Call me a buzzkill but after watching all of my friends and roommates succumb to the love virus, I’ve decided to sit this one out. Which isn’t as easy as it sounds.
If you’re looking for a ring, then all you attract are one-night stands. Girls who prefer to fly solo, you guessed it – we attract nothing but Mr. Will You Marry Me?
So I’ve been playing a little game. Seeing just how far I can go before I send these guys running for the hills. Doing crazy sh*t every day keeps the relationships away.
Except for one. No matter what I do, this guy just keeps showing up. Listening when I vent about work, remembering my fears and being annoyingly present when I don’t want to be alone. And all the crazy stuff I do doesn’t even faze him. In fact, I think he likes it.
Which is a problem. Because if I’m not careful, I just might get used to needing someone.
M. Malone is a NYT and USA TODAY bestselling author, a RITA® Award winner, and a member of RWA's Hall of Fame.
She lives with her husband and their two sons in the picturesque mountains of Northern Virginia even though she is afraid of insects, birds, butterflies and other humans.
Since starting her indie publishing journey she has sold over a million books and her titles have hit the NYT and USA Today bestseller lists more than a dozen times. She also holds a Master’s degree in Business from a prestigious college that would no doubt be scandalized at how she’s using her expensive education.
First of all, there is an underlying issue here that is deadly serious, and for that Ariana has my full support and empathy. However, the way in which Ari conducts herself with regard to the H is baffling and not well done. Vin is a TGTBT BF who declares his love for her after TWO YEARS apart, following Ari ditching him on their only date with no explanation and *before* any P in V action and it’s frankly given me a headache. I have read and enjoyed other books by this author so I was looking forward to this one. Probably an even thornier issue for me was being introduced to tertiary characters and situations (this book is part of a series that takes place within the same time & place) but without any real exposition. Some authors excel at weaving multiple character arcs across several volumes seamlessly, but that isn’t the case here. Mostly the reader is left wondering if there were entire sections that were missed or left out in editing. There is an HEA, but many things happen abruptly throughout and with little or no fanfare. [Update: I HAD read Mya & Milo’s story not long ago, BUT I recognized nothing about it in relation to this one other than the names seemed familiar. Make of that what you will.]
Loved this series and this book in particular! Fantastic!
Philippe 'Vin' Lavin meets Ariana in a bar one night. He sees her doing something crazy to get rid of unwanted attention from a guy. Vin, who is gorgeous, starts talking to Ariana, and after a while, they decide to go upstairs in the hotel and have a fling. Vin goes into the bathroom and when he comes out, Ariana is sound asleep on the bed. She looks tired, so he does the gentlemanly thing and leaves a note for her with his phone number. He thinks she'll call him, but he's upset when she doesn't. After that, they keep running into each other, and he keeps calling it fate. This book is lol funny, and also about hot chemistry, denied feelings, and a mystery reason underlying it all. I highly recommend you read this wonderful story about unconditional love! Beware! It will keep you awake at night because you won't want to out it down! 💟💟💟💟💟
Vin and Ariana are cute, funny and one of the best not really date couple ever, lol.... Vin worked with his brother Andre Lavin a famous fashion designer, but Vin was the person behind the scenes, in charge of everything else. He met Ariana at a bar, and knew they were fate, but on a date she ghosted him, he figured why but never saw her again for two year at his brothers wedding, marrying her roommate Casey. Anyway this story has quite a few twists. You will love it.
Beautiful story, I adored this story Ariana was herself with everyone and let her craziness out, she was funny and brilliant and her story was beautiful and heartbreaking.
My goodness Vin was everything the way he loved her, cared for her and made sure to be there for absolutely everything, he wasn't afraid to love and he was willing to help her through the toughest times just by being there. Swoon!
I was so happy to see them get their HEA I wish we could have more of them! They where the perfect couple.
Vin is so committed to his feelings for Adriana. She finally goes all in for him too. This was a joy to read, charming, passionate, sad and ridiculously happy. This story drags you through at fast speed!
She did have some great tactics for keeping the guys away; I was waiting in suspense on each and every one. And the real reason for the three stars. Loved Vin for never giving up, but I agree that overall, the book could have been better told. Entertaining enough.
Oh, Ariana…she has her secret and it makes her do everything she possibly can to push Vin away. But, he’s not going anywhere, no matter how crazy she acts. I loved this story so much!
