It's been several months since Rory left her old life behind to move to her family's magical library in the coastal town of Ivory Beach. When her best friend from back home gets in touch, she can't wait to introduce her to her new family -- even if she can't share the truth of the magical world with an outsider.
When a vampire shows up dead near her home while she's gone, however, Rory finds herself staring down a more unwelcome part of her history -- the group of sinister vampires who've made it their goal to get their hands on Rory's late father's journal.
Did one of the vampires commit murder, or is there a new enemy about to enter Rory's life? If she wants the truth, she's going to have to face her fears… or her loved ones might well be the ones to suffer the consequences.
Elle Adams lives in the middle of England, where she spends most of her time reading an ever-growing mountain of books, planning her next adventure, or writing. Elle's books are humorous mysteries with a paranormal twist and tons of magical mayhem.
She also writes urban and contemporary fantasy novels as Emma L. Adams.
Laney, the best friend comes to town but what secrets is she hiding? Rory and Xavier’s relationship continues to grow, the library is still a scary magical place. But.. why or how is Rory able to see people being reaped? And what is in her dad’s journal. Six books in I wish that thread can be wrapped up.
Welp, that didn't last long! Maybe because the last book was more fun and didn't have any actual murders, I was feeling more positive towards this series, but this book is right back to the usual: everyone is stupid and nothing makes sense.
For example, right at the beginning of the book, Rory decides that she simply MUST meet up with her Normal friend Laney and introduce Xavier to her. Fine, whatever I guess. Oh the ONLY way to do that is drag him out of his region, directly against his job requirements, after you PROMISED the Grim Reaper you wouldn't cause him to violate them? Wow. Good job being a terrible person, Rory.
Luckily for Rory, they don't get caught by Xavier's boss for doing this, but only because the dead body that turns up in town while they're out wandering in Normalville was a vampire, and thus the Grim Reaper himself handled the job.
I thought staking a vampire caused them to disintegrate? Well, according to the author, you have to stake them IN THE HEART. Fine, I can accept that... but since this guy was NOT staked in the heart (but instead, in the ribcage or something), why did he even die? Vampires are undead; what exactly "killed" him in this scenario? Are they just extremely allergic to stakes anywhere internal? As usual with this author, this shit makes no sense.
SUMMARY AND THOUGHTS ON THE PLOT, FOR MY MEMORY WHEN I READ THE NEXT BOOK:

I am really enjoying the Library Witch Mystery series and Fangs & Fiction is an exciting addition with Aurora (Rory) growing as a Biblio-witch. Rory just found out a few months ago about her magic ability and her two Aunts and two cousins who are also Biblio-Witches. They all live together along with their familiars in an enchanted library. In this book (Book #6), Rory’s friend, Laney, who is a normal wants to visit Rory at the library. There are rules about not telling normal people about magic so Rory and her boyfriend Xavier go back to Rory’s former town to see her. Next thing Rory knows a vampire is found dead in town, someone tries to break into the library, and there are other vampires after Rory. It all keeps Rory busy trying to find out the truth to what is going on. This book is very much like the others but Rory is getting the hang of being a witch and is becoming more independent which stirs up some things. This book was very enjoyable and the audiobook is wonderful! #Fangs&Fiction #LibraryWitch
Rory is settling into her new life in the coastal town of Ivory Beach which is full of supernatural beings, witches, and more. It's been several months since she moved into the magical library with her family who are all bibliowitches like her. All's going well except for missing her best friend, Laney. Rory knows that she can't share the truth with Laney so how can she keep her in her life? And, to top things off, when a vampire is found dead near her home, Rory's history with them may be coming to a head.
I love this series and this book is a prime example of why. It's well-written with well-rounded characters, some of whom you'll like and others you won't. The various relationships are well-done. Full of intrigue and mystery, this book grabbed my attention from the beginning and kept me hooked until the end. I'm eager for the next book to come out. I highly recommend both book and series which I suggest you read in order.
This book started off slowly for me. I don’t usually binge read entire series. However, it didn’t take long for the story to pick up and grab my attention.
I want to be a librarian in a magical library. Their job is never boring, especially when the books start fighting with each other!
Somehow a few “normals” have found their way into the magical town. Considering there is someone/something murdering vampires, tensions are high and the politics between the vampires and the rest of the magical folk intensifies.
There were a couple twists and turns which kept the tensions high and the plot just kept getting better. A good read!
This was another good installment in the series, but I didn't like it quite as much as others. It was a little darker and heavier, with a stronger focus on the vampires. However, by the mid-point in the book I was completely hooked as there was a lot of overall story arc continuity regarding Rory's father's journal that was occurring and I loved it for that. The introduction of Rory's old friend Laney, from before-she-knew-she-was-a-witch time, was really fun, and Laney was a strong character who accepted Rory easily, as a good friend should. I will definitely keep reading the series.
I immersion-read this on Kindle Unlimited and audio.
I have absolutely fallen in love with this series!! I found it by chance on recommendations from Kindle and I read the 1st 3 in 2 days. I will let you in on how I accomplished this. Lol I just had to know what was going to happen next so I told my husband I had to go work upstairs in my office and he currently can’t come upstairs lol and I would do it all over again.. thank you for helping me escape all the hate in our world today. Your series have kept me sane and off of Snapped♥️
Living in a paranormal community where witches, werewolves and vampires are among the town's inhabitants isnt the place for a normal human. But Rory's friend Laney wants to cone for a visit. How do you hide the magic in the library? Evangeline hold a party at the vampires church and Aunt Candace wants to go so Rory goes with her to find out more on the death of a vampire A rollercoaster of a ride reading this book..so much happens it's hard to keep things straight But Rory and her family come out on top again
This is the sixth in the Library Witch Mystery series. I listened to this on Hoopla through my local library.
It has been a few months since Auroa discovers she’s a Biblio witch. Her powers are developing and getting stronger. Laney, her friend from her normal life from her non-magical town has shown up at the library without an invitation or notice.
There are plenty of twists and turns through this well written story. There are some surprises and I look forward to seeing what the future holds for Auroa and Laney.
What’s poor Rory to do? Her best friend wants to come visit her, but the vampires are still after her dad’s journal, and she wants to protect her from the vampires, but maybe someone needs to protect the vampires from her best friend?
In her latest Library Witch mystery, Ms Adams takes the reader on a thrill ride full of twists and turns. I commend it to your attention.
Laney finds her way to the Ivory Beach and the library. Someone is killing vampires and someone is watching the library.... After a couple visits to Mortimer Vale, things become only slightly clearer..... Then everything goes wrong. Practice makes perfect though, right? Loved this book and series. Highly recommend it and am off to read the next in series.
I always look forward to these books since I would love living in the library in the books. The owl gets to be a bit tedious at times, though. The idea that she has to write down her spell is interesting but in a desperate situation that could prove to be a problem.
Her father's journal is missing and there's a major problems with the vampires, a problem which will have dire consequences for someone.
This is such a creative and unique series especially in the cozy paranormal genre. The characters are diverse with lots of interesting quirks. This book is a bit darker than the previous books but with unexpected twist. I highly recommend this series.
This was a wonderful story with a surprising twist. I truly enjoyed this story it had a few laughs, some scary moments, and some true friend moments. Man friend is always there. I need Rory to get more confident with her witch powers, she was stronger in the first book.
I can't deal with this girl, she avoid the truth to things too much. The amount of clues that's shows something wrong with her 'BEST FRIEND' and yet she still avoid hearing it. Too stupid good book doe.
Wow; sure didn't see THAT coming! Rory's life is incredibly complex right now, and it seems like just about everyone around her has a secret and/or agenda. This story is a non-stop adventure ride, and the journey is continuing in Book 7!
Elle Adams has really hit her stride in this story! Our librarian which is finally coming into her powers and her friend Laney is joining her with unexpected powers of her own. This was an exciting story and I could not put it down!
The Vampires are back… Rory is still scared of them but was determined to discover who was killing visiting vampires who are still scouring the town for the key to her father’s diary. Cute cozy mystery. 😊
I liked this book because it answered a lot of questions from the previous 5 books and of Course only made me anxious to read book 7! Which I am starting now.
This time around Rory old life joins in with her new life when her best friend wants to visit. But its not the best time when a vampire shows up dead and things don't make sense. Rory and the gang must figure out this puzzle and keep her friend from finding out about her magical world...or .....
Rory's best friend has contacted her and wants to see her. First Rory goes back to see her friend where she used to live, but then her friend wants to visit her in Ivory Beach and she begins to wonder how her friend found the town that is usually hidden from normals.
fangs and fiction by elle Adams. a popular recurring topic in this series so far is the witches and vampires hate each other and everything that goes wrong the are blaming each other which is getting beyond repetitive.
