Todd Walker stepped in to help his friend Lydia Morgan run her businesses while she took time to recover from a traumatic event. A ranch hand, taking control of her venue at the Bridal Mecca, he's certainly out of his element.
Jessie Hanson is not one for wedding details, and yet her mother and sister think she should accompany them while planning her sister's wedding. A photographer, Jessie's family encourages her to open a studio, and isn't it convenient that there is vacant space at the Bridal Mecca.
It doesn't take long before Todd falls for the tall, talented woman who now works in the same building. Often reminded that he's the last of his generation of Walkers to get married, he finds himself open to falling in love with Jessie and quickly moving things along. But between Todd's issues with his parents' relationship, and the future of the Bridal Mecca at stake, they will have to decide if it's the right time to start a new relationship.
Bestselling Author Bernadette Marie writes contemporary romances and believes in Happily Ever After. The married mother of five believes in love at first sight, quick love, and second chances. An avid martial artist, Bernadette Marie is a certified instructor and holds a second degree black belt in Tang Soo Do. She loves Tai Chi, traveling to Disney parks, and having lunch with friends. When not writing, or running her own publishing house, Bernadette is probably immersed in a Rom Com, from which she will often quote one liners.
I was really enjoying Jessie as an empowered, practical woman. But my opinion swiftly changed when her attitude towards Todd changed when the Bridal Mecca burned. It was if a new woman appeared. Her reasoning was so asinine. I applaud Todd on his patience, but I was really just shocked. She eventually got it together and she and Todd got back on track. I'm really looking forward to Lydia's story but sorry to see the end of this great series.
Masterpiece is the tenth book in Bernadette Marie’s The Walker Family series. Todd Walker has moved into town, away from the ranch, and is running the Bridal Mecca while his friend is recovering from a traumatic event. Jessie Hanson accompanies her sister to the Bridal Mecca and her life changes. Not only does she discover a studio to start her new business venture but she also finds a love interest in Todd Walker.
I really enjoyed Todd’s character having set aside his lifestyle to run an extremely busy wedding business. I had a hard time relating to Jessie at first and slowly warmed to her character. I enjoyed the intrigue within the book and felt the title was fitting.
This is definitely a standalone book which I recommend. I look forward to reading the last book in the series. I received an advance copy and chose to read and review it. This is my honest opinion.
Well, again Bernadette Marie did it with the last of the Walker man that was left standing. It was a struggle to put this book down when i had to go to my job. I've been seen crying and laughing on the subway enjoying this book. Jessie and Todd complete each other perfectly with their instantaneous attraction. This is a must read as well as the other books in this series. Great job Bernadette Marie.
The 10th installment of what have been a fantastic series. Todd is the last Walker to get married, infact marriage was so far from his thoughts until Jessie came along and changed that. I loved the girl power in Masterpiece, women banding together to support each other. I look forward to reading the final book in the series 'At Last'. <--- loving the name for book 11 😉
The love story between Todd and Jessie is AWESONE!! The instantaneous between the two is epic and hangs on from start to finish! The story is full of Walker family love, loyalty, family, friendahip, and romance! A definite must read!!
