Tiny Goals: Small Steps toward BIG Success

Rate this book
Do you struggle with setting accomplishable goals you can see through to the finish line? Does anxiety or fear of failure keep you on an endless circuit of start, stop, start, stop until you abandon your goals entirely? Do you sometimes feel as if you’ll never accomplish anything?

I did too. For years, I tried and failed to keep my anxiety in check. Time and again, I would set goals for myself, whether for managing simple tasks or taking the next steps in my career, only to find myself paralyzed by anxiety and a fear of failure. I read self-help books that encouraged me to “just do it,” “just start,” and “be amazed at the results.” So, I tried. I set big, beautiful goals that never failed to excite me, but they also terrified me, and in the end, fear always won out. I found that, with such big aspirations looming over me, I couldn’t “just do it,” and I started to feel as if I would never accomplish anything in life. That’s when I decided to lean into the issues that were holding me back, because fighting against them was getting me nowhere.

I created Tiny Goals, a simple and undaunting system for getting things done.

With my Tiny Goals system, I prevent the crippling rise of anxiety and fear by setting realistic, easily accomplishable goals that steadily and surely drive me toward my ultimate desired endpoint. Not only is this system foolproof, it’s comforting, and if, like me, you struggle with anxiety, feeling comfortable in your work, tasks, and routines allows you to thrive and succeed when you would otherwise be too afraid to begin or to stick with it.

My Tiny Goals system has allowed me to accomplish more in a shorter amount of time than I ever dreamed possible, not only in my personal life but in my career. Since implementing this system, I’ve published multiple books, paid off student loans, traveled extensively, and even won a prominent screenwriting competition that led to the start of a career in TV writing.

Give this system a chance, and I’m optimistic it will help you accomplish and succeed too, because I’m not going to tell you to “just do it.” I’m going to tell you how.

Let’s get started!

K.L. Hughes

9 books483 followers
KL Hughes is an American poet and fiction author writing in multiple genres. Growing up in a small town of just over 1500 people, she spent much of her time inventing various ways to entertain herself as well as others. Whether it was through vocal performances of original children’s songs or theatrical re-enactments of books, movies, and actual events, Hughes showcased her extensive imagination and creativity at a very early age.
She began writing poetry at the age of nine, a passion that rapidly grew and expanded to include short stories, novellas, and eventually novels. Throughout elementary school and high school, Hughes won several contests and competitions focused in original poetry and short-story composition.
After graduating valedictorian of her high-school class, Hughes went on to pursue and earn a Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree in Theatre Arts and English Literature. Her collegiate studies allowed her to develop and hone her skills in poetry, playwriting, screenwriting, and fiction prose.
Working as a writer full-time, Hughes lives in the United States with her wife and their Dalmatian. When not writing, she enjoys theatre and film, travel, visits to old cemeteries and haunted houses, putting on one-woman musicals for her wife, long walks and hikes, and family time.
