A sunken treasure. A dangerous enemy. An action-packed thrill ride..… The discovery of a 13th-century shipwreck loaded with golden relics was meant to be the highlight of Archer’s treasure hunting career. But his lucky find quickly turns deadly, when Archer and his new fiancé, Rosalina, find themselves under attack from a dangerous black-market antiquities hunter with killer instincts and funds to burn.
Rosalina had already killed a man who’d attacked them over the treasure. She’d thought that would be the end of her constant fear. She was so, so wrong.

Searching the 700 year old shipwreck, The Flying Seahorse was a challenging but enjoyable past-time, but Rosalina would be glad when Jimmy was able to accompany Archer again on the dives. Jimmy and Alessandro had been wounded so severely they’d both spent some time in hospital recovering from surgery. But Jimmy was keen to rejoin Archer – the lure of the treasure was great. It was twenty years since his father had died, and Archer was passionate about continuing his father’s work. He hoped they would finally retrieve everything that had been lost…
But once again there was trouble on the horizon – someone whom Archer had come up against many years prior had learnt what they were doing and was trying to muscle in on his search. The danger to everyone on board his luxury yacht Evangeline was immense – would Archer and Jimmy be able to keep Rosalina, Helen, Ginger and Alessandro safe?
Archer and Rosalina were completely unaware of it, but they were also in danger from someone from their more recent past – what would be the outcome? Was the treasure from The Flying Seahorse worth their lives?
Treasured Lies is #2 in the Treasured trilogy, and another great addition! Aussie author Kendall Talbot has an excellent mix of romance and spine chilling suspense throughout this book, though the tension isn’t quite as intense as the first, Treasured Secrets. I’m really looking forward to Treasured Dreams which is due out in a few weeks, to conclude this intriguing and gripping trilogy. Highly recommended.
This is such a great series and Kendall Talbot really knows how to keep her readers on the edge of their seats in the most stunning locations, with fabulous strong characters that are easy to get to know come along for the second one in this series and have some more exciting and dangerous times with Archer, Rosalina along with their friends to find the treasure lost at sea over 700 years ago.
Archer and Rosalina have finally found the treasure that Archer’s father had been looking for, the 13th century shipwreck is theirs and it is filled with the most beautiful golden relics, it takes a while for them to get the load on the beautiful yacht Evangeline and Rosaline is glad that Jimmy is finally able to help and Alessandro as well after recovering from being injured and spending time in hospital, having everyone together is cause for celebrations or will history repeat itself and trouble return?
Archer is wary and with good reasons as someone from his past is doing his best to take what is not his and again this puts the woman he loves in danger as well as the his friends Jimmy, Alessandro, Ginger and his mother who are there for him, they have already been through this type of thing before and no one is going to take what they don’t deserve without a fight.
This is an action packed story, danger at every turn lots of suspense and of course a gorgeous setting and as well a beautiful romance, I really love Archer and Rosalina they are so suited to each other their romance sizzles. I loved this one as much as the first one and am really looking forward to the third book to see what happens next when they all go looking for another treasure haul will past enemies re-surface? Or will new ones find that they want the haul without the work to get it? I do highly recommend this one.
My thanks to the author for my copy to read and review.
TREASURED LIES is a sequel to the edge of the seat adventure Treasured Secrets which I read and enjoyed mid last year. That story was based around the romance between Rosalina and Archer as they sorted their lives out and did battle over treasure with the villain of the story, Nox – a vile, horrible, evil, creepy and truly unlikable person. This story picks up a few weeks after Treasured Secrets finishes and it turns out from the opening line of TREASURED LIES that this odorously malevolent human being is not dead after all. But I have to confess though for a very small while (a couple of pages) I actually felt sorry for everything that author Kendall Talbot threw at Nox – I mean he really deserved it he is a very nasty person, and at first I cheered the author on as she really went to town on him (reminder – never write a bad review for this author – she knows how to punish) but yes, there was this one brief time that I though poor Nox – the sympathy didn’t last long!! It just demonstrates the writing talent that Kendall has that enables to enables me to feel any sympathy for a very horrible person.
TREASURED LIES is less about the relationship between Rosalinda and Archer and more on Treasure Hunting – and just how cut throat it all is. The setting is fantastic, wafting over the Mediterranean Sea on a yacht with good food and wine. Then leisurely diving in clear waters and carting treasures back to the surface. You would think that with Nox busy elsewhere all this treasure hunting should be a doddle! Not so, there is another evil treasure pirate in the area, Ignatius, and he is rich, brutal and doesn’t play fair!!
Summed up, TREASURED LIES has everything that you need in a good book, romance, suspense, adventure, conflict, laughter, explosions and drama, I am looking forwards to seeing what happens next as the ending is obviously open ended.
With thanks to Escape Publishing and the author via Netgalley for my copy to read and review
Adventure. Romance. Action. Suspense. This book has it all! The race for the treasure continues in Book Two. The twists, turns and thrills keep on coming right up to the cliffhanger ending. I cannot wait to read what happens next!
In ‘Treasured Lies’ we meet Rosalina and Archer right from were ‘Treasured Secrets’ ended. Rosalina and Archer are trying to go on after the fight with Nox, the villain who was after the same treasure. Now they are engaged and finally have been able to find the treasure Archer’s father died for all those years ago. Since Archer’s friend and fellow diver, Jimmy was hurt badly after the fight with Nox, Rosalina is now helping Archer with diving for the treasure. But unfortunately, even with Nox gone, there are still other people who are trying to get their hands on the treasure. And soon Rosalina and her friends are in danger once again.
What I really loved about the first book ‘Treasured Secrets’, was the way that book took place in so many different countries. There was romance, there was adventure.. that book seemed to have it all. ‘Treasured Lies’ goes on right from were the first book ended and immediately I felt like I was back in the story and never left. The romance between Rosalina and Archer continues. At times it even became hotter than the first book. But there were also a view hard moments between them. Moments were Rosalina had trouble believing Archer motives. Something I completely understood since Archer broke her heart when he kept so many secrets from her in the previous book. But it sure was fun reading about those two.
The treasure hunt is still pretty intense. One villain is down, but now there is another one who also wants to have the treasure Rosalina and Archer found. This villain definitely was responsible for a view terrifying moments. And he really doesn’t play fair. Although there was less travel in this book I still really enjoyed the story. I just love the two main characters Rosalina and Archer. And the treasure hunting part in this series is just really fun to read about. It’s intense, terrifying and definitely frustrating at times.. but I love reading it.
‘Treasured Lies’ is another awesome book. The writing is easy to read and it definitely makes for a fun and cozy read.
I received an ARC of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
I read Treasured Secrets, and I truly enjoyed that book. I love the adventure, the love story, and the villains that got in the way of the main characters. It's no surprise that I'd read this book too, since it is a continuation of Archer and Rosalina's story. I really liked them in Treasured Secrets, mostly because I like second chance love stories.
In this book, the conflict isn't really about their feelings or their relationship. I think after Treasured Secrets, it was already a given that they were in love and belonged together. However, their happy ending keeps getting sidetracked. Villains don't die. Just like in movies, the villains always live to see another day, always get another chance to hurt the main characters.
Like the first book, I also really enjoyed Treasured Lies. Everything that you need in a good book is here, romance, adventure, conflict, drama, they're all present. This is one book that'll surely give any reader a good time, especially if a reader is looking for a story with the right amount of thrill and suspense and a whole lot of treasure hunting.
She seduces you with sumptuous food and then takes you diving in the most incredible places...I could be talking about Ms Talbot or Rosalina from Treasured Lies, but the result is the same - a book I couldn't put down until I'd finished it. And even then I wanted more...
A brilliant, suspenseful tale that appeals to all your senses and makes you want to cook, go diving and treasure hunting (or at least visiting the museums where some of the finds are displayed) the moment the story's over.
Treasured Lies #2 - As interesting as Secrets was, Lies tops it. Full of adventure, action, danger and new characters made this an even more difficult book to put down. A robust tapestry woven from the old and the new storylines blended with new characters and strengthened by vivid descriptions from this talented writer brings to life the hardships, surprises, pains and joys experienced by all.
There is romance, some shocking. There are some weird and some beautiful supporting characters that a richness in happenings and a expansive range of emotions. I was almost lulled into believing a person could change. 5*
Treasured Secrets #1 - This is my first read by this author and I enjoyed it immensely. There are multiple storylines that range over a period of time and lay the foundation to this series. This book does not end in a cliffhanger but there are two more books.
The story is well written and the author has a laid back, easy to read style. The pace is continuously eating up the pages that keep the reader immersed and involved until the end.
The main characters are well developed and their mature dialogues are realistic. There are a couple of quick sex scenes and rare vulgar language, for those who care about this information. Written sex is boring and I don't care for vulgar. I contacted the author to review her books. 4*
Treasured Dreams #3 - This book picks up five weeks after Lies ends. After the rollercoaster ride that Lies was, this is a nice relaxing walk in the park, but there is still plenty of adventure between its covers. There is fun, excitement and surprises with another treasure hunt. Family is important but difficult to handle in a couple cases and Nonna tells the truth about the family in the end, surprising Rosalina again. Quickly read but entertaining. 4*
Breathless Encounters - This is a collection of short stories, which have a paragraph at the end of each explaining the source of their inspiration. Well written and quickly read in one sitting. Perfect for a coffee break or a cuppa and a snuggle with a fur baby. 5*
The Blue Diamond - It is not what she, or her step-siblings, think it is, but she thanks her Poppa for everything he left her. Stolen Love - Beautiful story but so sad. Creepy Neighbor - Disguised, a hidden blessing. The Plumbers Secret - A cute beginning to a sweet romance. Delightful. Charlie’s Angel - The beginning of the romance of the parents of the author. Breathless Encounters end.
From the first chapter of Treasured Lies (Treasure Hunters #2) by Kendall Talbot I knew that this would be a tense nail-biter contemporary romantic thriller just like the first book had been. While the villain in the first book had been vile he had neither the money nor the power that this new villain does. So now there is new danger when the old danger is not completely resolved. Wow.
The diving treasure hunt and suspense take precedence over the romance in this story. That is okay with me because Rosalina and Archer belong together, working together as they are in this story. Jimmy, Helen, Ginger and Alessandro round out the supporting cast. Characters I have learned to love along with Archer and Rosalina. Besides the remarkable suspenseful edge to the story, the story come to life with descriptions of the colorful and lush as the underwater diving scenes and the surrounding Greek Islands.
This Treasure Hunters Series is one that should be read in order. Treasured Lies begins soon after the first book, Treasured Secrets finishes. In fact the beginning chapter may be confusing for some who had not read the first book thought reading on would clear up much of that. Since this trilogy does seem to be written as a continuation of one larger story, I highly suggest they be read in order. Much of the first book is Archer dealing with his past while this one has him more in his rightful element. Treasured Lies is an incredible read that continues the high octane ride of the first book. Now I can’t wait to read the third!
The publisher/author gave me a complimentary ARC of the book which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Our team finds a treasure they have been seeking for years. Now the challenge is holding onto it.
This is book two in the series. The book is written as a standalone and does well in the regard. There are past events that are discussed in broad strokes, but nothing essential to this story.
This book fits into my ideal of a romantic suspense story, a story filled with action and adventure with a dose of romance on the side brought on by the perilous adventure. This story is all that with an intriguing plot full of twists and turns, clues revealed and puzzles solved. This one did not have as much mystery as the first book, but there is still some and plenty of action. The characters are well developed with solid and distinct personalities, including some definite flaws in the form of tunnel vision. And the bad guys in this story are really bad and our heroes (and heroines) don't seem to know how to combat this, which is rather frustrating. Overall, a highly enjoyable story and I am definitely looking forward to the next book in this series.
Highly recommended.
I received an ARC from the author for review purposes.
I love how this book has action and adventure and romance and mystery. It's very interesting how it just keeps on coming. Everything starts out swell and then things take a dramatic turn and old mysteries come to light. It keeps you on your toes which is always a bonus. I felt kind of bad for Nox. I mean, obviously he was a horrible person but he did have a rough start to life. That said, he's the kind of guy who makes it difficult for you to feel sorry for him. It puts me in mind of the phrase "evil never dies." I think that the story shows us that despite the dilemmas, Archer and Rosalina belong together - and they overcome obstacles well, while discovering treasures. While this book does feature romance, it's not over the top and I think that it is more believable in how the couple interacts with one another. Even between Ginger and Rosalina and Archer and Alessandro. Definitely an interesting series.
Greed again who can they trust and who is living in a dream of his own making
And so the search begins then Iggy shows up again shattering the chance to fulfil his life dream of finishing his dads search for the treasure. He had his love if his life back Rosaline will support him to the end, his mum who he thought long dead now on the boat with them and his best friend Jimmy and Rosas friend Alessandro along with the questionable cook Jimmy hired Ginger who had latched on to Alex like a limpet. There are at least two story’s going on here as everyone thought Nox had died yet was rescued by some strangers and his fight to get back home to claim the treasure he said was rightfully his. This is another exciting story true love engagements fighting and death. Again I recommend this book and I’m off to get the next adventure that I’m sure won’t go easy either lol
There are bad guys, and then there are Bad guys. The author gives us both! I enjoyed that the book picked up right were book 1 ended and we learn the fate of the original cast of characters, as the story continues (there are more after this one!). The story carries on and while we've seen the last of a few people, we get introduced to a few more. I'll admit there is a character or two that has me giving them a little side-eye: are they on the side of good, or the side of evil? I love that she keeps me guessing and changing my mind. But that's not even the thrill of the main story. There is, after all, treasure to be found and recovered and they are not the only ones that want it. Love and the briny smell of the sea are in the air as Archer and Rosa and the rest of the team have much to discover and recover. Will everyone survive this next installment?
Another fun, interesting treasure hunting premise! Plus, more passion and romance between Archer and Rosalina. Archer, Rosalina, and the others have found treasure and are trying to keep it a secret. Unfortunately, a vicious competing treasure hunter causes major problems for them. Also, unhinged Nox is still on the loose. I could’ve done without so many Nox POV chapters; a bit boring and slowed the story down. Still not a fan of Ginger or Jimmy, and not loving Alessandro either. Rosalina and Archer have great chemistry, but Rosalina doesn’t like how obsessed Archer seems about treasure hunting, so that causes some contention. Archer is in for some major surprises! More story to be told in the next book; looking forward to it!
I'm not sure what it is about this book but I didn't love it. There was far too much of Nox's story for me - he's the bad guy, I don't need to know his every thought - would have been more suspenseful if we didn't know what he was up to the whole time as I'm sure he'll catch up with our main characters, who think he's dead, at some point in the next few books. I'm also not really feeling the romance between Archer & Rosalina - their relationship just seems a bit meh to me - I want passion but it's just not there. I have the rest of the series on my Kindle but, seeing as it took me ages to finish this one, I'm not feeling the urge to find out what happens right now - I'm sure I will come back to it at some point in the future.
The adventure continues from Treasured Secrets, and we learn more about the main characters, their relationships and their stories. Kendall does a good job weaving the story and she also takes us through some lovely locales as well as the story continues to unfold. The "crew" is busy finding and mining an ancient treasure, but the baddies and their cronies are not far away. One of the antagonists is really hard to eliminate and won't stop. Lots of adventure, intrigue, exotic places, interesting characters and fun reading. I definitely recommend this book and the series through Books 1 & 2.
This second book in the series finds Archer and Rosa coming closer to the fabulous Calimala treasure, and closer to the secret of Archer's tragic childhood. Also within the story, we follow Nox, the crazed priest, who was thought to be killed by a spear through his torso, but miraculously survives. Nox is met with pain and fear, but somehow overcomes all that comes his way. This story has lots of exciting adventure, stunning riches, and beautiful romance. My only problem is that I did skip the better part of one of the chapters because I just don't do erotica. Overall, the book is great and I look forward to the other tales in the series
Sunken Treasure in The Greek Isles This adventure will keep you on the edge of your seat with all of the twists and turns. The story picks up where the first book left off. It also ends at the beginning of the next adventure. Seven hundred-year-old treasure is sitting at the bottom of the ocean, waiting to be found. There are many wanting the treasure and they don't care who has it, they will get it. The plot of this adventure is busy! There are exciting finds, gruesome attacks, nature's beauty, and love. This book is great, the series is a wild ride. Indiana Jones, step aside!
Treasured Lies is the second book in the Treasure Hunters series and is an action-packed romantic suspense novel.
I am loving this series. The characters are intelligent and likable. The story captured my interest from the start (with a glimpse of Nox) to the finish (which I won't tell you). This book has it all: danger, drama, suspense, secrets, intrigue, international locations, and romance.
I cannot wait to see what happens for Archer and Rosalina in the next book in this series. I read and reviewed this book with no obligation.
This second book in the series is just as good as the first. I do like the idea of searching for treasure and diving to find it at sea. It must be wonderful to bring up artefacts and know they have been hidden safe for so long and have so much history. The story brought that to life. Also that there are always some wicked people who are not altruistic but are just full of greed and care nothing for history and sharing knowledge for the good of all.
Oh my goodness I felt so sorry for Nox this time around and I wanted to know more about the twins. I feel that there are some surprises coming up in the next book based on this one.
Kendall is such an easy author to read and keeps you engrossed in the story and you really want to binge read her books.
The author gave me a free copy of this book but this in no way infleunced what I wrote - really enjoyed it.
This is the second addition in this series. Archer continues his exploration of the sunken ship and its treasure in Greece. Rosalina is by his side and helps with the hunt. Their enemies Nox and Ignatius both feel the treasure belongs to them. The book keeps your interest and I want to read the next one in the series
Thank you to Kendall Talbot for sending me me Treasured Lies the second book of the series. Again another can't put down book following Treasure Hunter Archer on his quest to find treasure which his dad had searched for many years before. With lots of twists and turns along the way it leaves the reader wanting more. A well deserved five stars.
The story and the adventure continues in Kendall Tablot’s second installment of the series. It isn’t necessary to read the first book in the series in order to read Treasured Lies, but I found it very helpful. It lays out the foundation and backstory of Archer and his mother, as well as the character Nox.
The book alternated chapters between what was happening on board the Evangeline with Archer and Rosalina as they search for Calimala treasure with what was happening to Nox, who did indeed survive his injuries and is out for revenge.
Archer and Rosalina are now engaged, and they have their full crew set up in the Greek Islands back at the very spot where the catastrophic attack had happened. With all that had happened, it drew a lot of media attention and they are trying to fly under the radar quickly.
I liked the description of the characters sprinkled throughout the book. They each seemed to have their own spotlight moments, which I didn’t expect since the focal point is Archer and Rosalina and Alessandro. This brings a fullness to the secondary characters and makes them more well-rounded and a true part of the treasure hunt.
Helen – Archer’s mother
Helen rarely ventured from her bedroom. She barely did anything, for that matter; she was a tormented soul, trapped in a horrific past that now consumed her present. Jimmy – Archer’s right-hand man
From the moment Archer taught Jimmy how to dive, all that changed. Sure, he continued to enjoy the rum and the card playing, but once he’d experienced the pure tranquility of the ocean, Jimmy was a convert.
Jimmy was as steadfast as an old sea dog. His morals were built on dependability, backbone and loyalty. The only character that didn’t seem to have a share of attention was Ginger, the “cook” Jimmy hired in book one. As an interesting turn of events happens, Rosalina questions Ginger’s place onboard, and later so does Archer.
Some of the interactions between Archer and Rosalina I found odd, at least in the dialogue that they shared with one another. It wasn’t what I remembered from the first book, and seemed unnatural at times. The closeness and connection that they forged seemed to have lost its glimmer, even though they are newly engaged.
The more he looked at them, the more he realized these two men were not normal. Everything from their disheveled appearance, their foul stench and their lack of communication, led him to believe they hand’t lived a normal life. Meanwhile as chapters alternate, Nox seems to come back to life, although he is living through a version of his own personal hell. Frankly, he deserves every bit of it. The irony about him being stranded on an island and held captive did not elude me. The irony builds as he describes and condemns his island mates. It wasn’t unexpected, but the nerve of the man! When he, indeed, is probably more noxious than they. His name matches his personality to a T.
With a crazy man with a helicopter and a bucket load of money who was determined to get his hands on their treasure, reality had slipped into a horror movie. Archer’s deceased father plays a significant role in his life. He is the reason for everything Archer does, and also what haunts and torments him as well as Helen. As they work to uncover what is at the seafloor of the site where his father died, they are interrupted by his father’s nemesis: Ignatius Montpellier. Iggy is a man of seemingly limitless funds, an incredible reach and extension of power in various legal and political circles, and without any scruples whatsoever.
The plot is very fast-paced and doesn’t take a moment of pause, unless you count Nox’s chapters. As I didn’t like Nox at all, I quickly skimmed most of his chapters to get back to the Evangeline. I thoroughly enjoyed the treasure hunt and the discoveries they made. The discoveries and the history that Alessandro details or pieces together was exciting and heightened by the mystery surrounding some of the find. Not to mention the crazy, helicopter-loving Iggy chasing them down.
Two things that surprised me were the growth of Helen and Nox. Never would I believe Nox to come anywhere close to compassion, but he finds himself in an unusual situation where he could find himself staying. There was a lot more of his character shown in those short chapters than in the whole of the two books. Helen also grew as a character, coming out of her deep and traumatic shell. Although slowly at first, she ends up providing valuable information about Archer’s father and some of his treasure hunting history.
I found the ending fell flat for me. I was expecting the two storylines – divided by point of view in the chapters – to converge, and they never did. I was expecting more. Things were left on the back burner, as if they will surface fully in the next book. The final chapter of the book made it clear there would be another book.
I do recommend this book because of the adventure and the backstory that comes out about Archer’s father. There is so much more than what is just on the surface, and the crew is vigorously piecing together the inconsistencies of the past. Time is of the essence, especially with that bozo Iggy hot on their heels.
Very much enjoyed this book as my husband and myself hAve travelled the small coast while staying i. revolli. The book described it perfectly. This book has adventure, love, friendships and twists and turns to keep any reader onterested
I enjoyed this continuation of the adventure, mystery, romance, thriller that the first book delivered. I received this book as a complimentary review copy from the author in return for an honest review.
read this book before I had an account with Goodreads, but I want to leave my review now. It's the 2nd book of the series, and the very believable story continues to keep a reader glued to the book. Kendall Talbot's stories just keep getting better! And they are already 5 stars in my opinion!
A great story with constant action and the occasional moment that puts a smile on my face. The characters have me fully invested in the series, I think they were cats in a former life considering the trouble they keep getting into.
