SEASON ONE SLEEPING BEAUTY
#1 Queen of Dragons #2 Heiress of Embers #3 Throne of Fury #4 Goddess of Fire
Born in Leeds, I lived a very normal life until I got bored one day and decided to travel the world. Since then I've worked on a Banana Plantation, cleaned ACDC's dressing room and been a professional clown. I climbed to the bottom of the Grand Canyon and the top of Kilimanjaro. Nowadays you'll find me being a climbing frame for my two young children, working in a school, and renovating my home. Did I also mention I wrote some books? I hope you enjoy them! This one has a lot of the same problems as book 1. Namely, press? Media? In a medieval fantasy? Ugh! I still don't like Milo, and i still can't pinpoint why, other than that I like Caspian better. The dynamic between him and Azia is so much mor dynamic and interesting. Also, I didn't like the part she included Milo in when she promised not to. It's one thing to disobey her father, but that was too much in my opinion. Overall, I can't say i like Azia very much in this one especially. She made some very stupid choices, and to her own detriment too. But despite all that, it was a quick read and I was I intrigued. I will keep going with the series.
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
Just as amazing as the first book!!! The blooming romance, the forced engagement, meeting the king of the dragons and his cute baby girl, a tournament for love or for the throne.... With the queen once again under the sleeping curse the king is distraught. Princess Aziza (sp) is torn between doing as her father demands and getting what she wants. She does defy him a couple times but only to end up getting more questions then answers and huge trouble when she comes home. I am a little perplexed though, the fae character is intriguing. In most of my reading dealing with fae they never do anything without some sort of payment. Yet this fae character seems to be doing favors with no payment/agreement. Makes me wonder why he is there and what is he going to demand as recompense for his assistance in this perilous time. Cant wait for the next book! If you like sleeping beauty and dragons this is a wonderful merriment of the two worlds.
Sleeping Beauty is sleeping once again and Azia is convinced that the curse is somehow tied to her, meant for her. Her father has crumbled under the stress and is quickly losing the respect of his people. So now it’s up to her to set things right and prove that she is the leader that her people need. But that proves to be difficult when she comes to realize there’s a lot she doesn’t know. Not only about who she is, but about her roots and magic. Many secrets are being kept from her and with every little shred of information she gets more questions rise up. All the while there are two men wanting to marry her and they are not backing down.
A great continuation that gives us more glimpses into the complicated life of Azia. There are new characters being introduced and more stolen kisses. How is Azia going to get things settled in her kingdom, break the cure and what is she going to about this competition!
Wedding and marriage can't be less appealing to Azia now, and her mind is definitely occupied by other things. The sleeping beauty again sleeping under a curse. Magical spindles and witches that have to be long gone. A fae suitor acting like a total jerk. A guard slowly stealing her heart. A competition for the princess' hand. Amazing and eye-opening meeting with the dragon shifters, or strange meeting with the dwarves after being grounded for days. And old secrets about her adoption starting to unravel. Can Azia's life become even more complicated? Fast and light read, with lots of twists and turns, packed with drama and boiling emotions. The situation is a mess, heading into complete chaos, and the characters have their hands full with concerns and trouble. Relationships get complicated with each page. This spin-off of Sleeping beauty is a great story to read and relax, and I am already opening the next book.
The storyline is amazing. I love the uniqueness of it. It has a lot of action and drama throughout it. There are times I just want to smack Azia as she acts so immature. All she thinks about is I don’t want to get married. She is never thinking of the things she should as heir to the throne. It makes her seem like a spoiled brat at times. The first book I understood as she was getting information dumped on her. But, I expected her thinking to change just a bit but instead it to only turned the other way.
The story itself is unique and extremely intriguing. It is becoming more and more of a mystery that draws me in. It is extremely well written and other than what I have mentioned the characters are stunning. Their personalities are felt throughout the story. No matter how I think of Azia I throughly enjoyed the book. This is still an absolute must read
After reading Book 1 of this series, I was hoping for two things: 1) that the series would end and 2) that the language would leave out the inappropriate phrases and words. I was disappointed on both fronts. I won't be buying any more of the series. Having said that I thought the story was once again fun to read. The mystery of Azia's heritage continued, her romance with Milo progressed, the king's refusal to listen to Azia seemed just as unwise as always. But as I said the ending left a lot of things hanging. If you like the books and have a book budget that can handle it, I wouldn't discourage the purchase of this series.
The narrator, Melody Muzljakovich, did an excellent job both Book 1 and Book 2. That always adds to my listening pleasure.

This is Book 2 in the Kingdom of Fairytales: Sleeping Beauty. It is not a standalone book and you cannot read this series out of order or you will quickly be lost. Finally it ends on a cliffhanger.
It is a really enjoyable series - a wonderful MC in Azia, the daughter of Sleeping Beauty. Her mother has fallen under the sleeping curse again and the Kingdom is falling apart. It's up to Azia to try to help her beleaguered father with the help of dragons, dwarves, and a bit of magic. A captivating series and can't wait to see what Azia gets up to next.
The narrator, Melody Muzljakovich, is the narrator of the series and did a wonderful job.
I’m currently struggling to get into this series. It feels very much like there is TOO much going on in this poor girls life. There’s a lot to consider in a 100ish page book that just causes the brain to be a little overstimulated.
As a fantasy reader, I am also missing the world building. This book is very heavy on plot and lacking on descriptors. Tbh, I can’t even picture what Azia, Milo or Caspian look like.
I plan on continuing to read the series, but I am struggling to keep my attention focused on it.
Also, I know these are self published, but I have found a TON of punctuation errors in the 2 I’ve read so far. Nothing against the author, but I would suggest having an editor go over this series again.
I voluntarily review ARCs of the first four Kingdom of Fairytales books: Queen of Dragons, Heiress of Embers, Throne of Fury and Goddess of Flames. The books should be read in order. This is the story of Azia, the daughter of Sleeping Beauty. Azia has been kept in the dark about a lot, her arranged marriage, evil magic, dragons, her ancestry. She has to solve many puzzles and to fight many battles. There are so unexpected turns and new facts that keep the reader enchanted until the (almost) end. I love this new series and look forward to reading more about Azia and new characters in the next kingdom. Absolutely recommended.
From thinking of herself as a future queen to finding out she was a creature of magic and a the Queen of Dragons, things have been moving quickly for Azia.
With Briar Rose falling back to sleep as the curse of the sleeping beauty comes into force again, trying to fend of her fae suitor and generally trying to run a kingdom when her family falls apart, Azia has her hands full, specially because her father is not willing to believe her that the witch who cursed her mother is back.
Her journey of defining her destiny and finding her destiny continues in the second part of this series.
This is honest review and written at my own choice & discretion.
This is the second book in the sleeping beauty series and it begins right where the first one ended.
The queen is back under her curse and asleep. That leaves Azia left to deal with trying to solve a lot of problems since her dad is discombobulated. While the story is short, it is filled with dragons, dwarfs and shows Azia learning a key piece of information about her past.
I can't wait to finish the last two. They are not available on audible yet, so I will have to read the ebook.
I was given a free copy of this audiobook at my request from audiobooks unleashed, and have voluntarily left this review.
As her mother continues in her curse-induced sleep, Azia gets to know her suitors, searches for the witch she believes responsible for her mother's curse and meets the mountain dwelling "neighbors". There's plenty going on in this second act of the saga and it's an interesting story, but by the end, very little has been resolved. In fact, things just seem to keep on getting more complicated with a big new reveal at the very end of the book. If you like fairy tales, elves, dragons and "who should I pick" romance dilemmas and aren't in any hurry to get to the end of the tale, this is one you'll probably really love. The narration is very well done.
Sleeping Beauty is sleeping once more. Azia is convinced that the curse is somehow tied to her, meant for her. Her father has crumbled, so now it’s up to her. But that proves to be difficult! She comes to realize there’s a lot she doesn’t know. About who she is, about her roots. Many secrets are being kept from her.
This was really good. So well-written, in a more-ish way. Captivating, compelling, magical! The kind of story that you want to read as quick as you can and then feel sorry you’re at the end. I loved Nyre, the little dragon! So enthusiastic.
Azia is back in the second of J.A. Armitage’s pretty darn glorious retelling of the classic Sleeping Beauty fairy tale, Heiress of Embers (Kingdom of Fairytales: Sleeping Beauty Book 2). You want magic, a witch, a seer, dwarves (of course, they’re a “must” here) and dragons (you can’t have this sort of tale without dragons). You want a superb lead and cast in a truly well written tale? You got it here in this compellingly addictive story. I’m already drooling in anticipation of book 3 and, I’m the interim, can only highly recommend this book.
Sequel to Queens of Dragons, Heiress of Embers is the second book in Kingdom of Fairytales series by J.A. Armitage.
Azia's mother, Sleeping Beauty, was again curse and is sleeping again. And Azia thinks she's somewhat link to that curse. She need to figure out who she is. A lot of secrets is are hidding from her, and no one seems to really know where she came from that night when her parents adopted her.
Really loved this one and looking foward for more books in this serie. Thanks to J.A. Armitage for this arc.
I have been provided with a review copy of Heiress of Embers by the author for an impartial review. This is the second book in the brand-new Kingdom of Fairytales series and the second episode of four for the Sleeping Beauty Retelling. This continuation is the second week of Azia story. I just had so much fun getting to reenter this world. It’s just so easy to get lost in and I just didn’t want it to end. Oh my gosh the way it ended I immediately wanted more. I just absolutely love these characters and I can’t wait to read the next episode of this series.
This is the second book of four in the in the Season One of the Kingdom of Fairytales Sleeping Beauty Series, an intricate and original Sleeping Beauty's daughter story. You have to listen to this series in order. Azia's story continues where the first book left off. The storyline is captivating, and fast-paced. During Azia's quest, we learn a little more about her past. The story ends once again with a cliffhanger, and I am looking forward to listen to Throne of Fury, the next book in the Series. Melody Muzljakovich did an entertaining read of the story.
A great continuance to a very adventure and mystery filled story. More action, more questions and many more stolen kisses. This book was a gem to read and leads nicely into another book to come. Fantastic writing I only found my self question the story once and it was over a mushy pet name part (not my cup of tea) but all together still fit into the story and wasn’t too much. I’m excited to see where it goes next.
LOVED IT.....epic fantasy that is just long enough to read for busy people.
J.A Armitage has done it again. This series is seriously good and the characters she has created are great. Following the story of Sleeping Beauties daughter as she is being married off to a fae she can't stand.
Really looking forward to continuing this series and seeing what else Kingdom of Fairytales has in store for us.
This is the second episode in the Sleeping Beauty retelling part of the Kingdom of Fairy Tales series, and we watch as Sleeping Beauty is sleeping once again and Azia is convinced that the reason her mother is cursed again is because of her. With all the unexpected twist and turns that happen, I feel that the story just gets better and better. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book
All your favorite elements of fantasy, squeezed into break sized portions!
Book 1 set the stage and ended with a huge revelation, don't expect a resolution anytime soon. This is old school serial at its best. The story just gets more complicated and wow does this one end with a doozy of a cliff hanger.
The story moves along and develops well, and the cast is growing.
With Sleeping Beauty Asleep Again and her father out of Commission Azia has to take charge and find out whats going on and who she really is. Azia heads up the mountains to meet the dragons which is crazy. With exciting characters which include a witch, a seer, dwarves and of course dragons Azia's adventure is just beginning.
This feels like one large story cut into segments, but that’s ok, it makes for Easy reading. This may be based loosely on the sleeping beauty tale, but it’s a story all its own, just 18 years later, with her daughter... and dragons. Imbued with the feeling of the original fairytale, it flows in that almost innocent manner with a magical bite. So far, so good.
Damn this book had some twist I truly loved. first of all I love how gorgeous this purple cover looks like. Purple and dragons my favorites. second this book was sooooo amazing I read it in just a few hours. Already started book 3. The only minus thing is that these four books easily would have fitted in 1 book.
Quick, captivating read. I was hooked after the first, and this has me glad I ordered the third and fourth in advance! I adore that it is her OWN story line, while honoring and incorporating the fairy tale story so well. Knowing the story helps enhance the read, but these stories stand strong on their own without that knowledge. Can’t wait to read the other 50 books!
This story continues with its twists and turns, and another great cliffhanger. The stage is set for more intrigue as you try to connect characters to the developing plotlines. Really like the concept of releasing a little at a time.
This story just keeps getting better and better, the mysteries and unexpected twists and turns will keep you on edge and wanting for more; can't wait for next week's book!!! 😍💖
Azia's story continues as she tries to find a way to release her mother, Sleeping Beauty, from her newest slumber. Azia is a strong character full of spirit and good intentions even if those intentions may backfire.
This is a fantastic fairytale retelling - it is aquick read filled with action, suspence and magic. The characters are well developed and I absolutely love the world the author has created. Excited for more
Sometimes you need to be careful with what you wish for since it can have unintended consequences. Azia certainly has her work cut out for her. There is a huge secret revealed.
