, and Tatum. Gabby is on the run from a serial killer but has a final request she must fulfill before she runs again. It is in Scotland where she meets her true mate, Brodrick. 4 awesome stars
Hmm. If you like romantic suspense, this one’s for you! I’m fascinated by the criminal mind and TC Clark’s story makes you think! Also, the heroine is spunky and deeply addicted to the braw hero which makes for yummy chemistry.
Style: Romance (Interracial) Story: 4/5 Sexual: OK Enjoyment: 2/5 Series: Book 1
Smh, listen, this is why I rate books based on story and enjoyment. Story was good, execution, not so good, hence, my enjoyment a 2 rating.
This story is 148 pages, I felt it had way too many details because Brodrick and Gabby didn’t have that much time together in my personal opinion. Even the serial killer have space for thoughts in the book. By page 78 I wanted to give up. I kept going for Ansley, such a sweetheart.
The other issue, dark. Dark shouldn’t be in the title. I think dark was in reference to the serial killer, but maybe my interpretation of dark is off.
Overall, it really is a good story that could have been more but I didn’t feel I got enough time with Brodrick and Gabby which did not give me a connection to them.
***I don’t equate these stories to real life. It’s definitely about personal taste and what you would or want to tolerate with the stories you read. I hope this review was helpful.
I quite enjoyed this, but I had some issues. Let me start with the main one before I forget. Only bc it drove me nuts. I'm very confused about the whole Gabby/Gabrielle alias situation. I understand the big difference between Taylor and Winchester, but why did she keep saying her name was Gabrielle, NOT Gabby, as if there was such an enormous difference between the two? Don't a lot ppl with the name Gabrielle end up going by Gabby? I would've understood if she'd said, "Gabby isn't my real name it's Katherine or Helga... hell, anything but the actual name that Gabby is the short version for. That part just made no sense to me.
I love that aside from their personal hangups, they both knew that they wanted each other. The only issue was the lack of chemistry that I felt. Perhaps it's bc they went from barely knowing anything about each other to having sex to being in love. The way time moved was weird. One page it felt or implied that significant time had lapsed then the next chapter it stated that only days had passed. I loved how caring the Campbell family were and overall, I liked the characters. I will definitely be reading more about these boys.
Brodrick and Gabby both had certain feelings about one another from the start
Brodrick was a man, who have been with a woman who was after his money. Gabby was an intelligent Doctor, who was on the run for two years from her sociopath ex Boyfriend Marc. Marc was a serial killer who enjoyed torturing and killing women. Gabby find out about Marc dark obsession. She try to stop him. But, He broke out of jail and chased Gabby wherever she went. He killed everyone who got between him and Gabby. Gabby met the single father Brodrick. They didn't hit it off right away. But, they both realize they were both attracted to each other. Brodrick fell hard for Gabby. She told him about her past with Crazy Marc. He decided Gabby belonged to him and he was not letting her go. Marc founded Gabby. Gabby at the end killed Lunatic Marc. I really enjoyed this book. I loved Brodrick and Gabby story. This is my book first time reading from this author. This is a must read. I looking forward for Book 2 Cole' s story.
The story line is fabulous. The characters well thought out. Gabby, considering what she has been through is amazingly kind, empathetic. She is just lovely. Even Broderick could not withstand her personality. Broderick is a gruff stern Scotsman with a soft heart. We also meet his lovely daughter, Ansley as well as his brothers, an FBI Agent, and Aleks from the previous series. But a very vicious, clever and psychopathic killer is after Gabby. His trail of murder and mayhem practically puts this story in the dark genre. It's a thrilling read. However I felt having read this book to the end and started the story of 'Cole' that it may have been better to add more of the opening of 'Cole' to near the end of 'Broderick'. Then added the 'six months' later' section. I just felt a little cheated at the end of Broderick as he a r the end of this story, we read of Gabby's final t thoughts as the vehicle plummets down the hill. Then six months later we read of her fit and well.
This is my first time reading a book by this author. I'm happy to say I wasn't disappointed. This book had romance, family drama, and a serial killer nipping at the heroine's heels.
Gabby was working as a nurse at a hospice facility when she grew attached to a cancer patient named Jack. Before he died, she agrees to handle the inheritance he intends to leave for his daughter. Helping Jack means getting involved with his family, the Campbells. Gabby feels a particularly strong connection to Brodrick Campbell, but she needs to be careful because an ex-boyfriend is stalking her and could hurt the Campbell family if she gets too close.
I loved seeing the relationship between Gabby and Brodrick develop in spite of them both having issues from their past. The threat lingering over Gabby's life and resolving the family drama led them to opening their hearts and trusting each other.
I was rooting for Gabby to be free of the burdens weighing her down and for her to get the HEA she deserved. I can't wait to read the other books in the series.
This book jumped more places than a rabbit. Every time there was a good moment that I really wanted the story to dive into, it would leap forward. And there was little to no showing in this story and just telling. Gabby deserved an Oscar for her monologue of how her and Marc’s relationship came to be him hunting her across the world! Sis went on for 2 full pages as one paragraph. But with all that being said, I still liked this book. I was vibing with the woman on the run from her serial killer ex-boyfriend and stumbling into love with a Scotsman in the middle of nowhere. Could this story have been flushed out more? Yes and more yes. But did it read like some weird soap opera like episode that somehow still captured my attention even though the twist and turns were happening so fast I was getting reader whiplash? Yes, and I still liked it. This is just a good quick read for when you trying to meet that reading goal, but still want a little romance and murder. 🔪💔
