From Fated Mate to Prey in One Day.Life isn’t easy for a runaway werewolf bride.
I was ready to build a family with Raymond, our pack’s alpha. Then I found out how he planned to use me to expand his empire. Female werewolves can produce litters, cute little werewolf puppies that quickly grow to adolescence, then shift to human.
Great way to expand the family, right? I thought it was a great idea. Until I saw what it cost the mother, a gradual fading of humanity and intellect. A price too much to bear.
Sure, I want babies, but strictly through human means.
Now I’m stuck in Tokyo, with no family or friends to help me. Hell, the only other English speaking supernatural here is a damned magician named Mason. He reeks of magic and deceit. And he hates werewolves, calling us wild and savage.
No self-respecting werewolf would be caught dead asking a magician for help.
Then Raymond arrived in Tokyo, intent on salving his wounded pride with my blood.
What the hell, I left my self-respect behind when I abandoned the pack. I’ll hold my nose and talk to Mason, ask for his help. I’ll even beg for his help.
The question is, would a magician even want to help a savage stray?
This starts out like a pure wish-fulfillment setup. Very powerful and badass werewolf FMC who is young but confident and oozing sex appeal. She gets just the right amount of male attention to make her feel wanted but not enough to be suffocated by it. She is rich but the obvious love interest is even richer just so she doesn't have to feel cheap letting him pursue her. The book invokes a tone of tropes that usually serve as excuses for authors to do whatever they want without having to provide proper world-building or character motivation to support it.
All this is my negative first impression but I really only have listened to 80 minutes of the audiobook so I don't feel justified in actually giving this a bad star rating. I might be completely wrong.
Side note, I think the cover model on the Ordinary Magic series by Devon Monk is the same one as for this series. Tell me if I am seeing things but I swear I have seen this model multiple times maybe on some other covers as well...
I'm not a great fan of werewolves, but I found this story by Veronica Singer very enjoyable. Luna is in Tokyo, trying to run away from her pack leader and the forced breeding he intends. Although a highly dangerous creature, she's pretty naive and lost without the pack. The first thing she does is stumble upon other supes in a bar. Although she knows the lore, she hasn't had much contact with other supernaturals. She's especially wary of the magician that takes a shine to her. Interspecies romance is prohibited, but that doesn't stop the magician from pursuing her. Raymond, her alpha, is relentless in hunting for her and Luna needs help. A lovely mis-mash of claws, fangs and magic. A good fun read. Recommended reading.
I was in a wee book drought and this story broke it. Though our mc was too distrustful and accusatory towards her likeable love interest for too long (the overused plot device almost had me not finishing the book), the rest of the story was pretty strong. Our mc, Luna, is a real adult. Its always a relief to not be subjected to narcissistic teenage angst. Her situation is horrific, with her old alpha bent on turning her into a reproductive machine. The story is fast moving, entertaining and light. A fun, quick and well edited read.
I really liked this first book in a new series. Mason and Luna have quite a few problems to deal with in this book. I loved how easy going Mason is up until Luna is threatened then he becomes her protector. Book two is out and I am looking forward to the next part of their story.
The read was beyond a 5 star rating…in my humble opinion… I enjoyed the book so much… From beginning to end it was a full and exciting read… I love the characters and the storyline…. Loads of action plus some soul searching and even romance…. Unlikely friendships add to the mix… A really great read….
Legacy Prey: Tales of Luna White - Werewolf By Veronica Singer
I fell in love as soon as I started reading . The story of these two characters was Fantastic. Its hard to come across a book that has so much body with all the twists and turns that keeping you wanting more and not being disappointed. Always wondering what was going to happen next. Definitely would recommend
I really enjoyed this book. In a genre where all books start to sound the same, this one is different. It has a great storyline and interesting and diverse characters. While Luna is a great character, it is Mason that really makes the book. From the first time he is introduced I fell in love with the way he interacts with people. I will definitely be reading more by this author.
The story was really good. I found myself not wanting to stop. I have a habit of really getting into a story. They are life movies in my mind. At first I thought Luna was bipolar flipping to anger so quickly. Reading everything as a threat. But after learning her background I understood why.
I really enjoyed this book. It is a bit different in the interactions between all the paranormal groups. Love love love Luna and Mason. They really compliment each other. I will def read the next book in the series!
For some reason I have been reading these books out of order but they are so enjoyable I can’t put them down. I absolutely adore Luna and Mason and how well their personalities blend.
I liked the world building. The story started put with a strong presentation but then started to feel rushed. There isn't much tension between our two main loves. Everything happened fairly easily.
This was a fun take on the werewolf and magic idea. I enjoyed the characters and the action and look forward to the other books in the series. I recommend this book.
This book had some creatures who were familiar and some who were new, all involved in a creative new storyline. It’s so refreshing to find an author in this genre who is able to take us all on a new adventure
This story had a different twist to the usual infighting btw Werewolves, Magicians, witch's, and Japanese supernatural. I liked the MCs definates against the pack alpha who is wanting to take over the world. Narrator does a Fine job with the various characters voices and the entire storyline.
Luna was awesome, loved her story with the exception of Raymond ,not really into witches & warlocks but its okay. Like Lucas personality. Read on my peeps pretty good story with twists & turns & surprises . enjoy
Thoroughly drawn in by the story line, the main characters have depth of character and will be happy to re read. Looking forward to reading the next one.
This was a fun read with a different spin than most paranormal books I’ve read. I thoroughly enjoyed the offbeat love interest pairing, and I’d enjoy reading more of the series.
Lunatic and brick! Nice descriptions. Loved the characters and details! Nice combination of magic and supernatural. Will look forward to the next book.
This rating was demanded by all of the following, characters, flow, tight grip on the growth of each player. I will be reading all the books in the series
❤️ 📚. 👍. Paranormal is my favorite to read. I always loved watching Dark Shadows and Chiller Theater. Reading is a Love I’ve enjoyed for years. This series is a great read. Highly recommend.
