The Teenage Diary of Jahanara is a historical fiction children's book based on Princess Jahanara, the eldest daughter of Emperor ShahJahan.

This fictional diary recreates the drama of ambition, intrigue and loyalty that marked the Mughal empire at the height of its glory.
It begins with twelve year old Jahanara giving us the insights of their life in exile when Prince Khurram (ShahJahan) has fallen out of favor with Emperor Jahangir, the bond between her and her siblings Dara, Aurangazeb, Roshanara and Shuja, glimpses of the court of Emperor Jahangir, her inclination towards religion and poetry from childhood and much more. We get to read about her journey of five years from their exile in Mandu to Agra when ShahJahan became the emperor in 1628.
We also get to read about Mumtaz Mahal and her bond with her children and NurJahan and her power over the empire.

Beautifully written, definitely enjoyed reading it😍
