“So, you are back again for another adventure.” I sit on the sand, my back leaning against one of the large stones supporting the great pyramid of Giza. I extended one leg and raise the other. I take a deep breath and pinch the top of my nose. “I know, I know, you will say I messed up, that I was arrogant and should have listened to Rupert. You think it was a mistake to wake the four horsemen, but you know what… I disagree.”
I push on the ground and stand, raising my voice. “I did my best to ensure our survival. Yes, the threat is not over, and we are now facing an immortal enemy, but I gave us more time. No? Stop looking at me like that,” I order, shouting those last words.
“The world gets to see another day. You get to see another day, and I promise you that I will do everything within my power, so the days never end.” I exhale with a gush of frustration. “I wish I could say that I will die for you, but we both know that my death means the end of everything. I am willing to go there, though. You have already seen what I am more than willing to do for your survival, and how far I would go for you. We can do this. We can save Earth,” I say with determination, though a few tears manage to escape.
I quickly wipe my tears and force a smirk upon my face. “I think it’s time to visit another planet and find some answers, but the real question is, how do you think I will save us? Or do you still believe that we will all die?”

About the author

Moud Adel

Moud Adel is an Egyptian author who lives in France. His mother tongue is Arabic, and his daily language is French. Yet, he insists on writing his fantasy stories in English, using Arabic only when writing poems. When asked about why he doesn’t write in Arabic, which has come up a few times, his answer is always the same because he can express himself better in English. However, on separate occasions, he can also be found debating the beauty of the Arabic language and how rich with words it is. He claims that every emotion can be better described in Arabic for the sole reason that his birth language has more word variations that touch on every feeling.
Confronted by his contradiction, Moud claims that both answers are correct. He says that his home language, while indeed rich with words, is better suited for reaching into his own heart. That when it comes to fantasy, Arabic becomes more of a cliché and makes his words feel more like satire. And since he loves fantasy with every ounce in his soul, he will accept only what does it justice.

Picking up where Invasion left off, John must now face a new threat—one that he himself has unleashed. Once again, he will have to use his skills and powers to defeat them, aided only by two ancient aliens. But while engaging his new enemies, he soon finds out that not everyone is to be trusted, and some are even worse monsters than the one he is facing.

Much like the previous book, the story is pretty straightforward except for a slight twist: John has to save the world from his own mistakes. But unlike Invasion, this one goes straight to the fight, which is nice.

The drama did not sell for me. I could not feel any spark of emotion, especially sadness, among the scenes that were supposedly sad. I enjoyed the battle scenes much more, particularly in the first half of the book.

Wilma, John’s love interest, got an expanded screen time and role here. However, I find her character rather lacking in personality. Her scenes are quite boring, though not that much that I’ll put down the book. There are several new characters who have more personality than Wlma, including the angels. Even John himself has better characterization

But despite these flaws, the narrative and worldbuilding is excellent. I did not find them boring, and I wished more of the different planets were shown and explained further.

Overall, this is a must-read sequel.

💖💖💚 Very entertaining !

( REMINDER OF THE EARTHGUARDIANS SERIES : In Egypt, John, 16, was trained in the greatest secret to perfect his training as "Guardian or the Earth").

BOOK TWO :

After having lived in secret in the Dordogne Valley, in France, and after having lived with Wilma, John finds himself drawn into new adventures in Sweden.

He absolutely has to protect the planet Earth at all costs...

------------

A very great continuation of the adventures of the Earth Guardian John, struggling with alien invaders.

Alien robots, witch, archangels, epic battles : an absolutely UNIQUE read!

I recommend.
