This wasn't the worst story I've read hence the .5 but it was far from even being 'okay'.
I have to say that the writing style was not for me. The story and characters lacked depth, they were also unlikeable and I felt absolutely no chemistry between them. Also, there wasn't a lot of dialogue which didn't help the issues I've already mentioned and the plot was weak at best.

Struck in the Crossfire by Linny Lawless is a Motorcycle Club Romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Rodney Falcon. This is book one in the Berzerkers MC Series.
This is the first book of Linny’s that I have read and definitely won’t be my last. The story does end on a cliffhanger but that was no surprise since its book one in a series. I cannot wait until book two is released so we can get more of Stryker and Izzy’s story.
Rodney did a great job on the narration. He always knows how to bring a story to life.

Stryker is president of the Berzerkers MC. His brother and sisterinlaw were killed by another mc, leaving him as president. Izzy works at the bar and tries to protect her pregnant mentally disabled sister. She makes a mistake by getting caught stealing from the MC's safe and is claimed by Stryker. Lizzy is used to nothing but abuse from men but Stryker turns out to be different than most. The two have a sizzling chemistry and end up as a couple. This was a sad, but good read.

This book has tragedy, sex, hotness and an HEA!
Rodney Falcon has a great MC voice and did a good job overall but I had trouble distinguishing between male & female characters.
I would recommend this book!

Izzy has a lot on her plate when Stryker comes storming into her life. He is part neanderthal; part seductive biker.
The story is full of sexy vibes and hard core situations. I really enjoyed watching the characters figure it out. I'm interested in learning more about the Berzerkers MC, which is a different outlook from her Chaos Kings.
Linny Lawless creates worlds full of mayhem but always seems to tap into the heart of the matter. She is really blossoming as a writer.
So, to summarize:
good writing - check
heartfelt and hot - check
makes you want to read more in the series - check
lots of fun - check, check

Thank you Ms. Lawless for another attention grappling read. I loved the way the characters seemed to jump out of the story line, so that the reader is hooked on them.
He is the President of the Berserkers MC, she was a bar maid, trying to survive and take care of her sister.
He was a closed off alpha male who didn’t know what he needed,. She was a mouthy,attitude baring woman , who was stuck in a loop called life.’
Neither was looking for the other but need them.
These two stubborn, pigheaded people, fight falling in love, but in the end fate always wins.

Great start to the series!! Hands down the most action packed and fast paced MC romance. Izzy is caught stealing from the MC and the Prez, Stryker, makes Izzy, her pregnant sister Marie and the bar owned by their father club property. And Stryker claims the feisty and sassy Izzy for his own. When Stryker finds out how Marie became pregnant it is War!! He vows to protect Izzy and her sister at all costs. What an excellent start to the series, I can’t wait for the next book!!!

Lawless, Linny . . . Struck in the Crossfire (Berzerkers MC Book1)
Set in the mid-80’s before modern technology and social media became the tail that wags the dog. When music wasn’t on a phone but a cassette player. When communication was either via snail mail, pagers of landline telephones. Whey your MC members rode the world was a different place, but MC’s still ran their own areas and fought with those who wanted to take over.
The Berzerker’s MC, from Chicago, were a 1% club, outlaw. They dealt in “illegal.” Illegal guns were bought and sold, illegal underground fighting and illegal gambling. Easy to come by illegal money as long as you could protect yourself and your income.
Their underground fights were held in an old warehouse located in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. They held church in an old underground bomb shelter that had been built during the Cold War of the 1950’s. It was 1,000 square feet of space for church, rooms to sleep and a separate room for interrogating, torturing or killing.
Now that he had a wife and a baby on the way he was ready to settle down and get out of the MC life. He told Stryker he wanted to pass the patch to him, but Stryker said he wasn’t ready. This would all come to pass once Kage had killed Wraith “in the ring” the Soul Takers MC would be no more.
Stryker and Rubik ride up to the cabin where Kage has taken Sadie. AS they approach Stryker notices the doorknob is blown off. When they enter they see Sadie dead on the floor and Kage tied sitting in a chair with dead eyes. Rubik wraps his sister in a sheet, Stryker does the same for his brother. Then they take them out behind the cabin and bury them.they had won her too.
When Ajax wins at the fight pit under the Durango Bar not only does the MC win $25ker took this as far as telling Izzy since she worked at the bar they won her. She informs Stryker he didn’t win her and he informs her that he will giver her a free pass this time, after she apologized when she saw he was the Prez,
And this, the story of Stryker and Izzy starts.

5. Got his road name from his affinity for quickly solving Rubik’s Cubes.

3. Dodge – had been beaten almost to death by the Soul Taker MC and his old lady, Ginger, had been raped and her mind got really messed up from the rape too.

2. Took care of her younger half sister Marie who has the mind of a 10 year old and is pregnant.
3. Fell in love with Stryker.

2. She is innocent of any hate, not one evil bone in her body, she was born with mental and learning disabilities which also affect her emotions.
3. She goes to the Durango when Izzy has to work and waits for her in the back office.
4. One night she got bored waiting for Izzy and left to look for the neighborhood feral cats. She was taken by Sinister Creed MC, raped and impregnated.(She has the reading level of a 4th grader and instead of reading SINISTER on their rags, she thought it said SISTER but Izzy knew which MC it was.)
5. Her mother and father, Jed who owned the Durango, are drug addicts.
Soul Takers MC
1. Wraith
2. Along with his brothers had beat Dodge half to death and raped his old lady.
Sinister Creed MC
1. Members had raped Marie and impregnated her.

This is a great MC romance, it is well written and well told with interesting storylines that are captivating from start to end. Linny Lawless has a great writing style and ability to fit a lot of story into her novella sized book. Her characters are complex and well developed, as are the dynamics of the MC world she created. Stryker is everything you expect from an MC President, he is badass with an alpha attitude, he has a good heart too, unlike some of the rival MC. Izzy finds herself in a bad way when she tries to steal money from the club, she was only trying to get enough money so she could take her sister Mary and escape the life they are in. Stryker sees something in her, he likes her attitude too. I loved these two together, I also liked how great he was with Mary and how protective he was of them, deeming them club property. It turns out they have more in common than they thought and vengeance is in order. This is a fast paced, action packed story, I like how well plotted it was and how it all played out. There was plenty of drama, angst, twists and turns some thrilling and suspenseful moments as was as heartfelt ones, some hot romance too. Thank you Linny Lawless for this great story, I am looking forward to more from the Berzerkers MC.

As always with Linny, I was hooked from the start. Learning right off the bat what happened in Strykers past was so tragic but beautifully written. I felt as though I could feel Stryker and Rubiks pain, I couldn’t imagine trying to move on from what they were put through.
Loved Izzy, she was such a spitfire and loved her smart mouth. She can certainly take a punch and still give lots of lip! She is so strong with taking care of her sister, Marie and working to support them. Oh Marie, I love her too. She is so sweet and caring. I hate what happened to her but having a sister like Izzy to help take care of her was what I needed.
Then Stryker comes in, well actually I would say the man barreled into their lives. From the moment that he found Marie in the office and Izzy giving lip he did not back down from her. He stayed in her face and then he realized how much he was falling for her; I think it scared Izzy how much she was falling for Stryker too. Loved him for Izzy though, he took such great care of Marie and promised to make sure that no one hurt her or them again. He even got vengeance for what happened to Marie and I think that was a great closure for them all.
I did get up and whoop a little bit when Izzy kicked that one woman’s butt. I figured she was just in denial about Stryker all that time and then to see that other woman up on him, yeah I would have blown a fuse too, but then she mentioned Marie and I was ready for more blood. Stryker kicking her out helped me like him some more lol.

My first Linny Lawless read and not my last—this was a quick, fun read that packs in all sorts of action and drama—what’s not to like?!
Oh and then … it’s got some darkness—even better, IMO. It packs all kinds of second chances - at life, at love and more. It’s also heart-wrenching at times, which I find fun.

This was a "Meh" kind of story.
It was all over the place and lacked cohesiveness.
The h was a weak, pathetic, slutty character who was no better than a cat in heat. She was constantly screaming, sobbing and crying. The main characters had sex a few times even though she was not with him willingly, add a touch of Stockholm Syndrome and then after a few f###s they are in love 🙄. They mistake lust for love. No real relationship development, no character development and no chemistry between the characters.
There was a dub-con scene, no warning, oh wait it's not dub-con if she already spread her legs for him and then moans like a whore. Got it. Definitely not interested enough to read more in the series.

Hot
Ok so I read this book in one go,just couldn't put it down. From start to finish it held my attention. If you like hot alpha biker boys then this is definitely the book for you. I don't write a normal review as the author does a much better job in the book blurb than I could ever do. Fast pace and hot with a bit of suspense thrown in to make it extra juicy. All I can say is just read it you'll not be disappointed. Thanks Linny for taking up my day but in a good way in a very good way!!!!

Absolutely loved it
Loved it omg I was drawn in from the very beginning and I couldn't put this book down! Izzy and Stryker's story had me twisted up in knots. The both had endured a tough life and it tore me up. The twists and turns kept me on the edge of my seat and I didn't want their story to end. Stryker and Rubik are two men I could get down with and I can't wait to see more of them. I hope we get Rubik's story next.

If you want a hardcore MC story, then this is for you. Stryker’s world has always been wrought with violence, including the vicious murders of his brother and pregnant SIL. 2 yrs later and he catches a woman trying to steal from his club bar. I was looking to read a hardcore MC romance and I certainly got it with Struck In the Crossfire by Linny Lawless. Stryker is definitely an Alpha and lives in a very dangerous and violent world. At first I didn't like Izzy mainly because of a scene at the beginning of the book, but I quickly warmed up to her. Mainly because she was very caring and protective of her younger sister. There is a lot of action in this book and I look forward to reading the next installment.

Great start to the series!! Hands down the most action packed and fast paced MC romance. Izzy is caught stealing from the MC and the Prez, Stryker, makes Izzy, her pregnant sister Marie and the bar owned by their father club property. And Stryker claims the feisty and sassy Izzy for his own. When Stryker finds out how Marie became pregnant it is War!! He vows to protect Izzy and her sister at all costs. What an excellent start to the series, I can’t wait for the next book!!!

This is as hardcore as an Mc gets. Stryker has killed and is out for more blood when his brother gets killed. Along the way he meets Izzy who is doing all she can go protect her sister from the bad guys. It's definitely not love at first sight for these two but will the common bond bring them together?

Good read
It took me a while to get into this book, but once I was in, I stayed until I had finished the book.
Twists, turns and surprises await you throughout the pages and this book. Some of the surprises you may see coming, while others you won't. Some are large, while others are small.
The emotions the characters go through can be felt.

Fast read.
This is a novella. Less than 45 minutes to read. You can tell it was written by a woman. Hearts and unicorns came through....had a happily ever after. I am sure this is a series. It reads like the first couple of chapters in a book.
Authors need to post this is a short story with a cliffhanger.

Struck in the Crossfire is probably the best and the most hardcore short MC story I've listened to. Despite the length, the story isn't rushed. The characters are great and seem real. The romance is engaging and hot. The narration by Rodney Falcon is superb. He does an excellent job with characters, bringing them to life.

An MC with heart
I enjoyed Izzy and Marie’s sweet bond. Their relationship as sisters struggling with whats happened to them and becoming part of a world that frightened them made them real. It has all the qualities of a good MC read without overpowering the romance with to much darkness.

What a great novella! Dark, twisted and gritty. Stryker takes over the Bezerkers MC as the President and meets Izzy while he takes over another club. Izzy takes care of her sister and works the bar but is annoyed and attracted to Stryker. I loved this novella and loved seeing the quick growth in the characters and learning about this MC world.

So this book is set in the '80s, so cool. After a club tragedy, Stryker is now President of the club. From the first chapter, this book tears you open and sets up the rest of the book. Izzy makes a stupid decision and has to answer to Stryker for it. A really good read and I recommend it.

Not what I expected
I loved this book I read it by chance and I wasn’t disappointed. The women are strong and still support their alpha males. The alpha male seems hard but is soft for women.. I loved this book

For a short book it sure packed a punch!
Stryker and Izzy...swoon! Yes, this is a quick read but you get a story, characters, suspense, and a luv story. I will definitely read the next book in the series, can’t wait to see what happens to Rubik.

What can I say, Linny Lawless nailed it AGAIN!!
Stryker became the Prez of the Berzerkers MC after an unfortunate situation. When a feisty, beautiful young woman crosses a line she shouldn’t have he decides to not handout the normal punishment. 🖤🖤
