Radical Feminism Today offers a timely and engaging account of exactly what feminism is, and what it is not. Author Denise Thompson questions much of what has come to be taken for granted as `feminism′ and points to the limitations of implicitly defining feminism in terms of `women′, `gender′, `difference′ or `race//gender//class′. She challenges some of the most widely accepted ideas about feminism and in doing so opens up a number of hitheto closed debates, allowing for the possibility of moving those debates further.
I found Radical Feminism Today by Denise Thompson a fantastic read. Every paragraph helped me to clarify, question, and better understand feminism and the criticisms people throw at feminists and what is thought to be feminism in general. I will be returning to this book again and again.
‘Radical Feminism Today’ was first published in 2001, but many of the issues that Thompson addresses are still very relevant today. It is an excellent analysis of radical feminism and its challenges to male domination. Highly recommend it. Here is my blog post about it: http://mairivoice.femininebyte.org/
This woman is a genius. I agree with every single one of her statements, and her style of writing is so eloquent, beautifully structured, and to the point. I even read all the notes after each chapter to make sure not to miss any of her writing, which I never do, as I usually find them boring and decide that if they're unimportant enough to not be included in the actual text, they're unimportant enough I can skip them. I adore Denise Thompson!!!! 🩷😭🥹💕💖💞🙏🤸🤸🪷🥺
