Stacey Thompson is about to start her senior year of high school. On her first day, she encounters not one but two guys that keep demanding her attention. Brian, sweet, considerate, and star of the school play, asks her out. Mariusz, bookish and rebellious, keeps getting her stuck in detention. As Stacey navigates her way through the school year, she must make a decision about how she will deal with each of these boys. She also must deal with her most cunning adversary, herself. Between facing her fears, leaping off rooftops, and sabotaging the Prom, Stacey must come to terms with life, injustice, and maybe even death itself.
While a YA novel set in high school, this book was such a great read for me as an adult! I love the characters, the realistic storyline, and I laughed and cried a LOT through it. I cried the most toward the end, and literally cried for days over one major part, oof. But SUCH a good book.
Amazing! The story kept me interested the whole time and I loved the unexpected twist at the end. I can't wait to see if other books be Judy Lunsford are similar. L received the book for free through Goodreads First Reads.
Was OK. Felt like it was more of a teen read then an adult read. It had some good learning lessons we should all use daily & had me crying like a baby at the end, but all in all I didn't like writing.
